Hiroyuki Namba was born in Sugamo, Toshima, Tokyo in September 1953.
Japanese keyboardist, composer, arranger and science fiction writer a member of the Japan Science Fiction Writers Club. He is also a professor in the Faculty of Music (composition and conducting (film and broadcast music course)) at the Tokyo College of Music.
In 1979, he released his first solo album, “Sense of Wonder”.
He used as the name of the band that later be organized.
He was also active as a keyboard member on Tatsuro Yamashita's heyday albums "Ride on Time", "For You", "Melodies" and others, as well as a keyboard member of Tatsuro Yamashita's Live Tours.
As a science fiction writer, he was the author of short story collections such as "The Synthesizer player on the Airship," "Keyboard Empire Attack" (Hayakawa Bunko), and "Rockin' Way with a Feeling of Excitement" (Cobalt Bunko). He also served as a judge for the Japan SF Awards.

For the past 60 years, the Western music industry has ignored Japanese musicians as if they did not exist.
For a long time, we have been deprived of the existence of Japanese popular music and its many talents in various genres because the Western music industry has not signed many Japanese musicians to sales contracts in the Western music market and has not supplied to the world market with their music.
It was only with the advent of the Internet ,UA-cam that the invisible racially prejudiced walls of the Western music industry were broken down, and the music of the past began to circulate around the world.
After that, it was only then that much of the world became aware of the existence of many Japanese past popular music.
The Japanese popular scene in various genres were as active in Japan as in the West, with a history of over 60 years, almost the same length as that of the West, but Japanese musicians, "no matter how talented they were" were only given the opportunity to sign release contracts limited to domestic only in Japan.
So people of all over the world could not even know about the existence of the Japanese Rock music and musicians for a long time.

Not sure I’d put it down to prejudice. I can’t imagine there was much of a market for Japanese music in the west before the anime-obsessed millennials showed up. Or music from any other nation outside the west, for that matter. Catchy tunes and songs you can sing along to sell records. Hard to sing along when you don’t speak the language. A few landmark bands broke out in the west in the past however (such as Yellow Magic Orchestra).
