Customers want CarPlay and Android Auto. We don't want to PAY A SUBSCRIPTION to use a map that hard-core touring riders will use as a back-up at best. I have several mapping/trackng apps on my phone and so many OEMs insist we download their data gathering apps and make us PAY for it? Nope. I'll chop my hand off before I pay a subscription to use what's already on my phone.

This and the Mandel V100 are the only bikes out there that would sway me away from an Aprilia Tuono.

I would not like a bike with radar activated brakes. I have driven semi's with adaptive cruise control and radar activated brakes. Certain conditions cause the system to slam the brakes on for no good reason. Merely annoying going straight. In a corner and or inclement weather, especially snow & ice. Can cause accidents & kill you and or someone else. It is simply not perfected yet. Worse in rain & snow, when you least need the system to brake hard.
Bikes are getting way to computer controlled. Going to kill someone with radar & computer controlled braking. I have been riding for 54 years. I have never had a bike with rider aids. They are not necessary, yes I have had liter sport bikes with way more power than you need on the street. Rider aids cause inexperienced riders to ride way above their skill level. I wonder how many have been killed because they were relying upon the rider aid, then a momentary failure of the system, or does not react fast enough.

Agree. I guess the only way to avoid this is to never use it’s adaptive cruise control system, ever.

@@BuckyUSA Problem is that some rider aids cannot be turned off. ABS in many cases cannot be turned off. Even though it has been proven with cars, semi's, motorcycles. Stopping distance is increased. It helps for people who lock up their brakes in panic situations. Yet, does not allow for best braking for those that do not lock up their brakes.
My understanding is that in the EU. ABS is mandatory & cannot be turned off. Politicians & regulators want to save lives. Yet rarely have real life experience in things they want to regulate.
I have no desire to purchase a new bike that I cannot turn off rider aids. Sensors fail all the time. I really do not want my life to depend upon a part that commonly fails.
We are increasingly being forced feed crap that we really do not need. Every week 1-3 riders get killed where I live. Half it was because they were going way to fast for traffic conditions. The other half, many would have been able to avoid the crash. If they had been better prepared.
I have been taken out by cars 3 times over 54 years. In each case there was no time to do anything. Rider aids would not help. In one case if I had abs, I would not have been able to slow as much as I did.
Majority of the rider deaths. Rider aids played no part other than increasing their stopping distance.
I started riding in the dirt at 6 years old. I am of the school of, all riders should ride in the dirt before transitioning to the street. Riding on the dirt teaches how to slide, throttle control, clutch control, proper shifting, brake control, balance & body position.
You learn the limits without getting yourself killed or seriously injured. Wrecking is the best way to learn. Wrecking is common in the dirt. Especially when learning.
I suppose part of the reason for all the rider aids. It is due to all the people that start riding on the street. Of course wreck, due to finding the limits in a dangerous setting. Getting themselves killed due to inexperience.
Probably the best rider aids. Is the cornering abs. As panic braking while in a corner with changing road surface, pot holes, tar snakes, debris, sand, etc. Is the most challenging, to get best stopping distance without locking up the front tire.
Most riders do not use their front brake to it's fullest potential. Yet when the adrenaline hits & hast to get on the brakes fast. It is easy to squeeze that front brake lever to hard & lock the front tire. Therefore cornering abs is probably a good thing for inexperienced & experienced riders. If the system is refined enough. Should be able to squeeze hard & maintain stability.
Though I have seen no one testing out cornering abs. Never seen a video. Makes me wonder how affective it is. Does it pulse like straight up braking. If it does, that could be very problematic while leaned over.
I am not against rider aids. I simply want to be able to turn that crap off if I so choose.
