This train set is such a long-runner, and I don't just mean the number of freight cars. Bachmann began making it in the mid-to-late 1980s, and originally it used a figure-8 track plan (with 90-degree crossing), and then when E-Z Track was introduced they switched to a large oval of that. Then the locomotive began to get better in quality (from a pancake motor to a decent 3-pole can motor with all-wheel drive) and the freight cars had body-mount knuckle couplers added.
My parents gave me this set a long time ago back in the early to mid 2000s in the old version. I will tell you this. Even though it is the same set as the old one, the engine looks so much better than the old one. The paint on the Niagara looks more cleaner and sharper and the details look more finer than the older version. The rolling stock looks more sharper and finer compared to the old ones. Also, the power supply is the modern one from Bachmann. The power supply that came with my old set had a black life-like style power supply. In conclusion, it is nice to see this set get updated to modern times. My only gripe with this set is that it is not DCC-ready.
the overland was run by the up not the nyc
This is the most food review looking model train showcase Ive ever seen
I've seen a few of your reviews on train sets. One thing I really appreciate is that you do a great job of showing us the product in great detail, without any commentary. You let us decide what's good or not good,, or what we like don't like about the product. Kudoos!
Just bought this set at a train show......$80.00........ runs great.
It runs great?! And it was only 80$?!...I need to go to a train show
I've wanted this train set ever since I was a little kid... maybe some day...
Oh yes. I remember having this train set back in december 2005 and i loved it, especially how the steam locomotive looked. It was the best train set i've ever had. Unfortunately, it got wrecked by someone and it was no longer working and i was really fucking pissed off by that. However, 11 1/2 years later, i had another chance, i bought a new overland limited train set and it went pretty well even though there were some small issues with the steam locomotive. i was just happy that i got another chance with this train set since the one back then was destroyed. Now i get to play with it without any annoying problems in the way.
Now i get to play with it without any annoying problems in the way.................... WOW LOL!

Thats just a niagara but with no smokedeflectors and with union pacific tender
Heres proof:
Look at the smokebox it kinda looks like niagara if you look in the google,
Tender of the challenger or 5511,
Painted union pacific greyhound
The creator actually didnt painted the loco, the factory did
Say! I got that train set at the Dayton Train Show a few years ago. I've been wanting it just forever, and now it's finally mine!
You know sometimes these train sets run better than the other ones that you have paid a fortune for
True. But sometimes bachmann has reliability issues, in the couplers. Always best to replace them with Kadee
@@SpheroJr3289 are you able to put those on MTH and BLI HO products?
@@UselessNekoGang erm… everything that has a coupler box?
Not really. Bachmann stuff isnt very good when it comes to its mechanisms
I love this set, really I do. But why is the steam train a Niagara? The Union Pacific never had any. Unless if Bachman knows something we don’t.
Get 22 inch radius curves. It'll save you the headaches from derailments.
YES OMG
I wish, I wish I had my old train set back. Trains, depot, houses, trees, cars, a bridge, people, all sorts of HO scale town models, even working street lights. All by the age of 13. But then carefully packed it away.
Then my older brother sneaked into my bedroom closest and stole it all for his 1st born. I was only 14. The youngest of 6.
I put up a stink of course. He wound up giving me $200 for all of it. Today ? Maybe 3 or $4000.
I know, forgive and forget. Well it seems difficult to do either.
Enough said.
Make him pay the $4000
This train set is what introduced me into model trains
I have this! got it a year ago! It's a great set!
The locomotive is actually a New York Central “Niagara” dressed as a Union Pacific FEF.
Without the smoke deflectors.
I'm obsessed with model trains.
I wish I could get some i live in an area were they are not Available
@@May-The-Tank-Engine You know there's Amazon right?
@@SomeLocoStudios yes and I haved research
@@SomeLocoStudios plus I'm to poor to own that kind of stuff
Hi, obsessed with model trains. I'm SkupperNog.
If I ever get one of those things, the first thing I’d do would be to paint the engine into a New York Central paint scheme.
If you, by any chance, lose the logs on the Great Northern flat car, you can always buy some Slim Jim or Jack Link's Beef Sticks, cut them in thirds, and load 'em. 😆
Lolllllll
That is the best model train hack I have ever heard.

@@anirbandas9003 ?
Now _this_ is what I call a train set!
