You gotta hand it to Clayton--when faced with an ape-man, a magic duck, and a Japanese boy handing him a royal beatdown with a giant key, Clayton chooses to stand and fight... and win.
In my chemistry class, we were talking about cholesterol levels and I brought up the fact that Gaston eats four dozen eggs and the instructor said that Gaston would be dead before the day ended.
Seems this one was accidentally uploaded twice. Unless this one was intentionally uploaded with TWENTY-THREE SECONDS OF NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN FOOTAGE, then it was one of the first uploaded on this set of runs.
+Youa Numbah Oneah Racist All videos are fixed up after the event. Reasons include: 1) Fixing technical issues if possible, such as the echoing audio on the uploads for several runs early in the event. 2) Normalizing the audio track. Most runs will end up being louder. 3) Removing the takeover ads played during setup times. 4) Adding title cards, including run, category, runners, and an approximate time when the run starts. 5) Putting interviews with the run they belong with, as sometimes there was a schedule gap (the Super Mario Kart interview was done before Diddy Kong Racing, for example).
BEHIND THE SCENES INFORMATION, folks. Guess if it's been done before, I've never seen it happen. Thanks for the personalized(I assume not form letterized) response.
+Youa Numbah Oneah Racist It's been done this way in some form since AGDQ2015. SGDQ2015 was the first time the runs were uploaded during the event as rough copies, with fixed up versions in the weeks after the event. It's our plan to continue doing so for the future.
They need to run KH at every GDQ. The community always provides informative and entertaining commentary, the Disney songs are entertaining enough, and the runs are highly technical and intense. I watch speedrunning for the glitches, but KH is the exception to that rule.
It’s pretty funny that this game enforces it’s theme of friendship pretty great through gameplay, but speed running completely flips that and the party members are an obstacle.
It's such a shame they would have to worry about copyright issues from "Simple and Clean" on a well known and respected Charity that has raised millions to help fight cancer. Keep on fighting the good fight!
Chris Leung if your talking about the chernabog fight then yes it works the glitch is usable once you have geni and on any boss you have your allies the catch is its better at lower levels because of the world scaling bringing your damage up
Holy shit, what is it with all this negativity towards the singing portions? All of them did a great job for doing this live without even knowing the words by heart. Jfc people chill, it is neither cringey nor is it totally out of place, this is partly a Disney game after all.
Anyone else get chills in the beginning of the run when SpikeVegeta was naming some of the runners? It's amazing how big this community is and will always be something I look forward to every GDQ
Only found out about AGDQ in Jan 2017and just found this now as I was about to finish my first ever play through of KH1. Incredible to see. These guys blast through a game I've just been battering my head against (although I was grateful to learn just how OP Air combos are!)
This is my favorite speedrun. Love how there are no glitches, no questionable skips or boundary breaks. This is a legit run with nothing abused but the knowledge and skill needed. One of few runs where I want to stay for the whole thing Edit: also their sense of humor is actually funny and entertaining, and singing was also great
I did not own a PS3, and I never played 1.5, but I played KH1 on PS2. When I saw this, I assumed it would be impossible because the cutscenes were completely unskippable, but now that they added this to where you can skip, it's like square enix waited all this time to finally make the cutscenes skippable
tom wagner You have to realize the the runners and commentators are there to enjoy a fun week with friends, and not really for the charity work. It also makes more sense once you think about the fact that they don't know which donations are going to have heartfelt messages and which ones are simply going to be another unoriginal joke about killing animals.
Zachary Henke I see what you're saying for the most part. different runners and commentators have different styles when it comes to the balance between their patter and event related stuff. given who it was it could have been way worse, so fair enough.
I know this is so late, but in addition, the couch needs to be paying attention to what's going on because they're supposed to be able to tell the audience what the actual runner is doing. It was very poorly timed though. And I wish he had just waited. He knew they were reading out donations. But there's also the possibility that he just said something habitually/got excited and jumped the gun. Sorry again I know your comment is already a month old >_
This is exciting to watch because Kingdom Hearts would always take me foreverrrr to figure out where to go and what I needed to do haha, but it’s a fun game
Every time I see someone play this game, at about 9:46 all I can hear is Crash going "Woah!" followed by a bad MIDI of the following music. I think I've been watching too much OneyPlays.
I just watched this yesterday, and when I got to Halloween Town, I wanted to use the community jumps. Except I can't. Because Square patched out the first bit of house you have to jump on. There's just roots dangling out the side of the tower there in the Greatest Hits copy of the game.
Never thought about this game that deep. If you don't seal the keyhole in certain worlds, you have to do those terminals at EotW right? The thing is, Destiny Islands is also in EotW, because it succumed to darkness. Basically, you neglected those worlds, and now they've been sucked in by the darkness.
