I remember the Acura Legend. Those cars were so solid and bullet proof the Acura Service Centers at their dealerships complained about not having any business for the first few years. Yeah Acura was hitting it out of the park with the NSX, the Integra, and the Type R. Then they lost their appeal. The MDX is their biggest seller now.
Yeonhoo: that's why I started this segment on Sunday, because there's lots of talented people out there that deserve a chance to show off their cars to the community and possibly start their own channels or grow one they already have
This was a very professional video. I agree with the owner completely. I think the first generation Acura Legend coupes, especially an LS model with a 5 speed manual, is one of the best looking and most durable Japanese car. Even the Japanese don't build them like that anymore. Those coupes are getting harder and harder to find. Nice to see the owner loves it stock and is working hard to hunt down all the necessary parts to keep it original!
I agree, he was very smooth and professional, explained things systematically and seemed to be having fun at the same time. And I think he is an Acura fan??? Maaaaayyyybeeee? 😉
Thank you so much for the feedback! Based on some of the responses here, I'm going to be putting my channel together. I hope to have some content in the next few weeks, it's just finding the cars to review is what makes it tricky. Expect more from me in the future!
dazaro3 guys he has a UA-cam channel just search up mini6090 and keep scrolling down you’ll find him. On his Instagram @altek1 he said he needs 100 subscribers to start it
Founder Soichiro Honda did not design/build engines and cars for money, that was his passion, that's why honda cars are always better. Of course it is not easy to demonstrate his art (and high standards) in mass production. That is why he designed/built the Legend and the NSX. Thank you Scotty Kilmer, Thank you Alex
I actually think this guy is better than Doug Demuro 😂 Doug gets excellent cars on his channel but to be honest Doug is super annoying to listen to rather just put them on mute and look at the cars.
Best thing is, we all can say " We knew him when " Scotty is now into Talent Development for You Tube. He does have a unique way of speaking, which really helps.
Payam yazdi I bought mine when I was 16 back in high school. It had 192000 miles. I had it for 8 years, sold it when it had 280000 and was running excellent. My friend still owns it and is a daily driver. Those cars were built to last.
This was the best winner yet, very well put together and the guy really knows his car. A lot of those nice little features would have completely gone over most people's heads as it's an older car, and people don't expect them to have convenient features such as the windshield wiper prop. Thanks for sharing, I almost want to go out and find myself a Legend now.
I use to own an 89 Legend; this vehicle was the epitome of Luxury and refinement. This vehicle never broke down on me I love the 1st Generation Legend.
Shared to my group Acura Legend Owners & Enthusiasts on Facebook I own a 95 3.2l Acura legend 2nd gen sedan gs pearl white and i love it 119 thousand on it. Eric the car guy own's a legend also.
yep search " Acura Legend Owners & Enthusiasts " on facebook tell them you have one they will let you join. good way to get part's and make friends and talk legends.
Thank you, Alex, that was excellent. We never had the Acura in the UK, and it's obvious that you love yours. I hope that they serve you well for many years to come. Thank you Scotty, entertaining as always.
Peter Brown thanks Peter! It's an easy car to love once you drive it, and besides gaskets and other maintenance, both have been very solid. Thanks for watching!
there are so many more, the arm rest on the doors folds up for two stash areas. Also between the rear speakers is another storage compartment, the size of a box of tissues.
I work in a retired people community, and there's a lady that owns a car like this one's but hers it's grey in color, the car is in excellent conditions it looks like what it would look back when it was new in the 90's and she's also the only owner, she has taking care of that car very good
Hey Scotty I had 1986 Acura Legend (blue 4 door) with the 2.5 V6. I totally loved and was very impressed with the comfy seats and build quality. I remember being able to chirp the tires in second gear. I miss my that car a lot. They do rust but can be managed if taken care of. Thanks for sharing the video (memories, Ahh)
This guy is great. He should be a presenter. I had a 90 Legend, and, apart from my 97 4Runner, it’s the best car I’ve ever owned. Until this video, I had no idea they came optioned with a manual transmission. Incredible!
Had a 91 acura legend...owned it for 10 years...over 200k miles. Everything was still original except the starter when I finally sold it. Unbelievably reliable car and still turned heads everywhere I went.
I own a 94 legend coupe and after owning an nsx and an s63 I am glad to say that the legend is still my favorite car I’ve ever driven. Super advanced technology for its time and its quick enough for a daily. Also the sound and scream of the engine is like no other.
Any late 80's to late 90's Honda just has impeccable build quality and top quality driving characteristics that haven't been matched before or since. Everything the build now a days is too bloated.
Excellent choice Mr. Kilmer. What a classic piece of automotive history. The “luxury” branding of Infinity(Nissan), Lexus(Toyota), and Acura(Honda) is one of the most fascinating trends in the history of the import car market.
I absolutely love this video. I own a 4 door- 94 Acura Legend in pearl white, and can say is my favourite car. Its timeless, luxurious, and all together, a beautiful car.
I love the Acuras. The second generation Legend was my favorite. I also love the Acura Vigor! Stunning car! Although I am a Lexus fan, I still love Acura!
My first car purchase was a 91 Acura Legend back in 05. I LOVED that car. The combination of what seemed like lower gearing and a 200hp v6, that car seemed to just fly. Acceleration was awesome and I had the speedometer reading 130+ one time with the engine willing to give more...that was with 200,000+ miles on it. I'd love to by the last model year ('95 I believe) when they had 230hp. Just a fantastic car
Thanks for the win, Scotty! It's an honor to be a part of your channel. I'm happy to see the feedback in the comments, both flattering and motivating. This is inspiring me to get my channel off the ground and start doing a few videos to see how it goes. Maybe I'll be the Hank Azaria of the car review world, maybe. If anyone would like to, click my face to the left of this comment and subscribe to see what's coming up, it'll be an adventure, because not even I know. Thanks again!
Wow, I love this. I love 90's cars, have a 92 Accord (and a '17 Tesla, still love my Honda). What a classy guy, he sees the value in these great old cars.
I sure miss the styling of those 90s Acuras! Legend, Vigor and Integra were so much more distinctive than their current day versions. Please bring back the names too Honda. If its good enough for japan its good enough for here.

