    One of my favorite fish! I've had the same one for a few years now.

      I wonder how long they live...I'm guessing 7 years or so. How old is yours, if you don't mind me asking?

    Just got 6 of these guys and they are a total blast! So playful and active. Very beautiful as well. Mine are maybe only 1.25" long but bursting with personality. They are in quarantine with 14 Kuhli Loach juveniles, 2" long, and they all play a lot together.

      That quarantine tank sounds like a ton of fun!

      @@DansFish They can eat a surprising amount at least I was surprised. They can eat a 3mm Northfin Veggie Pellet each. Of course Bloodworms are sucked down practically without tasting the worms.lol. But I don't want to overfeed either. Of course there are all those dozen+ Kuhli loaches and lots of shrimp too. And Bladder & Nerite Snails. 😳😳 It quite quickly became my happening tank. Wow.

    I like the Geos? swimming with them. The Garra's reputation for being a great fish, precedes them! Thanks Dan.

      @@DansFish my hillstream loach is such a douche. During feeding time, he would absolutely bully all my cories and hog all the food even when there's enough for everybody.

    I have two of these and love them. Initially got told that you either have to have a single fish, or a group, as they form a hierarchy , which then reduces the aggression. This is totally incorrect. They are non aggressive as far as I can see, but would like to increase their group because they are soo nice

      @DansFish  4 роки тому

      Crypto, are you sure you don't have a chinese algae eater or something that was mislabled as a panda garra? I've never seen them be aggressive. Of course, I've always kept them in large tanks in large groups, so maybe I'm just missing the aggression dynamic.

      @@DansFish yup I'm 100% sure he's a panda garra! I keep him in a 125 with roseline, rainbowfish and empire Gudgeons and doesn't bother them a bit. But any time I add additional panda garra he chases them around non stop haha

      Thanks for the sub and like, NAR! There are so many factors that contribute to fish growth that it is hard to give a specific time. I've never actually tracked their growth rate, but I had some that grew from 2" to full grown in about 5 months (if memory serves).

      Yes. Panda Garra and hillsteam loaches would be just fine together, IMO.

      I tend to mix soilent green in with community blend for the garra. Most fish don't really like the soilent green much, so I cut it 50/50.
