Hello Virginia! I chose early retirement 5 years ago. I've done all kinds of exciting things during the 5 years. I would like to go back to work. How do I portray choosing retirement and now wanting to come back to work?

Any luck? I had had only three crappy job offers on Indeed. I see ageism as a real problem. I have been ghosted twice once they found out I was over 58.

These tips are pointless because our resumes will never make it through the algorithms. Age discrimination is rampant and the laws in place have no teeth so employers know they can get away with it. Look at your own social media pages Indeed, do you see many people over the age of 45 represented? Yeah, I don't either.

It all boils down to just that one person that is doing the interviewing. If that interviewer looks at older people with preconceived notions, than that's it. It's a done deal. This needs to end now. The way to end ageism in the work place is to do what Affirmative Action did for African Americans - to prove the number of older people that are working for each company. This needs to happen now! When the world starts seeing the statistics with their own eyes, they'll see just how ageist we all are. We need to start proving ageism with cold hard facts, so that they have no choice but to hire us if we are qualified.

Intentions are good. The reality is kind of like when you go to a government office looking for resources. The office you go to will give you about 4-7 pamphlets about 'additional' resources and when you visit those they offer about 7-10 more pamphlets about additional resources and maybe even a phone number that you call that refers you to more resources. You never, ever, realize the actual resource. Good advice but not relevant.

Your site is very very discriminatory to mature job seekers. You are allowing people to make up irrelevant names for jobs.
