    I was working security at a private art show in midtown Manhatten in the late 90's. Michael Jackson walked passed me and I didn't know that it was him because he was wearing all kinds of scarfs. Uh this is wrong lol. Michael Jackson was a composer and songwriter. Billie Jean, for example, was written entirely by him. He beatboxed the entire composition into a tape recorder and wrote all the lyrics. His musicians then copied his beatbox. There are plenty of interviews where people who worked with him talk about this, including some of Michael himself.

It highlighted all of the turning points, not only in his career but his life, that made him the legend that he became. The only thing they really didn't go into a lot of detail on was his drug addiction. They only scratched the surface on that.

And with what we know now he probably did. The technology to fix and diagnose him wasn't there in the 70s, and a lot of his issues were discovered post-mortem. Elvis wanted to do the movie "A. Star is Born"... He wanted to be taken seriously as an actor and he wanted to get into acting to break up the monotony of touring the same places...He met with Barbara and Jon and discussed what making the movie would entail...Elvis and Barbara both decided that they both needed to drop 20 pounds before filming started... They agreed to spend 30 days in a " fat farm" as they called it under supervision to lose the weight... Then 30 days promoting the movie, and then 90 days of shooting the film...altogether Elvis and Barbara would spend about 6 months to complete the movie... Elvis's guys were excited The guys said they hardly slept after Elvis gave them the good news... The next morning Red West came in Graceland and Elvis was looking dejected and sad and Red asked if he was alright and Elvis said he was okay...Red asked what the colonel thought about doing the film...Elvis said the colonel said that they don't need to do the movie at this time... The truth was that Elvis had second thoughts about doing the movie because he would have to lay off the pills and no guns allowed at the fat farm...Elvis asked the colonel to kill the deal so the colonel did...He asked for more money and top billing and that killed the deal... Everyone thought the colonel was to blame but Elvis wanted out of the movie deal so the colonel got him out... That's what really happened...

    I read all the books written by the Memphis Mafia and the consensus is the same... after a midnight show in Vegas, Streisand and Peters met with Elvis and offered him the role and he was excited to do it. After he thought on it a while, he got cold feet. When he wanted to get out of something, he'd have the Colonel demand something outrageous. So, the Colonel demanded top billing, one million in salary, $100,000 in expenses, 50% of gross profits, and a separate deal for soundtrack rights... to which they said, "Nah."

    • @mbrights3158
      @mbrights3158 2 роки тому

      I don't necessarily trust the M. mafia on everything they say...that's for sure. The story as told by Priscilla I believe (she remained extremely close with Elvis right up to the last days---they often talked for hours), said that Elvis wanted to do it but the Colonel didn't get along with Barbara at all...and the demands he made were unreasonable.
