Olivia....proud of your spelling grade. I enjoyed looking up definitions and writing sentences for my spelling words but I struggled with remembering how to actually spell them until I took typing. We couldn't look at our hands as we typed so that helped me learn how to spell better. Also loved seeing your family say the blessing before meal time. I was raised like that and raised my children to pray too. Your parents are great parents!

I love the toenail idea...I am sure we will have to use that in the future. I love how your daughter is so smart...tell her it is from all the veggies we see her eat. It is hard to get my son to eat veggies. My son does eat seaweed, carrots and peas at least I guess...lol

I just got home 3 days ago from a month away,1 week in hospital and 3 weeks in a nursing-rehab center and I have such a hard time walkin.g and both knees are completely shot,so I was thinking today about putting some grip tape on the floor of my walk in shower. I don't need my toenails filed but it might make it not so hazardous. Canes are disastrous on wet tile. I loved the longer video. I really miss the beautiful roosters and hens You gave away with the barred rocks. Can't wait for the new goat(s).

Your Squash looks like a Golden Hubbard. They are awesome storage squash and great eating. Both as a savory baked squash and instead of pie pumpkin purée for pumpkin pies. I also use them in Mock Apple Cobbler.
I would recommend a bottle of Kopertox for your goats feet. Use for knicks and to have on hand in case you get scald or foot rot. We use it for our sheep. [It is not cheap but a small bottle on hand is a good investment in prevention]

Al, not sure if this would work for goats or not, BUT a friend of mine runs a dog grooming business. She also shows a few breeds of dog. Since she has to work with them so much in the grooming stand, she started training them every day. Every day (or at least every other), she would put each puppy on the table as if they were being groomed. She would brush their hair a little bit. Check their skin and teeth and whatever health items needed to be checked. She would usually turn the trimmers on, but just let them sit on a table. The point is that the puppies got used to being on the table and being "handled" so when they got older and needed those services, it was no big deal. Even though you aren't miking the little ones, it can't hurt to put them in the stand, give them a little brush and check their health. Give them a little treat and after a few weeks, they will probably let you do whatever you need to do!!

Question do you have another spool? instead of laying it flat stand it up and attach a 2 by 8 or so, something of length from you may have laying around and make a seesaw or teeter-totter. Are you taking it through your extension agency or up in Maine Goat School? We wanted to take the goat school in Maine in October but had some family commitments. Also the NH extension agency has a great program through 4H for kids on a weekend in July. My nine year old son went and it was his first overnight camp. He loved it and has already told me he is going next July. He learned how to trim hooves, shave them for shows, care, and first Aid info. Such an amazing program and really built his confidence and learned so much!

I think that they are seeds that were purchased to produced a specific fruit but are not open pollinated seeds, hence when they reproduce they do not reproduce after its specific kind (the kind or type that your bought originally) so there product is random. Not entirely sure.
