@@smegalgaming The set has 359 pieces, but LEGO overpriced it to $84.99 with tax. LEGO did the same with The Hoopty which is also overpriced at $89.99 with 420 pieces and it's based on one of the worst MCU films in recent years, The Marvels.
I’m a Polaroid collector and shooter, so this is a day 1. The price is def unsavory, 50-60 bucks and this would fly off the shelf. However, I’m crossing my fingers that this opens the door for more Polaroid camera models (B-95, Sun 660, Spectra) and other camera types!
I think this set is definitely interesting however I think the reason why this set costs $80 is because it has the brand name of Polaroid. My guess is that the price of this set includes a licensing fee.
@@abelruiz1996Well i didn’t and neither did plenty of people because i actually liked the set. It’s all to do with the fact it’s a branded name. Money is money who cares just don’t buy it 🤷🏻
Hi David. David here too. As a photographer and someone who sold these "back in the day" it looks great. Yes it is WAY overpriced. My real issue though, is the camera itself. If you know cameras (and I think you do) the original SX-70 was THE camera to get then (1976 I think). The "One Step" was essentially the poor man's SX-70, and while I like the functionality it's akin to making a Lego Porsche. Maybe they make a 914, but what we all really want is a Carrera Turbo.
Would be great to see in future comparison of polaroid and creator 3in1. I wonder how they look like together, especially if 3in1 is not too small to be treated as replica.
The fact that you can do buy an actual Polaroid camera for the same price is crazy, Lego should have done their research and made this a $50 set. Great work again solidbrix on the review!
Just noticed, this set includes a 6x6 printed tile. But I thought they couldn’t for the Venator? I know the design is all near the top of this 6x6 not the entire tile but just seems like a bad excuse now that Lego clearly CAN do it.
The only way I could justify preordering this set was by using some recently acquired insider points (lots of double point events lately) to apply a discount that made it the 60 dollar price point it should’ve been
Great review David! Are you going to address what people have been saying about your business on your most recent community post at any point in the near future?
That's a shame! I had really high hopes for this set when I first heard about it last year. But $80 is a hard pill to swallow. I really want it but I will wait and hopefully get it on a good deal down the line.
@@qatari4nc a pfp? I have every right to voice my opinion on how unenthusiastic I am about this set. It's not dissing it, it's an honest, valid opinion based on the price and how it looks.
love your content, but your videos seem to be really quiet compared to any other. This one especially, I had to turn all my volume settings to max and you were still quiet...
the worst thing isnt even the price, its the fact that you can see all the random stupid colors through the cracks. weird colors inside Lego sets are bad enough, but if theyre hidden in the end its at least somewhat acceptable. Even at 40$ it wouldnt be a well designed set because of that
Awesome set, as photographer and lego fan I love it. however... One big reason I was looking forward to this was since it has 516 pieces, it would probably be around $50, and therefore pretty affordable Why is it $80? That's overpriced! It should be $50, at most $60. C'mon Lego, please stop charging ridiculously overpriced prices on some stuff for no apparent reason. I think I speak for most Lego fans that prices on some Lego sets make no sense, they are way too much. The best example is the hoopty set $90 for 420 pieces? It should cost half the price! There are unfortunately many more examples of sets that are $10, $20, or more over what makes sense. Enough is enough
Man I am a huge Polaroid fan, so I was really hoping this one would be a bit more.... More. Might still get eventually but not a day 1 like I thought it would be
I honestly expected this to cost more so I was pleasantly surprised when I pre ordered it. I’m realizing now that it’s definitely overpriced unfortunately
Cool but not worth the price, Lego needs to chill on the prices especially how the economy is right now here in the US. Hard working single middle class man and I can't afford my hobbies anymore all my hard working money goes to taxes and rent and bills :/ and Ukraine.
The has to do with not only the set but licensing too, I think its a sick camera and it doesn't matter for the price tag on it as I love polaroid a lot, but to diss it like that when you don't understand what it's like to collect film camera's and to add this to the collection is cool.
80$ for that is just ridiculous!
Both the licensing with Polaroid and the cards to represent the 3 Polaroid photos are the two reasons why the set costs $80.
Same with X-man jet
In my Country it will be 2300+ liras

then why make it? analysts should forsee that we will wait until it goes in the discontinued bargain bin

Love the set, I’m a big camera guy, and $80 isn’t actually a bad price when you look at a set like the T-6 shuttle
Great looking set but yep, ima stick with the other camera set when it comes out. Good review david thank you

I think it should be 50 to because some people like more real cameras and not lego. But still I would buy one.

LEGO Retro Camera is such a must have! Thanks for the video!
it's kind of crazy that the sets creators sister is a lego person

What kind of surface would you recommend building on for large scale Mocs. I’m thinking of getting a folding table but am not sure
Just finished my set, but the photos will not eject. I went back, took things apart, but no I did not miss a step so I am very confused.
The only way I could justify preordering this set was by using some recently acquired insider points (lots of double point events lately) to apply a discount that made it the 60 dollar price point it should’ve been
I can buy 3 packs of color SX-70 film for $80. Pretty cool concept though.
Camera film is not a building set, drooling reet
Thanks for the hounesty!!!
Between this and the X-Men jet at $85 it's absurd. I even saw that new Duplo set called Big Feelings and Emotions is only a few blocky figs for $30.

he actually did, check the post again he replied to some of the comments thankfully

What are you going to buy with the $10 you save?
I'm glad u are still very brutally honest.
This will be my next Lego project next year but when the price drops a bit.
Fantastic set... I hope I can buy it to make a video for my channel
It's...a camera...I just don't see the appeal. Pieces I guess. 80 bucks is way too much.
lil bro u have a lego pfp don't diss it

One thing about Lego that bothers me more and more are the stickers. I noticed that even the new sticker on the round button is loosening up.
I miss your building videos bro what happened?
does anyone know if its possible to put in a rael Polaroid?
eBay 130 , crazy price already . I saw them yesterday in Walmart for $80. Don’t pay 130 y’all - wait it out
i bought it for 37 euro, second hand but still sealed.
I wonder if they knew u majored in photog before sending u this lmao
Man I am a huge Polaroid fan, so I was really hoping this one would be a bit more.... More. Might still get eventually but not a day 1 like I thought it would be
Does the original creator get paid for these creation to product items or just name recognition?
The paper bags isn't fully paper, it's 95% paper 5% plastic
Nice! 👍
I want.
Amazing review as always David.
I honestly expected this to cost more so I was pleasantly surprised when I pre ordered it. I’m realizing now that it’s definitely overpriced unfortunately
Smile for the camera and price.
Rainbow has 7 colours...
Might as well just get the real thing haha
The last few years Lego has been taking a lot of L’s with these overpriced sets that are hopefully DOA and need to be massively discounted
Just seems overpriced. $60 yes certainly not $80.
Stickers??? Smh
Stupid price.I have the real camera which cost less.
why are they releasing pointless sets like these? I will never understand why someone would want this set.
The Disney 100 camera was a million times better and better value!! I won’t be buying this at that price
First
What a bland set! Wished they would have selected another ideas set.
Like if you are excited for Lego to make Fortnite Lego sets 👇

Considering that the real camera costs around the same as this piece of shit lego camera is ridiculous
I dont think that they have to compete