The 1st time I beat the last boss I thought it was easy cuz I nearly maximized the levels of all my characters. I was like "he just kinda stands here & takes it but they sure have you face em 7 times".
You know, here's one of things my wife Gwen suggested since she's dead set on saving the animals: Next year for KH1, make a donation incentive of around $5000 or so to "Save the Puppies" (meaning you go and rescue all 99 Dalmatians in all 33 locations) but you don't have to go back to collect the rewards since they aren't used in the run unless you might think that some of those items you get from Pongo in Traverse Town could potentially speed up the run after each individual reward was collected (you don't have to do them all at once!) Conversely, you could also just make it a race and have whoever donates the most money towards the incentive decides whether to save or kill the puppies before the run starts. That ought to make things much more interesting... not sure which KH run would fit best for this, although in a 100% run, you have to save them anyway, so you could have a 100% run incentive too... just some ideas from Gwen. Another more general donation incentive (one of my ideas): To whoever donates over $9000 total cumulatively at the very first time, have Spike Vegeta go out and buy or make one of those toy scouters just to crush the living heck out of it, yell "ITS OVER NINE THOUSAND!" and have the person currently doing the run act Nappa's part. The runner probably would be playing a DBZ game such as Legend of the Super Saiyan (SNES Reproduction English fan translation carts might be available but rare since it was originally on SFC). Now THAT would be epic! I mean heck, you guys probably have a whole bunch of EXCELLENT video game merchandise prizes that I have NEVER seen anywhere else to date...
i don't understand, this speedrun, by all appearances, went absurdly well, but it was only 3 and 1/2 minutes below estimate... why was the estimate so ambitious, what if things went wrong?
Wait a minute..Goofy still only gives up 1 MP for MP Gift in 1.5. But...what? It actually still is 2 in the run, so...I SWEAR Goofy only ever used one. Maybe it was just instantly getting MP Charge to refill an MP I never noticed?
I see the light was totally snubbed at the oscars. I mean skyfall is great and all, but it's an opening credit song to a spy thriller. I see the light was integral to the story telling. But whatever.
I like it on every difficulty but proud. He does way too much damage, in a world that's way too hard. Except for Jafar, who's pretty much the easiest and second easiest boss, at the same time.
58:10 I'll make a man out of you
1:01:55 Gaston
1:11:12 Let It Go
1:27:12 A Whole New World
1:30:07 Go the Distance
you the real MVP of the comment section
Thanks
I come here exactly for this - thanks!
LMAO
LOL A whole New World was great.
You gotta hand it to Clayton--when faced with an ape-man, a magic duck, and a Japanese boy handing him a royal beatdown with a giant key, Clayton chooses to stand and fight... and win.
Taylor Bayless he also shot Zora's dumb ass
Taylor Bayless oh wait XD ape-man tarzan. Somehow I forgot Tarzan was a part of that world.
Nancy Christman Yeah, I always forget that Tarzan is in Jungle Book too don't worry
Lam/CheekyGamer you know that world is based on the movie Tarzan, right? Or was that just you being facetious, and i'm just stupid?
Carla Lefeaux I don't know what facetious means but probably
In my chemistry class, we were talking about cholesterol levels and I brought up the fact that Gaston eats four dozen eggs and the instructor said that Gaston would be dead before the day ended.
Toasty Waffels LEL
Technically, that's when he was a boy. He eats 60 now.
That information has since been proven false. Eggs are safe.
J Davis They're safe as long as you don't eat four dozens of them a day.
Mewtwo332 Eggs were thought to contain bad cholesterol in the yolkes. That has since been scrutinized.
00:08:35 for run start and 00:12:03 for after intro start.
who wants to skip dat intro tho? :D
when you walk away
you don't hear me say
+hank hill pleeeease
+hank hill since they're talking through it and everyone knows that the runners and casters can sing better ;)
Love you Spike, making these runs all the more enjoyable.
"NO CLAPPING IN BETWEEN, IT'LL TAKE TWENTY MINUTES!"
As soon the commentary started I could tell this was going to be an amazing run.
Any run with SpikeVegeta on the mic makes me wanna watch it.
Indubitably
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX Battle Director's Cut Demo Disc & Knuckles (Featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series)

Am i the first to find you and already watch you yay i love your content keep it up if you happen to see this
>the little island rock things at the start of end of the world are arrows
my entire life is a lie

+gozinta82 Our policy is that nobody other than runners are allowed to upload our event footage since SGDQ2015.
+Youa Numbah Oneah Racist It's been done this way in some form since AGDQ2015. SGDQ2015 was the first time the runs were uploaded during the event as rough copies, with fixed up versions in the weeks after the event. It's our plan to continue doing so for the future.

That hold during Gaston alone should be a highlight for AGDQ 2016.
1:01:55 for Gaston, really the only important part.
