On the quilt top yes, through the layers no. It's too thick and if you use a regular foot it will bunch your backing. You have to use a foot that is designed for the layers.

I have never had Good Measure rulers slip! I never add the handigrip because I have seen it scratch rulers!

Can you use it with decorative stitches?
Can you use a satin or open toe foot so that you can stitch your decorative stitches in a circle?