Great video!! I used to have a 90 Acura Legend sedan about 10 years ago. Couldn't burnout, but once you hit second gear you took off. Started having transmission problems and they wanted too much money to fix. It's the only car I ever drove to the junkyard. That was a great car.
ive owned three and drove 1 of them over 120,000 miles in 3 years. such a blast to drive. the steering was actually controlled via a feedback pump on the transmission speed sensor. great car.
And that's why I love owning my 1999 Acura 3.5 RL. They don't make them like they used to. Great reliable and dependable car. Easy to fix on your own also. Great service e manual too with simple instructions and zero revisions.
Good vid, these cars were sweet back in the day, everything still works 28 years later. I'm not sure how many parts may or may not have been replaced, but that's impressive. Regarding the airbag and horn buttons that was pre-floating horn button over the airbag. Most cars only had 2 buttons that you had to hunt for if trying to beep the horn, it was especially a pain when trying to beep while turning. This car was ahead of its time with 4 horn buttons. Best of luck with her!

I had a 5 speed '87 Legend sedan I bought in '88....So wish I could find another..Loved every moment I that I owned it...That motor ran like a Swiss watch...I felt that I had finally arrived when I took ownership of it...
Thanks Alex for that great presentation on your classic ACURA Legend coupe. As an owner of a 1994 GS Legend for the past 16 years I have a healthy respect for the ACURA brand. I bought it with 95,000 miles on it, in 2002 and it hit 257,000 the other day! I have to admit it's not in the great condition yours is in but the champagne body color still turns heads. Take care.
Marcus Stevenson I do love the gen2 body as well but the engine issues I've heard of always scared me away from them. Keep the dream alive and thanks for watching!
Great cars, I had 2 of the UK versions we called Rover 827, both of mine were the vitesse. i wish I had still got them, fast comfortable brilliant v6 engine.
Thanks Scotty for these new segments to see all the awesome blasts from the past. These first generation Legends are awesome cars, and to this day, not a week goes by without someone pointing and shouting out, "love that Legend", or an enthusiastic "thumbs up", as I drive by. Only differences I noticed between your 90, and my 87' (introduction year of the coupe) is that my L model only has the bump forward seat belt on the drivers side., and no integrated bad ass spoiler. However, my 87" does have the optional integrated graphic equalizer instead of the cassette storage compartment under the stereo's head unit. Probably an upgrade option, at the time. Rock on Legend, and I hope one day you come back, bigger better, and even more bad ass than ever!

