      + Rose Johnson - I agree; and I thought the white tone-on-tone fabric and that soft peach thread and binding was just right touch to give this quilt a soft, feminine look.

    So glad you mentioned the fusible batting. I'm quilting a small quilt made from an old wedding dress and mother of the bride dress. I usually long arm quilt but this is small and all embroidered with trupunto designs. I want to use a backing covered with the blue chiffon. At least the backing will be controlled by the fusible batting.
    Great job on the Hearts, Hearts, Hearts. Happy Valentine's Day.

    That was great! I love it when you demonstrate a quilt design, you make it look east enuf for me think MAYBE I can do it. I am going to try this on my next one....unless I get real daring and try to use the 'technique' using a daisy type flower. Thank you so much!!

      Jolene Shindler I just made my 3rd quilt.. ever! I hate quilting.. I'm a monster piecer though! and I love binding! quilting, uhhhg! I have a brand new, fancy to me, babylock Rachael and hubby got me the biggest extension table possible for it! although... my quilt hangs off the edge, it's heavy, gets stuck on the edge of the xt table, lifts up the table.. omg I get so frustrated! such a bummer! I keep trying but my triangles look like I had a seizure mid stride! I am determined to learn this! I AM A QUILTER!!! I WILL never pay $150 for someone to quilt it again! ever!! I need to make a weightless stand but I feel like a lap quilt just doesn't need it! OK that's it lol!! 😄

      Melinda, Sink your machine in a table and you will be amazed how much easier quilting and sewing is! I have a homemade version and the gidget 2. Either way, I can't go back to a table top machine. Good luck!

    Wonderful tutorial--yours always are! I was wondering about the iron on batting. Over time does using a product like this "gunk" up your machine? Or is that just with the spray on adhesive some use.

    I just love the humming sound of a sewing machine in action! Thank you for another wonderful tutorial! Is a stitch regulator the same as a walking foot? Beautiful quilt! ♡♡♡♡♡

    • @kjordan5456
      @kjordan5456 7 років тому +2

      No. The walking foot is different. Basically the BSR (Bernina) is for free motion quilting with the feed dogs down. With the walking foot the feed dogs are up. You can search Bernina BSR and Bernina Walking foot here on UA-cam and watch their videos. Personally, I thinking both feet are useful although the BSR takes some practice.

    Now I am going crazy 9n UA-cam... I finally figured out how to quilt.. and finally got my quilt top done and all ready to put something beautiful on it to make it really stand out.. I'm not gonna lie, I love to do hard before easy.... not sure why I am like that.. I didnt want just plain straight lines. Just because I feel the quilt I have made is 4 inch blocks (skull pixel quilt) .. and it is so colorful not sure what I was thinking... I do love it, it is a gift for my sister, that was suppse to be done at christmas.. sorry if I ramble and run on sentences,, I get excited... my brain works fast... lol.. anyways. I didnt realize how hard this part was gonna be.. and I said I've been practicing for about 2 hours now and still dont thi k I'm going to be able to do this.. and I tried the straight lines, my sewing machine is just too small to fit it all thru, and had it all crazy... took that apart.. yes, took forever... I'm learning.. thank you for sharing with us.. I have watched u alot over the last couple months along with other... I hope I get this soon..if you want to help me along. U can email me at wildheart21502@gmail.com.. i would love that... thank you again for all you do..

    Love the clear table cloth cover for practicing the quilt pattern. And LOVE your videos. Thanks so much!! However, Wanted to ask you if you are happy with your Bernina. I finally invested in one after waiting for years. I have had a lot of trouble with my feed dogs not working right. I have fought with it more than being able to simply enjoy my sewing. Cannot get Bernina to fully repair it nor will they replace it. Anyway...., do love your tutorials, but just wondering if you’ve had any issues with your machine. Thank you!!

    Hi Laura
    I can see that you are sewing on a Bernina, and you are sewing very fast, is it ok even though the red ligh is on?

    • @SewVeryEasy

    I've recently been diagnosed with an illness for which I don't have enough money in my budget to pay for. And every week the symptoms seem to increase. At first I thought it might have something to do with my age. However, several doctors have told me it's not unusual for women of any age to have it. In fact, it's an ailment that more and more people are acquiring these days and it seems to be particularly prevalent among those who sew or quilt. Maybe you have friends in your own circle in the same situation? As it turns out, pharmaceutical companies have not yet come up with a psychotropic drug to combat this nagging illness. By now you may have guessed what it is I'm faced with; it's called "Ineeditous". I had a serious attack of it today when I saw you use your stitch regulator foot. Alas! I do not own a Bernina (I've already had many anxious moments dreaming of owning a magical sewing machine like yours). But today's attack actually brought tears to my eyes. My hopes are to find a support group with individuals who share this same diagnosis and learn from them how I can overcome it or combat it without checking into some kind of asylum before I die.
    Okay, it's Valentine's Day in the U.S. and I wanted to send a humorous card to you to put a smile on your face like you do for your subscribers (and new viewers) with every video you post for us on YT. Today you showed us how beautiful a whole cloth quilt can be (for even a confident beginner) with a comparatively easy free motion design of Hearts, Hearts, Hearts and that nifty stitch regulator foot (of course I want one . . .). It was a fun surprise when you opened your hands at the end to reveal that appliquéd heart used to cover a possible quilting mistake. Oh, the lucky mother-to-be who receives that quilt.

    ...I talked with a few ladies at my local Quilt show this month; they have used, and do not like....a stitch regulator.....even a well known lady who does quilt tutorials said not to use one, just practice without one....I would think they would be awesome to use! Has anyone out there used one and not like it? and why? They are pretty pricey! probably about $500 for my machine!
