  • I was not certain how to do any of the original install for the Motohorn and had to figure it all out. I found no useful videos to help me through some of the install parts that I really needed help figuring out. So I made a video to help the next guy. I made some mistakes in that video. A helpful viewer pointed out some of the mistakes I made and then Motohorn reached out to me and asked if I’d be willing to make another video, fixing my mistakes. So this video builds on my original video and is intended to serve as a how-to step-by-step guide for those dummies out there, like me, who need more help than the user manual alone provides. I hope this helps you!

    Connectors that have solder inside them are the best to use, no crimping and more secure.

    Thanks Harold. I installed mine. your video was very helpful. I added rubber padding around the compressor in the same location just like where you put yours. The Y connectors is clever idea.

    Good video and informative. Definitely better than the other ones that I have seen previously. I would suggest though maybe better positioning/angling of the camera, for example, when you're sitting down as there was more body shot than of the horn and couldn't really see what was going on with the process throughout the video.

      It might sound like that on some bikes but not mine. Regardless, it’s a turner. Even at the Harley dealership when they tested the horn, about 8 employees had to come back to see what that sound was

      I sense sarcasm there but it’s not large at all. Everyone that sees it seems to love it and, most importantly, it serves the function I installed it for.

      The sound has already helped me avoid ending up in a ditch, twice. Definitely not a train horn but very loud and that was my goal when installing it. Make my bike heard by the box riders.

    I installed the Motohorn 2.0 (NOT the one above) on my 2019 Fat Boy 114 and also on my buddys 2016 Softail Deluxe CVO. My Fat Boy install took about 2.5 hours because of idiotic HD engineering. My buddys CVO? 10 minutes. I didn't replace/cut/run any wires on either bike because it simply wasn't necessary. Ill bet that the install above didn't need the wires or relay kit either. Horns sound great on both bikes and Harley should be ashamed for putting a $2 horn on both.

    • @ClauddvonMauddivv
      @ClauddvonMauddivv  Рік тому

      It sounds like your setup was only the Motohorn then and you opted to not use the sound from the stock horn. 10 minutes? Nah...takes that long to get the seat off and get to the battery compartment. But yes, it can be faster if you're only installing the motohorn. Running wires through a relay (which requires running wires) is definitely necessary if you want sound from both horns. No other way to do it. Glad you got your horn done in....a shorter amount of time. Good job!

      @glickmpb Рік тому

      @@ClauddvonMauddivv That is correct. I purchased the motohorn that you installed above but there was nowhere to mount it on my bike without it looking stupid. So, I got the Motohorn 2.0 (The smaller dual horns) and mounted them in the original spot while removing the original horn. The original horn is a total PoS and I wanted to remove it. It sounded like a foreign car (Beep! Beep!) and its terrible HD would put that on their bikes. My buddys CVO's horn went bad and this was a decent replacement. We both hated the stock horns and thats why I didn't feel the need to do the wires.

      @ClauddvonMauddivv  Рік тому

      @@glickmpb I love the multi tone effect of having more than one horn. You installed the dual tracks it sounds like. It’s a very easy job if you only want to swap stock horn out with one of the Moro horn products, though.

    Ummmm, only a second of listening time? You own a harley and you're worried about your neighbors hearing a horn for more than a tenth of a second? Jezus, just sell your bike man.
    Next time, sound that horn first! That's all anyone wants to hear to see if they want to buy one. Then you give em the install procedure and make it as long as you want.
