Hi, Mark. Thanks for sharing your opinion. Some of the featured models do come with a portable toilet, and those that are over 20k are off-road capable, hence the price. At least this is what manufacturers say)
Lol. I need sleeping for six with a price tag under $8,000. I could go on and on about what some of these trailers should have with a price like that. Ridiculous.
Hi, triplealley. In your situation, building your own is definitely the way to go. Doubt there is anything on the market with this price and the capacity that you need
My money will go soon to The Teardrop Trailer #8 for one of their 5x8 woody models. I like their old school shape, minimalist design, light weight, low-cost and I only live 1 hr away.

I like the I pod but they should make a larger model with a bathroom with a full bed and do a outdoor kitchen fridg, gas grill, microwaves folding table and chairs that can be stored underneath the camper. That would be cool oh! And a attached tent for dining
Notice that each one of these mini-campers is shown in perfect, bluebird weather. Think about camping in one of these "bread boxes" in a sustained three days of pouring rain or in a really buggie area (Maine or Alaska). Going just a little larger is huge. There are some 12-14 foot units that feature inside kitchens, small but usable bathrooms and the ability for an average person to stand up. Price is the same. These units are just too small IMO to be practical.
I like the basic idea, but haven’t seen a layout that works for me. #1, need some kind of bathroom capability, including a way to clean up self (shower?). I’m tall and I saw few that would allow me to lay straight. Might consider designing and building my own to get what I need, but didn’t see any that I’d be willing to buy.
@@MustSeeTech lol, I find the 747 interesting but ill never be able to buy one so what's the point? In other words these high dollar teardrop kinda miss the point.

Then design a my pod that you can attach two my pod's to and make the center my pod a galley or a enclosed restroom with fantastic fan and a separate shower stall. 😊

Must See Tech look up the little guy max, it’s a great camper and you could have no problem living in it, but with the smaller ones it wouldn’t be great
Let me just say-while a "lightweight" design may sound cool and versatile, after having a terrible roll over accident with a light A-frame pop up-it's not worth the risk. If/when a tire blows, it will flip in a heartbeat causing the tow vehicle to fish-tail violently with potentially terrible consequences. Bottom line, even with a light trailer, I would NEVER tow without a brake controller.
The video has enough info to get a picture of what each model has to offer. If i want more detailed info i can look it up myself. It´s nice with a video that presents a couple of models in different style/price range. If i could change anything with the video i would remove the background music. For me who has trouble hearing voices (many years of work with steel) when there is background noice it is hard to hear the narrator. It also would be a good idea to separate voice and text info. It is better to do the talking first and then lay in text (then you can have music while showing text), or the other way.
The visual quality of these is excellent, with good information. However, because the author of these videos insists on doing the voice-over himself, the narration is un-listenable and the techno music is great if you live in Europe and have no tastes whatsoever. Must turn the sound down. Other than that, great!
I think many people miss the point of these small trailers. If you're a full-time RV'r this will not fit your needs. If you're a weekend camper (like me), this may be what you're looking for. I recently sold my 32-ft class-A RV. Biggest waste of money in my life! Paid $20K for it...owned it for 7-years...took it on ONE cross country road trip...sold it for $6K. I'm a weekend camper, not an RV'r. The RV was simply too much work to take out for overnight and weekend trips. It sat in my driveway for most of it's life. I recently purchased a 6x8 Runaway Range Runner Camper. I paid $6.5K (with options) for it...it's simple, small, and easy to tow with my Tacoma. I absolutely love it, because it's perfect for me...for what I do...weekend camper. It's basically a hard-sided tent on wheels. Now I agree that the price on many of these is outrageous, but consider what you're getting. If you don't need the extreme off-road capability, or the premium kitchens and materials, the price goes down considerably. If you need more than a fancy tent on wheels, these aren't for you.
Hi. I think your comment describes the purpose of these mini campers perfectly. Many people comment that the one can buy a used RV for the money, but the question still is whether you need it. Thanks for sharing your opinion!
Another point that many have missed is weight. Many vehicles today have a tow rating of 1500 pounds or less. One or two people who want something they can tow that is more substantial than a tent may find this is an option. I grew up vacationing with an old Apache camper. Basically a trailer with two slide out beds covered with a canvas tent that was raised by hand. No air conditioning or heat. No electrical connections except a pull chain light we hooked to the car battery. It was small and went nearly anywhere much like these. It was dry, but scary in a rain storm and had to be set up after the trip, cleaned, and dried before storage. And resprayed with water repellent once a year. At least these would save the time and effort of a couple of days work preparing it for storage after a long weekend getaway. They aren’t for everyone. But then some people aren’t interested in a 60’ 400 hp home on wheels that gets 5 miles to a gallon of fuel, can barely get off a paved road, or fit in a four car garage. Some people just want to go camping on the weekend with a little less hassle that setting up a tent.