Always an absolute pleasure to watch your content.
Is it just me or is this guy is natural at explaining on camera? Very good video.
He should be doing his own channel Better than some of the already popular UA-camrs!
Yeonhoo Kim Yeah totally.
Absolutely much better than some reviewers on UA-cam who seem to stumble and repeat the same adjectives over and over again!
Yeonhoo: that's why I started this segment on Sunday, because there's lots of talented people out there that deserve a chance to show off their cars to the community and possibly start their own channels or grow one they already have
Scotty Kilmer You're awesome.
My dad had an Acura Legend when I was a kid. Miss him.

Good looking cars
This guy was very confident in speaking too !
Unfortunately those old acuras rust like crazy around the wheel wells up here in the Midwest, literally never seen one that clean up here :/
I had to get rid of my legend due to RUST.

Look at that leather, puts cars today to shame
This guy should start his own UA-cam channel
yea
I agree, he was very smooth and professional, explained things systematically and seemed to be having fun at the same time. And I think he is an Acura fan??? Maaaaayyyybeeee? 😉
Agreed kinda reminds me of the Rosenthal guy ,,...
Definitely. That guy is funny also but sadly not enough subscribers.
Id SUB
THIS guy should have his own automotive channel. Great charisma! He'd make a far better journalist than half the wannabe's out there.
Thank you so much for the feedback! Based on some of the responses here, I'm going to be putting my channel together. I hope to have some content in the next few weeks, it's just finding the cars to review is what makes it tricky. Expect more from me in the future!

Alex Jansson You're so mean. But I admit you are totally correct.
Tesla Beam he is actually better and smarter lol
😂😂 sadly i have to agree
It's Doug's older and less geeky brother......

I always preferred the 4 door models as they have more room and looked nice as well.
Great video, Alex is a natural on camera and a very funny guy
90's era cars are some of the best ever. Nice ride, and this guy makes a good host. Thanks for the video.
This guy has a future in reviewing cars. I know it sounds a little crazy, but at times his voice reminds me of Alan Alda haha
Exactly what I was thinking, got to be a New York accent thing.

Great video!! I used to have a 90 Acura Legend sedan about 10 years ago. Couldn't burnout, but once you hit second gear you took off. Started having transmission problems and they wanted too much money to fix. It's the only car I ever drove to the junkyard. That was a great car.

Aishik Ashraf oh, please don't! 😅
ive owned three and drove 1 of them over 120,000 miles in 3 years. such a blast to drive. the steering was actually controlled via a feedback pump on the transmission speed sensor. great car.
Thanks Scotty for choosing Acura. I'm driving the 99 Acura tl. Not as many features a this early legend but I do have cup holders lol
I loved my 89 Coupe! 5 speed, good power, TONS of options! So plush!
You know a car is amazing when you buy two of them
Just amazing car for 1990... Would buy it even today.
Indeed old is gold.
And that's why I love owning my 1999 Acura 3.5 RL. They don't make them like they used to. Great reliable and dependable car. Easy to fix on your own also. Great service e manual too with simple instructions and zero revisions.

That h8tr note put a tear in my eye. That car is pure hotness!
It's depressing to see less and less 1990s cars on the road with each passing year.

john hill Yeah, you watch like 2 to 3 videos from one UA-camr and then your feed is flooded with their videos
THIS is a 1991 Acura. Legend.

It’s a really nice car, and it’s manual!!!
This guy is amazing! Great honest video! Thanks!
My mind is blown away
This guy have a UA-cam? He’s so natural at this 😆
This was my second car, and I absolutely loved it! Mine was a two tone white and gold 1989.
I want one now.
I love vehicles from the 80s and 90s, they actually had styling and personality back then. Awesome Acura!
James Berryman thanks! It's one of those times where you can say they don't make em like they used to. Thanks for watching!
v6 stick shift coupe , this car pretty quick . it very nice car
Traded my 89 coupe in a few years ago with only 110,000 on it. Those power rear windows were so cool! Really miss that car.
Man that engine sound delicious. Incredible car!
That's a great Acura! I own a 2003 Acura 3.2TL and I love it. Awesome car and video!
"At least I have control over my own wind..."
I lost it.
Absolutely excellent selection and presentation for this week. Loved the video and love these old Acuras...Hondas too.
Thank you! It was hard work but well worth it. Scotty is the man!!
The LS might not have been first, but it was better. Which is probably why it’s still here today.
