    So I have the sawgrass sG500 and my prints are just dull but I’m using vivid for my prints. I’m doing shirts. And as for time, temp so many people tell you diff so I’m not sure if that’s my issue in doing 400 degrees for 50 seconds on a poly blend shirt. What do you think my issue could be?

    In you PM settings for your painted/colored tumblers, for materials you had ceramic/glass selected. Is that what you use? I was told by SG to use the metal settings. I heard some use poly and I’ve even used ss tumbler setting… what do you use and what is the difference between all of them?

    • @amycreates1075
      @amycreates1075  Рік тому

      To be honest, I've used several of those settings and I don't see much difference between them. I find the biggest difference is the option for vivid, photographic, graphic, etc. I have used both the metal white/silver option and ceramic option and as long as I check vivid my tumblers turn out great.

    • @amycreates1075
      @amycreates1075  Рік тому

      Hi! With sublimation, there is no white ink. Unfortunately, this is a limitation of sublimation and means it can’t print on dark colored shirts or black mugs. Now, you can purchase color changing sublimation mugs. I believe heat press nation offers ones that start white and the change to black once warm coffee/water is placed in it.

      Is it looking that way after the press or before the press? If it is after the press, it might be the pressing time is a little too long or the temp is a bit too high if its coming out with a more brown/dark orange look.

      To be honest, I've used several different ones. I normally do metal- while/silver but I've used the ceramic option before (on accident) and it works great too on that setting. Personally, I think the color options (vivid, photographic, etc.) matter the most since that controls how much ink is being laid down on the paper with the print.

    How hard should the press should press the mug? I’m using 400 f and 250 seconds. With the first mugs it worked great but now the outcome is faded. Can it be that is pressing it too hard?

    • @amycreates1075
      @amycreates1075  Рік тому

      No I wouldn’t think that would have too much effect on it being faded or not. You don’t need the pressure to be so high that it’s hard to close the press but it should be a decent amount so the tumbler is snug and secure for the press. Has anything else in the pressing process changed since the ones you did that worked? Paper change? Different mug supplier or different batch of mugs?

    My sawgrass doesn’t have all those options, I just have vivid and photographic I am using easysubli ink, my tumblers are coming out faded and not even. I am using a tumbler press should I not use butcher paper? I also tried shrink sleeves .

    • @amycreates1075
      @amycreates1075  2 роки тому +1

      Interesting it sounds like a couple of things might be the issue.
      1) your ink. If you are using easysubli ink with something like mugs or tumblers it tends to be more faded than ink like sublijet (also for sawgrass printers just a bit different). Easysubli works best on printing on the special transfer vinyl while sublijet works best for mugs, tumblers, hard surface sublimation items. I think this might be the issue here. Because, while easysubli ink will work, will be more faded /less vibrant on mugs & tumblers.
      2) the tumbler itself. Where did you purchase the tumblers from? It could be a bad batch if tumblers but if you’re purchasing from a large reputable company that’s likely not the case. (But wanted to mention it just in case)
      3) last issue could be time/temperature that you are pressing it at. How long and at what temp do you press in the mug press for?

The sub ink usually comes with a recommended setting. If that is correct, and it's still coming out dull I would check the pressing time and temp to see if that might also be effecting the color outcome.

      Make sure you’re printing through the correct print manager or color managing profile. If you are and the blacks are still coming out brown, it’s likely that it needs less time& or less temp when pressing. When it comes out brown it’s typically an indication of over pressing.