Supreme LewdMom Yaomomodido, Mom of Everything Lewd unless you are a fan of the series.
It's such a shame they would have to worry about copyright issues from "Simple and Clean" on a well known and respected Charity that has raised millions to help fight cancer. Keep on fighting the good fight!
I never realized Mushu was so OP
I need to use summons more.
i think it owned because of exp zero glitch. not that mushu is bad tho ;)
Chris Leung if your talking about the chernabog fight then yes it works the glitch is usable once you have geni and on any boss you have your allies the catch is its better at lower levels because of the world scaling bringing your damage up
Thanks Zetris! Your strats got me the speedrun trophy for KH1 :D
Holy shit, what is it with all this negativity towards the singing portions? All of them did a great job for doing this live without even knowing the words by heart. Jfc people chill, it is neither cringey nor is it totally out of place, this is partly a Disney game after all.
The Kingdom Hearts intro is just so .. _delightfully_ Japanese.
thats square enix for you.
this is an extremely late reply
Interesting fact: the agrabah world marks the only times in the game where Sora uses his actual keyblade to unlock doors! Other than that it’s beams.
Anyone else get chills in the beginning of the run when SpikeVegeta was naming some of the runners? It's amazing how big this community is and will always be something I look forward to every GDQ
2015: kingdom hearts 3 announced!
2017: KINGDOM HEARTS 1.5+2.5 HD reMIX PS4 EDITION!!!!
#EasyMoney
Favorite run of gdq this year!
Only found out about AGDQ in Jan 2017and just found this now as I was about to finish my first ever play through of KH1. Incredible to see. These guys blast through a game I've just been battering my head against (although I was grateful to learn just how OP Air combos are!)
beaktastic just wait until you get to KH2, critical mode is Hell.
That "Go The Distance" rendition was great! :D
Without a shadow of a doubt, the best run of AGDQ. Proud of the guys for stepping up yet again.
but the agdq 2015 threeway
shadow
proud
was that intentional?
Wow... 26 minutes and already in wonderland. I wasn't even off the island 😂😂😂.
I love this run so much! Helped me a lot when I need to replay KH 1 as fast as I can.
This is my favorite speedrun. Love how there are no glitches, no questionable skips or boundary breaks. This is a legit run with nothing abused but the knowledge and skill needed. One of few runs where I want to stay for the whole thing
Edit: also their sense of humor is actually funny and entertaining, and singing was also great
A Whole New World was honestly the cutest and sweetest thing I have ever seen it was like they were singing to each other :D
50:05 I didn't know dropping from that rope spawns you at the cliff! Shortcut I never knew!
10/10
In fact, this run lifted my care and interest in the series.
I know it's a mess plot-wise, but. I'll manage it
***** That's funny, because I'm actually into BlazBlue.
But yeah, pretty much that's the story with every game that Arc System Works has created
The plot is fun, but the highlight is the combat system, the worlds and the boss fights. ESPECIALLY in KH2.
Also, Xem's singing voice is great!
LOL I'm trying my hardest and I'm 1:30 minutes into the game and I'm still in Traverse Town.
Bloodybizkit and whoever the lady's singing with him during "A Whole New World" are actually really good lol
1:13:00 Great run so far. Love them speed runs, especially since I played so little as I was growing up.
I wonder how much time the PS4 version can save since loading times, transitions, drive forms etc so much faster
I did not own a PS3, and I never played 1.5, but I played KH1 on PS2. When I saw this, I assumed it would be impossible because the cutscenes were completely unskippable, but now that they added this to where you can skip, it's like square enix waited all this time to finally make the cutscenes skippable
Biggest respect to this runner... Running one of my favorite games in such a short time it's simply great to see someone that good
I just spent like 30 minutes trying to learn about the dawn midday dusk stuff to try to learn from it’s game design / narrative design.
MVP at using the slow mo for cool poses
WOW!! I'm surprised how good of singers they are!!!
2:28:35 "yo sorry for talking over your story about your dead mom, I just had to make a dumb reference that no one laughed at but me"
More than likely he wasn't listening to the donation, so it's not really ill willed (which is what the tone of your comment makes it sound like).
Zachary Henke not ill willed exactly, just self absorbed, which would be confirmed if you're right.
tom wagner You have to realize the the runners and commentators are there to enjoy a fun week with friends, and not really for the charity work. This is exciting to watch because Kingdom Hearts would always take me foreverrrr to figure out where to go and what I needed to do haha, but it’s a fun game
Got goose bumps during "Gaston" great job guys.
2:41:05 love the genuine shock reaction to getting that skip, great run
Liked for spike vegeta monologue at the beginning
I love how the whole time they're like: Oh, good, Goofy's stuck. Hopefully Donald dies, etc.
holy shit bloodybizkit and the dude who sang go the distance have some incredible voices
Every time I see someone play this game, at about 9:46 all I can hear is Crash going "Woah!" followed by a bad MIDI of the following music.
