    Holy moly, the view from the top of the Half Dome is incredible. Videos and pictures cannot possibly do it justice. You are a fortunate man to experience this, thank you for sharing with us.

    Breathtaking!! I can't help but think of the strength, bravery, and hours that went into building those trails. What a job...you get up in the morning from your tent and climb several hundred yards up Halfdome and start busting and arranging multi-hundred pound rocks all day while standing on the edge a cliff and oh, did I mention, it's the year 1919...crazy!!

    Thanks for the video, it looks exactly like it did in the early 70's and in the early 90's, brought back some great memories! Everyone should hike up half dome at least once in their life.

    Crazy gorgeous is a good way to explain it. I loved seeing the little lizards way up on Half Dome, I could almost smell the air as you walked thru the woods, and the waterfall spray was great!

      Following Redbeard 👍🏻 I was so hoping to see you and Daniel hike all the way to Canada 🇨🇦, but I know with all those fires that were burning it would have been to dangerous, also I enjoyed watching your AT hiking adventure journey I’m from Ga and I love the Smokey’s and hiking the trails in the National Parks. I will be looking forward to seeing more of your hiking adventures !!! Thanks Danny

    Thank you so much for this video.
    The word "Gorgeous" do not do this gorge justice. Of all God's creations, this has to be one of the absolute best ones.
    gorgeous (adj.) c. 1500, "splendid, showy, sumptuously adorned" (of clothing),
    from Middle French gorgias "elegant, fashionable," of unknown origin; perhaps a special use of gorgias "necklace" (and thus "fond of or resembling jewelry"),
    from Old French gorge "throat," also "something adorning the throat" (see gorge (n.)).
    A connection to the Greek proper name Gorgias (supposedly in reference to a notorious sophist) also has been proposed.
    Related: Gorgeousness.

    I just found your channel about a week ago and I've been watching your trek along the PCT. Did you stop posting videos for awhile? I've watched all of them all the way to Forrester Pass and then they seem to skip all the way to Cloud's Rest. That's a big chunk of trail that wasn't documented. What happened?

    • @RedBeard0924
      @RedBeard0924  9 років тому +1

      1400 miles of hiking to do in 2 months is what has happened. Too much footage to edit from trail. Sections skipped will be done upon completion.

      Redbeard is the best but there is Ken Lambdin who is doing a 2015 pct series of videos. His videos are ok. Also Joe Brewer is good he did pct last year and is currently doing cdt so you could watch all his from last year.

    Thank you for your video on Half Dome** I have done this hike and it is no joke but worth the time and effort it takes to complete this hike. My brother and I are going to do Clouds Rest this spring and after seeing your video think it may be beyond my hiking abilities. The last part looks so scary! that peak and the narrow trail up looks terrifying how would you compare the two hikes? The cables at the last part of Half Dome provided some comfort and security so seeing that Clouds Rest is just a shear drop off with nothing to save you from falling to your death is just beyond for me. Any advise before I attempt this hike?

    • @RedBeard0924
      @RedBeard0924  5 років тому

      Joanie G they both aren’t too bad. Clouds Rest isn’t too scary if it’s dry. I just looked down at my feet when it got narrow. Half Dome is much more nerve wracking but the cables make it not too bad. Just get to Half Dome early before the crowds.

    • @joanieg3238
      @joanieg3238 5 років тому

      @@RedBeard0924 Thank you so much for your response I have done Half Dome and yes you need to go before the crowds for sure! Your video of Clouds Rest just made my hands sweat and my heart race! If you say It's not as bad as Half Dome I'm in. The granite is so slippery not wet so I can only imagine if the conditions were wet. We will be doing the hike late May so hopefully the weather will behave. Thank you again I am inspired by all the awesome hikes you have done keep it up. Happy Hiking...
