Great video, congrats Jen ! I realize that the employment world has become this cat and mouse game where no one is really honest in their answers / questions. The fact that we need to "fit in" these kinds of answers just because it's "expected" is mind-bogling to me. It feels like trying to "beat the game" instead of really putting forward who we are and what we really like. Oh well, we gotta fit in anyways.
Exactly what I keep saying. The labor market has turned us all into some deadbeat robots who have to keep stifling ourselves and brain just to fit into some specific "answers" they want to hear. It's insane and totally ba
Exactly 💯 that's why I struggled to finish My resume. I would look at examples of similar jobs and think to Myself this can't be the way people really talk? It seems so fake like we're trying to sell something we're not just to be looked at as the answer to said companies problem. What ever, if it's so I'll play the fuxk out of them 😅😅😅
Jen, I wanted to let you know that I used your guide to streamline my answers for an interview two years ago. I got the job immediately! Looking through this video again to prep for another interview I have today. Thank you so much!
Thank you Jenn for these invaluable tips about how to respond to interview questions. I recently accepted a job offer, and I believe it is because of the information that you provide in this video that made the difference. Prior to watching this video, I went on interviews only to be turned down. I was confused as to why I didn't get the job. After watching this video, I took notes and thought more about the organization I was applying to. I also researched the organization online. As a result, I was able to feel more confident during the interview. I was happy to learn that I was selected for the position. Thank you for your support. It really helped me.
Interviews would be so much easier if they were written or they allowed notes bc I freeze up with difficult questions even if I've already rehearsed answering it.
Can you please upload a video for those who have over 10 years experience being an unemployed recluse living in their mom's living room? Asking for a friend...
I have a job interview tomorrow and after watching this video I realised how hard it actually is to pass an interview, no way in hell I can come up with such sophisticated responses to such questions. I will still turn up but I will fail so hard if they expect strong answers from me, God help me!!! LOL
This is very helpful but, because I tend to take jobs that I have experience in, yet have goals outside of these jobs, how can I answer the proverbial question: "Where do you see yourself in five years?" I have an interview for a part time receptionist position tomorrow, and though I do really like the fact that it is a company that focuses on wellness, I would actually like to take more writing courses, and I have goals to do something creative. I don't want to end up as a receptionist. For me, right now, I am taking survival jobs. Should I focus on my interest in the field of health, wellness and the healing arts?
Great question, Rose. For these "survival jobs," ask yourself what skills or experiences you might be acquiring from them that might help you in obtaining a career in your interests in the future. Then, in your answer you can focus on how you want to be in a future role or industry (without being specific) where you can utilize skill/experience X,Y, and Z, and how this job for which you are interviewing will allow you to acquire skill/experience X, Y, and Z. You can find more tips on answering this question here - indeedhi.re/3l4uYbw. -CC
That's true man, we're basically actors who have to rehearse our lines and nail the role. If you see it this way then you will ace the interview. Also asking them questions puts a bit of pressure on the interviewer as well.
Someone once told me to try and turn the interview around - ask THEM lots of questions - people love to talk about themselves! They will like you for being interested in them and you actually avoided some of the harder questions. Right now I cannot answer the where do you see yourself in 5 years - RETIREMENT!
Same here on the '5 years' question. I feel that honesty is always best but at the same time I feel that I'm backed into a corner and a wrong answer could be severely limiting.
I am on the interviewing path again after 3 years and although Jenn's vid is great and useful advice, I had forgotten about the little gem you mentioned! It's so true, if you go blank, asking them a question can give you time you take a deep breath and reset, and remember the answer you rehearsed so many times! This is true, people do love talking about themselves! Thanks?
Perhaps by choosing a company with good values, it also be important to consider the ethical means to you which they aquire the funds to pay their accounts on time. It's one thing to reflect in a good way by paying suppliers and staff on time and another matter on the means of how the funds became available to make all the necessary payment. Just saying

Wow, company's benefit of helping you pay off student loans is definitely not a good reason to work for a company and should definitely not be something you mention in an interview.
Now I realized why I never passed any interviews yet. Anyhow, Jesus died for your sins and He wants you to be with Him eternally in heaven for soon He will return as a judge and not as a Savior anymore. Jesus died for your sins and paid for you. You only have to repent and accept Him as your personal Savior and Lord. Romans 10:9 If you declare/confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in your whole heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved. [ Say that loud on your prayer+ repent from your sins and accept Jesus in your heart ]
I cannot focus watching this as the camera is looking up into her nose, and she got some stuff around her there. And then she does this too-frequent twitches that I find distracting. Sorry.

Instead of using experience , you can use skill. So are there any activities you’ve done in place of work? Like volunteering, or any self studying?
Q: why do you want to work here?
A: uhh, i need money to buy food so i can survive...
I agree, lol
Lol, that's understandable. But in an interview for your dream job, you will put more thought and effort into your answer.

Basically, job interviews are like a school test. Memorize and spit it out to the interviewer...
Isn’t that the truth. I’ve been failing here recently. Interviews
Makes the whole thing seem pointless
It’s bullshit
