This was one season where none of the games were ever really in doubt. During the OJ years, USC had to rally to win some close games, but this 1972 team dominated everyone.
I’m not going to disagree, because I’m an SC fan since 67. But, that’s a hard one to back up with any data, because there’s been sooooo many great teams since then. Let’s at least agree, that no UCLA team has never, nor will they ever make such a claim, ha ha, Go So. Cal!
Great great video! Love the music from the era! Teared me up seeing Sam Cunningham going over the top for all those touchdowns. What great days those were!
Always a thrill to watch my all-time favorite Trojan, Anthony Davis, running in his unique style, giving it 110% and doing the knee dance in the end zone.
I was at that game, sitting in the West area, closer to the end zone where Anthony Davis scored. I had never seen a Woody Hayes Ohio State team get manhandled so much. He got us back the next year, though. This was the game where Hayes assaulted L.A. Times Photographer, Art Rogers on the field before the game. The Buckeyes were no match for this team. No one was , really. We called Sam Cunningham "Superman" for all those leaps into the end zone. Great to see Fred McNeil get some carries, too.
yeah he beat USC the next year, lost the year after that and lost to ucla the year after that and clemson all because he knew nothing about the passing attack. And he admitted too he said the game had passed him bye and he didn't know enough about the passing game. He was a sad old man when he left the game.
The Trojans ran Student Body Right and Student Body Left throughout the first half, then opened up the passing game. Ohio State had no passing game to speak of and hadn't faced any Big 10 teams that passed much either. The game was real mismatch.

This USC team was the best football ever.
@@dukemoose1307 If it wasn't, I can't imagine another team better. Anthony Davis never got the Heisman, but should have
"That 72 USC team could have beat some pro teams."
Archie Griffin
The greatest college football team ever!

1972 USC; Best college football team ever!
John McKay was a super great college coach
There was never any doubt when this squad hit the field. Pure domination. Greatest football team the college world has ever seen.
Another SC whoop ass defeat of OSU.
Sam "Bam" Cunningham 4 touchdowns...classic.

One of the greatest college football teams ever assembled, Lynn Swan, Anthony Davis, etc
Watching some of the great USC teams of all time never gets old. Especially with Conquest playing in the background.

USC BABY!!!
this team was and is the greatest college football team ever assembled. hof players on that roster.
IMO The best group of offensive players ever assembled on a college football
team. The second half of the Notre Dame game was "PERFECTION".
Classic USC team introductions love it.
