    I would rather have more motorcycles than one expensive bike. My dream bike is an Aprilia v4, but the prices of it keeps the dream at bay. Right now I have 3 bikes. Two street ( 2017 GSX-R 750, 2020 GSX-S750 ) and one track bike ( 2011 GSX-R 750 ). Total cost ( without upgrades like suspension ) about 27k. A new Aprilia, about 26k. The plus side is, if I slide one across the pavement, I still have two others to ride. I have a buddy who spent a TON of money on getting his Ducati all set for racing, and the second race of the season, garagesaled it in turn 5. Now he can't afford to fix it, and his season is over.

    I believe if I had that much money to spend on bikes, I’d most likely get 2. I just want a good tourer, and a good dirt road bike. Basically, what I have now. I spent $10,000.00 on the Wing, and $5,000.00 on the Strom. I ride both of them often, well worth the money for what I do with bikes!

    I go with multiple bikes thinking. Yes, I'd love to have a Heritage Revival, but I know that is not in my range of affordability. HOWEVER, the real reason for my multiple bikes, goes back to the old saying "Variety is the Spice of Life" ! I love having a different experience to choose from every day I ride.

    I don't think one bike would cut it for me since I like variety and functionality. The way I have my bikes set up, I have one for around town and one for more distance oriented riding and that's been working out. I'd love to add a 3rd but I'm gonna need to wait for a while before that lol.

    That’s a hard question. I kind of like having two and even 3 came in handy when the other two were down during a popular run up here. Even a new bike can break down and then you have something else to ride. However the maintenance part is getting a little ridiculous. Bahahaha you planned out the 20 grand 🤣. Keeping all in mind of everything you said and trying hard not to repeat. Here's my take. They both have upsides and downsides as you have pointed out. I have done both. I would like to talk about the riding experience by itself. When all you have is one bike you gain the ability to "Wear" the bike. Meaning you gain an intimate relationship with the bike. You know it's limits as far as acceleration, handling and stopping. You have a muscle memory for that bike and that bike alone. Riding the bike becomes like wearing your best fitting clothes. The bike moves with you as if it was clothing. You are in many ways married to it. What a great feeling! Multip[e bikes gives you the ability to ride the bike that best meets your mental state at the moment you decide to ride or best fits in function. You have a need, pick the bike that fits that need. Beautiful! Here's the downside of having multiple bikes from what I have found. I find the idea of being able to wear any of them impossible. Never getting the muscle memory for each bike, being able to access that particular memory and apply it. Also, it's bad to let a machine sit. You may and will have a couple of favorites but be forced to ride a bike you aren't in the mood to ride just because it hasn't been run in a while. IMO

    • @ChopperFett
      @ChopperFett  2 роки тому +1

      Dude epic reply here and you hit the nail on the head. I would say the Z gets 80% of the rides, so I’m starting to wear it. Now the Dyna that I have known for so long has become a stranger to me riding. Still has its purpose but not as confident with her as I used to be.

    Retail prices attempt to reflect the impression of high end or high quality in products however in reality this thinking can lead to many disappointments from expectations. To the starved egos in the market place branding and paying the highest prices is the importance while all with manufactures marketing strategist and Retailers pray on this understanding.
    Once upon a time a high cost delivered a high quality item but in today’s world I high cost is an illusion or a slight of hand or just a very large con for one of a better phrase.
    What truly denotes a quality item in today’s world can only be determined over time and not by cost because industries are in the market place to make a buck and as wide of a margin as possible.
