    Mead is actually my fav drink IRL, and I've always loved to build up a collection of Honningbrew in my Skyrim playthroughs. Might be a good idea to talk about foods/cultural dishes next throughout Tamriel, you can tell a lot about a people by what cuisines they enjoy to make.

      Fellow mead lover here. And just to chime in on something from the video, I find it odd that the bosmer do not generally make it given that unless you're making a metheglin or a melomel, it doesn't violate the green pact as you can make it without even needing to burn or heat anything (though that generally takes a while).

    • @preyasmanthedemopan2854
      @preyasmanthedemopan2854 2 роки тому +6

      @@harrygeocaris3179 I thought about that too, and while yes honey is technically an animal product, it is also made from pollen... so I think that violates it technically..
      What's your favorite mead flavor btw? Mine was a really good pineapple mead my cousin got me once on my birthday:)

    • @harrygeocaris3179
      @harrygeocaris3179 2 роки тому +1

      @@preyasmanthedemopan2854 i dont think that violates the green pact for 2 reasons, 1 because its the bees taking the pollen not the elves (if this was a violation of the pact then bosmer importing wood and other plant based products would also be a violation), and 2 because what the bees are doing is actually helping the plants in question as the process helps cross pollinate flowers.
      On a side note my favorite meads tend to be simple traditional meads with an abv of 14 -20%, I am also quite fond of a good metheglin. I really like the almost rough/wildness that meads like that impart. They tend to have a character and texture to them that other sweet drinks just don't have.

    It's pretty interesting that Khajiit enjoy sweet things so much when you consider real cats don't have the gene to be able to taste sweetness. @@l0sts0ul89 the main one I referenced in this video involves Rune and the Dragonborn having a drink back at Honeyside, and then a later concept piece where it’s a year or so later and they have an argument after she takes a highly dangerous job in Elswyr. The alcohol type comes into play again because she has a glass of said strong drink before Rune comes in to apologize and beg her not to go. My idea being that she’s commit because the client is also a brotherhood target, and the Night Mother specifically said she had to do it. So Rune goes with her to help where he can. Don’t know if it’ll be fully realized though as it’s a lot to figure out. Lol

    Since we know cats irl can't survive on plants alone but must have meat, it would've made more sense for the Khajiits to have a Green Pact. As it is, Bosmer should be the absolute masters of Mead, since insects are animals. But all my years with TES games, I always assumed they were high while making them. I didn't really mind, since I was too, and it's the simplest way to explain all the mistakes. It even lends a certain charm, unless/until it gets annoying. Like the Blind spell in Morrowind RAISING enemy chance-to-hit, the opposite of what was intended. Unofficial Patch fixes it, but damn.
