So lovely to see Horseshoe Curve again--especially with all those kids having such a good time! Loved the pelican (glad he caught lunch) and the recently fledged house sparrow (hollering for lunch) plus the big barges and all of that cool MOW equipment. And you're right: that beard was awesome!! Another great one--thank you so much!

The Amtrak train at 16:00 is there probably because it is being led by an NS unit on CSX. That is not only unusual for being an NS unit leading Amtrak on CSX. I did not know that any NS units had cab signals qualified for the RF&P Sub, which has a different cab signal system than most others, because it was one of the first in the U. S., and requires (or did) a separate software package from all the others on CSX. Unless the rules have been changed, that NS unit would have to have working cab signals for that sub to lead. The RF&P system's uniqueness used to mean that there was a very limited pool of units that could lead on the RF&P, up until around the early '00s, when CSX started buying every new unit with cab signals that were qualified for every cab signal territory they own or use, and was a separate function on the computer screen cab signal menu.

The "goose"hoppers are more likely to be ex-South Central Tennessee.....they had a fleet of them for wood chip service.

As an American, I'm ashamed of our passenger rail.
Don't be it's way worse in Canada
I grew up in Belen. Santa Fe ran a profitable passenger rail line through there until 1970, when Amtrak was created. 3 of the 6 hotels closed, as did 4 of the 7 restaurants. The ice plant and bottling plant closed. 40% of the people in town moved away. Hollywood went there to make movies because of the run down buildings. The town rebounded when the passenger rail was recently reinstated and Hollywood taught the town how to write federal grants.
Its getting annoying pausing for each train cars the we can litterally see what name on it etc like tge conrail box car or chessie cat boxcar that we can clearly see it more annoying pausing for thise lineage cars with name other then that i enjoy vr train vids