I agree with you my friend
Awesome UP FEF-1! These are some of the most beautiful steam locomotives ever.
that is a not a FEF-1, that is a *NYC Niagara* in Union Pacific greyhound paint with a Vanderbilt tender
Don’t correct him I know he’s wrong but still don’t correct him

Hi World Of Trains iam From India i love ur Train Collections and Please do Indian Railway Set Please 🇮🇳 INDIAN RAILWAYS.
Man if i had the money and room for these things my life would be a much different experience lol

You can always fit in a Railroad or Railway as we say in the UK. Even a micro layout can be heaps of fun. I spent an enjoyable evening with my boys watching a train go round. Even my brother and one of his sons joined in. It's not easy but well worth it.
there's always N SCALE
*money*
@Bolly650 not sure what had you comment on a 2 year old comment but thanks for the reminder I suppose
Nice, a classic steam freight set.
Looks the part, nicely presented.
This Is my favourite train set ever l wish l Can have this train set then it will be so cool
I love these videos. Keep up the good work sir.
I really want model trains but I don’t have enough money
If I ever get this, I’m gonna repaint the engine into N.Y.C. colors, as it’s a Niagara but with U.P. Grayhound
Had this set since I was a child about 2 decades ago and only ever ran it maybe twice
What's with the robot suit.???
man i would really love to get one. I really love trains and I had a toy train when I was child with lighta on it. Turning off my room light and watching it go around.
Hi World Of Trains! Your videos inspire me to make trains in Minecraft I love your channel!
Tip for the future from an experienced modeler: build your train from the back forwards. It's easier to build them that way.
I'm just getting started in the hobby, actually. This is a great review.
Me to i just got two cars for my NKP 765 to pull
I'm not surprised this cost *$445.00* because of the locomotive it is and the whole big train you get
On trainworld.com you can find it for 220$
I mean with nine wagons and a locomotive the size of Russia what do you expect. Plus the massive loop of track, I just wish more of the track had 1 or 2 points, enough for a inglenook shunting challenge.
17:36 polar express vibes
I love all trains
I Love That Bachmann Union Pacific HO Freight Set.
This set looks awesome!! And also I didn’t know that smoke comes out of the engine!!
I bought the exact set which started my hobby 😎👍🏻
Same here buddy! My son and I are well on our way to becoming railroad tycoons! Lol
Hell yea man🤘🏻
Is this a good set to get into the hobby? If so i may get this
@@CovBert I think it's a good set to start with but I'd also look into the bachmann digital commander set. You get two engines that are dcc controlled for nearly the same price
And also I love this set
Ok dose anyone else get the creepy murder vibe when watching this? Complete silence, all black rubber gloves....got them murderer vibes lol
I do
Big time as soon as it started I was like have to check the comments 😅😂
I get dexter morgan vibes.
i always put the caboose first so the crew can access it easier from the locomotive
That's The Biggest Train Set I Saw Cause Of The Number Of Cars
Out the box and the couplers aren't the same height
This set is jaw-dropping cool. I remember being so jealous of my friend that received similar sets (at a lower quality actually, but still) from their parents. Now I can afford something like this but I don't have the space in my 1/43 scale collection.
So if in the past I used to admire these train sets at my friend's home, now I am doing the same, but on UA-cam 😅😅
Uma locomotiva fabulosa!!!
🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃
With gloves and a jacket like that I’m wondering if this dude stole that set.
I also don't know why he uses gloves
The engine is just NYC Niagara without smoke deflectors and a different tender with the Union Pacific greyhound livery.
I noticed that i didn't know that until I read this and reasearch
I'd like to say Bachmann did it to save on production costs by not having to spend extra on another HO scale 4-8-4 shell, and since these are going to first-time modelers, they figured that market wouldn't be too picky about accuracy.
If dexter morgan opened and put together a train set:
I have this set. Love it!
Very nice REVIEW.
Me gustó mucho,gracias
*UP Niagara......NANI?!?!?!?!?!?!*
Woooou,great composicion. Very nice!
Very good video.Enjoy it thanks
The smoke!
Also don't use a DCC controller on that train cuz you're going to burn the motor right out of it it's meant for other diesel engines and steam trains that have sound quipped but I bet you can make that engine sound proof or you need a tsunami2 that's the motherboard to make it sound with all the bills and whistles and announcements and the steam
Nice Train Set
Remember sets sell for all different prices. You should never pay the MSRP. Walmart has this for half of what Bachmann lists this at.
what kind of walmart do u go to that not only sells HO scale train sets, but also sells them at half price?
