Mr. Paul, I have had one of these for 6 months and I love it. It's far from perfect, but when you consider what it's capable of, it's truly amazing piece of technology.
A Radio Club colleague did some masterful tuning of the toroids, changed the MOSFETS on my Classic Band version, I now get 5w out on all bands with 13.8v in. A game changer.
Question is this your first HF radio? If so why did you choose this? Asking because I just upgraded to general and want an HF radio that's not to costly.
@ I bought a G90 and the trUSDX about the same time. Both being my first ever radio. So far I have zero regrets on either purchases. Just being sure to follow the good advice to buy quality coax (low loss), and good antennas. I built an EFHW and I’m reaching around the globe!
Also, when you were testing out the different functions of the (tr)uSDX, and there was that female voice on the line speaking... It sounded like the droid/bot voices from Star Wars when they were on the Hoth planet 🤣
Unless I missed it, I didn't notice any power transistor that might offer a five watt PEP output. ☮️ brother. p.s. The noise reduction sounds like squelch.
I thought the noise reduction sounded more like a noise blinker, you know it's biting out pieces of the signal. The transistors are in there. They are teeny tiny little surface mountain things. There's no way they could do 10 w
Is there a way to attenuate recieved power? I just participated in myfirst fox hunt and looking to get started with my own hardware this does look nice for hunting. KN4QKF

This is a brilliant bit of design - it’s a game changer. It’s a pretty easy kit to build - Manuel has opened up ham radio to everyone - good reviewer.
I hope your kids know you are awesome! Imagine growing up with an electronics wizard
You can now do Wsjt-x through the USB port.👍🇬🇧

i agree that design is impressive especially with the perfect fitting 3d printed case brilliant
The van looks good. Easy clean and tidy. Have a nice Thursday. 😊
Ignore the evil out there, you are better then they could ever be. 🌷
Thank you. I bought one and now trying to figure out an antenna. Any suggestions?

NR looks more a squelch than a noise function. Looks fun to play with, though. ✌️

Yep, that's because the BFO *Beat frequency oscillator* is a little bit off.
Very nice 👍

Yep, there is an attenuator setting in the menu.
Timestamp 9:34 - I got a chuckle out of the "we've got the questionable Chinese watt-meter hooked up..." comment 😆
Unfortunately, these radios do not last long; the transmitter burns out after a few months of regular use.
