- From The Depths INSTANT Tutorials, this time we save your hulls by making anti torpedo CIWS to shoot down incoming missiles with torpedoes! Great! [Correction:] After testing again additional Explosive warheads and Frag warheads does not hit the missiles and does not increase damage even though this is what I observed before, maybe it was luck but it is not worth the cost. I recommend you to not have extra Frags for now since it does not work, instead opt for better maneuverability (more fins) and the highest speed possible, you can also opt for better life time if you go for small missiles instead of medium. I can however confirm that medium missiles are stronger than small missiles against big missiles even though they have the same cost.

Updated Correction: Don't add explosive or frag to any interceptor, there is a bug now that makes interceptors not work if they have frag together with them not adding any benefit now, HE also does not add benefits as its damage is not transferred to target for whatever reason. Prefer to use medium interceptors they are much better, and opt for more fins and more speed instead of the warheads I added in the video.

Actually a good trick is giving them sonar since they're going towards missiles for center pieces. Have torpedoes come to it! For that one you built
Propeller/Fins/Fuel Tank/APN Guidance/Fins/Interceptor would work but from what I've gathered smaller but more of them generally works better. So going 4 slots propellor at 1446 w/fins+apn guidance+ interceptor is the best choice goes around 100M/s and 90 degree turn can crank it so they have less life time but only becomes 111m/s /95 degree turn is 108/95.7 and 20 second life time.
Excellent video, i had an idea about anti torpedo missiles, but at the same time a lot of questions, this videos answered almost all! Probably the 2 or 3 things that i not 100% clear, is with experience and building anti torp defenses, also your steam engines video made me create some pretty damm good and efficient engines!

Interesting, I usually go with fixed mounts in the hull for these.
Yeah that works too but one might need them on both sides in some cases so it can get more expensive

Awesome guide, as usual GMod! Is there a target prediction module you can put on as well? I noticed that most of the interceptors were impacting to the rear (or even missing) incoming torps, unless the torp was coming in head-on.
If you're open to requests, can you do an instant tutorial on hovercraft airships? Like, flying using jets/props but not wings or helium.
Not that I know of but you can set it to take acceleration into effect and they might hit better XD

Do the frags actually make contact and hurt the incoming torpedo because on APS they just phase through for some reason?
You know what, I am not sure, first time I tried it seemed to have an effect but now after retesting it seems to have only a little effect or none...
Pretty sure adding warheads to interceptors has no effect. Otherwise, good tutorial.
One can clearly see the shape of the fragments being changed to whatever you set them at, I do think that the ones with frag seem to have much more effect on my end, can you also try it and tell me your testing results? I don't wanna be teaching out wrong tips but I think I am right.

How did you set the turret forward to avoid working upside down?
just put the turret block like you would a normal turret
The top of the turret (Where the weapon usually attaches) will connect to the ship instead when building like this.