@@Bolly650 On line versus Bachmann's MSRP.
It's nice set and all but they put the paint on the wrong locomotive you see the locomotive is a NYC Niagara and the paint is a the U.P ala union Pacific grey hound scheme and NYC never even had corporate with U.P nor non of there locomotives has that paint scheme so why did they factory gave the NYC Niagara the greyhound paint scheme
Excellent set.
Why are you pushing against the train while running it full ahead ? Does that mess up the wheels and motor ?
Probably
Very cool
The point of the track that you plug in is a re-Railer built in. And of course for power.
Cool train set👍👍❤️🤩
Bruh literally that’s Daylight’s exact wheelbase and rod configuration lmao
Estoy enamorado 😻 de este set. ¡Lo quiero! ¿Saben dónde lo puedo encontrar en Peru 🇵🇪?
I've noticed on every review at least 2 of the drivers wobble or are out of round, which in my experience causes things to go out of Guage or vibrate loose. Better Q.C. tooling seems to be an ongoing dilemma with Bachmann. The real high end stuff is better but I have a few of these and all have some minor fault here and there. As far as what you pay they perform more than adequately, and with minor care and adjustments should last a lifetime. Do not over oil , as this causes all your
Screws and rivets in you drive rods to loosen and fall off. Also excessive oil picks up dirt and grime and causes frequent track cleaning and bad electrical continuity.
Que gran juguete 😱
Yo quiero un tren de esos
That is one heck of a set.
I love love love love so much the BACHMANN-HO overland classical train means this train 💪💪💯💯💯💯💙💙💙
I’d like to buy this to pull my Amtrak Soon-To-Be Silver Meteor!
Instablaster...
How come your steam locomotive doesn’t squeak? Each time I run this set, the rods squeak.
*its called LUBRICATION OIL! use it sparingly on the coupling rods and motion and it will stop the squeaking*
@@nikerailfanningttm9046lubrication oil costs money
Needs nickle silver track not alloy, other wise amazing set.
Funny enough, mine came with it. Must be certain versions that didn’t have it.
Heres a tip. The smoke juice you get in these sets i feel is crap. So in my train I use omg nicotine grape flavored vape juice. Works well and way more smoke
I got this set and the engines smoke box ruined the inside of the train and bachmann "couldn't help me" I still like bachmann but, be careful with what you get
mine is all show, no go. Most likely has the cracked gears that has plagued Botchmann... er... Bachmann since the seventies. I understand there are folks who 3D print replacement gears.
Me rre vuelve loco que me gusta los trenes
Wow🥰👍🇧🇩✌
i'm love trains❤🤗
It bugs me how in Bachmann videos he says LIMITED there limited
Say what
Bro thats the name of the set its not an limited edition model
Does anyone know if this is the largest HO scale set you can buy? Largest by number of cars and not necessarily track length.
Most likely yes
That the only bachman train that have a lot of carts
Been wanting to get this set but the one thing stopping me is the locomotive for this set bachmann decided to be lazy and redressed their New York Central Niagra locomotive instead of putting in a union pacific design (like the fef northern) and having a union pacific Niagara wouldnt look right to me I hope that change the engine or even just tinker with the original Niagara design to make the model look more union pacific looking plus I dont think the U.P greyhound paint scheme fits it to well it would have been better off and more realistic if it was U.Ps black freight hauler scheme the rest of the set is fine.
Bachmanns always been cheap so I wouldn't get your hopes up they put a more region correct locomotive in the set.
I've actually taken a few of these and repainted them to the proper railroad, lol.
Isn't the engine a new york central niagara but In union pacific colours
The engine looks like the polar express one's.......👌🏼👌🏼
That’s a lot of train cars ant that is the biggest set I have ever seen keep up the good work
where can i buy something like this
Id love to find. That in N gauge .
😊 тонкой уминья есть уже тоже
That's the model train I had
❤❤❤❤
I need help opening her up the steam engine if someone can help me I’ll be really grateful
Super. 💙 T.E.N.
Ah ... So typical bachman "workman ship"
beutiful good
Is the engine dcc ready?
I don’t think so
Look like nyc niagare
But it is an NYC niagara
aku suka andaikan aku punya pasti seru
