Great video as ever matey - theres no way to ever tell how good quality a model is going to be even from the same manufacturer - bit of a sorry situation when you think about it.on a side note, I think you are quite local to me coud you recommend any MR clubs in south yorkshire? Cheers Shaun
Hi Shaun, thank you for the comment and glad you enjoyed the video. And yes you’re right just because some manufacturers knock it out of the park every time doesn’t mean there won’t be a few naff ones every now and then. And that’s not to say I don’t like the BAA but it is a little too plasticky for the high price tag. And ah a fellow Yorkshireman, unfortunately it’s not something I’ve ever really looked into I’m quiet happy just popping down to shops having a chat, spending too much money and coming back to the shed. I should imagine a quick google or look on Facebook would yield some results for you. Best of luck 😊👍
@@YorkshireRailways haha thats how I play it too, chatting at shops, forums, youtube, pals etc but was just interested if you bothered with a club. Cheers 👍
Like these wagons but have stayed clear of these as I feel they are vastly overpriced for what they are. Cavalex do some similar steel carrier wagons BBA and BLA some with coil cradles and IMO are much better. I purchased some of these when they where on offer. I went for the weathered versions which look superb. If I recall, the underframes on the Cavalex models are all metal. They don't have the loads but look great anyway without.
Hi Jonathan, I liked the look of them when I was in rails, hence the purchase but getting it out the box it does seem a lot to pay for what you get. I’d love to try some Cavalex renditions but have been struggling to find any still available. Thank you for the comment 😊👍
It’s good they add extra detail on the underside, but I’d rather they made the flat bed from die-cast and not put details where no one will see them. Or am I being a sad nit picker? 😂
Hi Jay, I think that’s a point to be made to many manufacturers not just Bachmann. If the chassis was made out of die-cast I think this would be a great model and worth the hefty price tag. I think the detail can still be there as well granted it’s harder to see but from a baseboard level you can see it all from the side but granted from normal viewing you can’t see any. I think somewhere a manufacture will make a happy medium. Thanks for the comment 😊👍
