Hey guys! I’m Tiff - a lover of food, travel, and good vibes. After traveling to Italy when I was 16, I made a promise to myself that I would live abroad before I was 30. And I made it happen! In 2017, I tapped out of my PR girl lifestyle to pursue my MBA in Paris. Yes, Paris! Jumping out of my comfort zone and moving to Paris, was the scariest thing that I’ve done in life thus far, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. This channel is my outlet for sharing more about my life abroad and the life lessons learned along the way.

I feel ya! When I moved to Paris from California I came with a suitcase FULL of hair supplies just in case. I was so happy to discover Chateau d'Eau. They always have crazy inventory - literally everything in all flavors! My only complaint is I hate the tactic of having guys approach women on the street for business in the shops. At first I refused to go to the shops that promoted this practice (and still don't go to the worst offenders). I find it offensive and at times a little frightening especially since I'm always alone. From the minute I step out of the metro tunnel, guys start trailing me down the street. More guys across the street and in front of every shop. No one has ever been vulgar or violent, but I have been touched/tapped on the shoulder, had guys stop directly in front of me when I was walking, follow me down the block and call out. I just think it's unprofessional and debases the community and I refuse to reward it with my money. I don't find it charming or authentic at all. Just annoying. I'm sure some would say I'm misinterpreting some less offensive explanation for it but how I feel is how I feel and I don't like it. Shame, because as a black woman I really want to support black businesses in Paris every chance I get but this -- I can't roll with it. Have you ever had bad experiences in Ch. d'Eau? One final comment, I don't think the city of Paris would tolerate this behavior towards women in the attractive, white tourist parts of town - say down the boulevard in Chatelet or along Rue de Rivoli - if only because parisiennes and female tourists wouldn't be having it.

These guys are illlegals that just earn a bit of money if you go to the shop/salon they work with. That's not easy for them... They can be annoying but if you're firm and tell them to leave they will let you, they are not "bad guys". If you're hesitant or shy they will insist. You can come from the boulevard instead of going by the métro, you just stop to the station before and walk to Château d'Eau.

Looks like New York City. How are the stress levels in Paris compared to NYC? If the stress is less then NYC that means Paris is paradise. I loved NYC but it got too competitive and expensive. You hair is beautiful.

Hey! Tbh, I've only gone to the african braiding salons because I rock crochet err day ;) - there's one near the KFC in Chateau D'eau that I used to frequent that's pretty good, but not sure if they do blowouts, think it's just braiding! Ahh, I'm obsessed with Naturalia too haha - and then I discovered Naturalia Vegan and the entire game changed 😂.