I think I've been watching too much OneyPlays.
"We said this because this cutscene is unskippable, and me talking over it probably means we wont get copyrighted
3:16:55 for nerdgasm
holy shit the guy who sang Go the Distance is so good tho
Sephiroth fight at 3:28:35
That Hook fight was too intense, I was so nervous for him when that second blizzard whiffed.
"I've got you in my sights" - Soilder 76
3:08:55
3:14:24
3:24:51 " GET 'EM EDDIE MURPHY!" - (person who said it here)
They could have at least given them some music to sing to....jeeze
I thought the Queen WAS the first Wonderland boss lol.
all time most beloved and enjoyed game!!!
KH1 Sora sounds so much less like a wimpy kid in the Japanese version.
+Otacon464 if only sora had any charaacter development
+Otacon464 He's like 14 in Kingdom Hearts 1 almost 15. And 15 almost 16 in kh 2.
Kenny Nguyen Well that wouldn't be very Disney if he did... Oh 1 Year Comment :l
I just watched this yesterday, and when I got to Halloween Town, I wanted to use the community jumps. Except I can't. Because Square patched out the first bit of house you have to jump on. There's just roots dangling out the side of the tower there in the Greatest Hits copy of the game.

Gotta love the KH speedrunning community
1:20:23 PULL YOURSELF TOGATHER
the guy with the afro is the best fuckin speedrunner i love every video he's in
Gaston was top tier. Good on 'em.
Makes me want to play the game again!
I would love to see more platforming in future KH games... By that I mean good platforming.
I remember loving this game as a kid but my sister had to make her save file like number 200 because I kept stealing her progress :P.
LOL that guy in the audience that shouted Gaston after the song ended
Isn’t it weird hearing the unfamiliar Japanese voices with the familiar combat music?
Noticed this at 49:20
58:10 to make a man out of yourself
The Gaston part is the only song that is worth seeing
The 1st time I beat the last boss I thought it was easy cuz I nearly maximized the levels of all my characters. I was like "he just kinda stands here & takes it but they sure have you face em 7 times".
is it just me,or do i hear mlg in the sephiroth song?
You know, here's one of things my wife Gwen suggested since she's dead set on saving the animals: Next year for KH1, make a donation incentive of around $5000 or so to "Save the Puppies" (meaning you go and rescue all 99 Dalmatians in all 33 locations) but you don't have to go back to collect the rewards since they aren't used in the run unless you might think that some of those items you get from Pongo in Traverse Town could potentially speed up the run after each individual reward was collected (you don't have to do them all at once!) awesome speedrun guys ❤️
I got softlocked during the Oogie fight on proud. I was pissed coz he had like one melee combo of health left. I also had no mp or items
Guys how mushu can damge? What's ring?
i don't understand, this speedrun, by all appearances, went absurdly well, but it was only 3 and 1/2 minutes below estimate... why was the estimate so ambitious, what if things went wrong?
Because people don't want to see an estimate of 4 hours? Or because he's good and chose the time himself?
I think things did go wrong a bit, there's a Clayton death at least.
There's a lot of time that can't be compressed in this run.
Gaston was +1 SUB. Great Run! Better Sound Track!
At around the 1:07:00 mark, does anyone know what the dudes in the background are chanting? I can't quite hear them.
awesome speedrun guys :D
Dam kingdom hearts came out on my bday March 28 2002 was 13 crazy
Gyet em Eddie Murphy!!
Lol, that part was great.
2h50m in i noticed bizkit sitting right next to the speedrunner 😑
wow awesome speedrun guys ^.^
dont let that guy sing again.... SPIKE IS THE MAN!!!
10/10 run. Very entertaining!
Wait a minute..Goofy still only gives up 1 MP for MP Gift in 1.5. But...what? It actually still is 2 in the run, so...I SWEAR Goofy only ever used one. Maybe it was just instantly getting MP Charge to refill an MP I never noticed?
What is the EXP 0 trick on the Dragon in the end of the game???
I see the light was totally snubbed at the oscars. I mean skyfall is great and all, but it's an opening credit song to a spy thriller. I see the light was integral to the story telling. But whatever.
OMG!!! DAT SINGING DOE!!!!
Oh yeah! Can't wait to watch this hahaha
I feel like I'm the only person who liked the Pot Centipede.
I like it on every difficulty but proud.
He does way too much damage, in a world that's way too hard.
Except for Jafar, who's pretty much the easiest and second easiest boss, at the same time.
the guy that sang i can go the distance is a god
3:16:55
This is why the Kingdom Hearts Community is truly heartwarming. Everytime I watch this I always get emotional here. :D
When the like to dislike ratio is 41.175:1
You're good :D
