Thank you so much for the video! Getting ready to replace my turbo and needed to have a detailed video on draining the coolant tank before disconnecting it. Basically becoming a part-time mechanic because of how expensive labor is at auto shops to work on my 6.0 powerstroke diesel. Was going to cost me over $3,000 for a new turbo and labor!!! Brand new turbo cost me $740... at east $1600 for labor alone. Lol doing it myself 😂 Thanks again sir!
If you only drain from the radiator you will only get 3 gallons out (+ or -). You would have to drain the Block (2 sides) and the heater core to get all 6 gallons out. If you don’t flush the engine with water only use 50/50 mix. If you flush the system a few times with distilled water and don’t drain from the block, the “hidden 3 gallons” will be basically water. So then use 3 gallons of concentrate, it will mix wit the 3 gallons of water in the block to make a 50/50 mix. You want to stay in the range is 40% to 60% coolant / water ratio.
Important but stupid question. Sorry I assume that the drain is Lefty Loosey dumb question but I don't want to break that. plastic. Meaning I would turn the petcock to the left to start the drain thank you so much
This is a coolant change not a coolant flush.
