    This video showed me where to place the last bass tone in the rhythm. I have had problems with that for years. You are a great teacher. Thanks Michael

    no me dedico a las congas pero tenia que hacer una grabacion donde tenia que tocar rhumba
    y le entendi a tu video pero no supe ya con toda la musica como entrarle
    jha
    pero me sirvio para hacer un derivado y creo que quedo decente gracias
    como sugerencia o aportacion en reciprocidad hubiera sido bueno que tocara el ritmo con un ejemplo real con musica

    Thanks Michael indeed is good material to learn, but I think you could sostain the base for a little more time .. so the learners can use the steps ... i mean without the dischargues or pra pra pra ... this is confuse ... and i am really tank you for your vídeo ..

    Thanks Michael, excellent lesson.
    Even with inclusion of the rumba clave, I'm having a difficult time finding 1, precisely (even though I know where 1 is in the clave :) ). Your first open tone on the tumba is on 4, as you've made clear. Is the first slap with left hand on the conga on 1, the first open tone on the conga on 1, or is 1 falling somewhere slightly in between beats? Sorry for such an elemental question. I appreciate your help. Great lesson! Alex.

    • @MichaeldeMiranda
      @MichaeldeMiranda  6 років тому +1

      Hey Alex, perhaps I will do this lesson again with the notation, so you can read it too. It can be very difficult with the clave, but I will try to explain it in one of the next lessons.

    Thank you for the time and effort you put into these lessons. I have learned a lot and will continue to do so. I'd like to ask about tuning the conga drums. is there a set way to tune them? Iv'e tuned mine by ear, but i just want to know if there is a correct way to tune them in order for the tones to be nice and strong.

    • @MichaeldeMiranda
      @MichaeldeMiranda  8 років тому

      +Musical Odyssey Hello, I'm glad you like my video's. About the tuning, there is no standard set way to tune them. A lot of people like to have 4 tones between them like tumba A and conga D. When I play without a band I tune them by ear, but in an orchestra I tune them different and I use a piano for it.
