Thank you for the video. I just got my assembled trusdx a few minutes ago and trying to get started. ALL my computer control panel settings are at maximum for my speaker audio volume according to several videos telling how to get high volume audio from my computer. Although there's a lot of videos I can hear even when I turn down the video volume control I still can't hear this video. Ooooohhhhh All the advertisements attached your video I can hear really good. Is there a video on the trusdx that's recorded a lot louder? Thank you.
I'd find it very convenient if it was possible to disable PTT in software, so I wouldn't need a special cable. But such a nice little radio, thanks for all!
There are adapters that let users get the mike/speaker from an iPhone. Is there any digital-mode software that works with iPhones (or Android phones) and gives CAT plus the digital modes. The combination would be far more portable than any system involving a laptop. And echoing that tiny (tru)SDX screen on an iPhone would be marvelous for those of us with aging eyes.
In Direwolf, the options to use PTT are RTS or DTR. Would these work with the signals that (tr)uSDX is sending to the COM port? Which one would I use? Or should I just use VOX? What I'm trying to do is operate APRS on the 30m band. I don't know whether I can do that successfully with only 5w, but let's see. I was in a discussion with the operator of an I-gate in Seattle who received my APRS signals sent from Utah with a 10w radio and he said that they were pretty weak. Maybe I'm going to have to use Robust Packet.
I have no clue, what direwolf is, but CW can be triggered by RTS (independent from key line). For PTT (on any other mode but CW) you should use CAT Command. 73 Manuel; DL2MAN
