It is wonderful how your family eats meals all together. It’s something most families don’t do as often these days. You have a beautiful family Janice. Great simple meals that everyone enjoys.
I love it when Daddy's help Momma out in the kitchen especially when they help with the clean up, lol. Little Rebecca you are so adorable I could just pick you up and give you lots of huggins. I love your big country kitchen. I would love to have that. Miss Sarah is not only a daughter, but a young Momma to her younger siblings. TFS God Bless
Janice and Shawn, I know you have to be proud parents. Your kids are so sweet, kind, respectful and grateful. So we all know, they got that way from the two of you. I wish a lot of these other kids out here were like your children, this World would be so much nicer. Your family reminds me so much of ours when I was growing up. We all had chores to do (no allowance) some of us helped Mother cook, laundry on a wringer washer, out to the clothesline to dry, you name it, we did it and no back talk. We all grew up to be good kids. I love seeing your boys help cook and Sarah, OMG, she is a hoot. God bless each and everyone of you. I love watching your videos, they are so wholesome and fun to watch.
Thank you so very much for that super-kind comment! Our video for tomorrow should be another good childhood memory for you as well since it's all about us washing our laundry by hand when my washing machine was broken! I had never done it by hand before, so it was a learning experience for all of us! 😁 Thankfully, I have some cheerful helpers that make the job easier and more fun!
I agree with your comment about the children being so pleasant. I humbly and thankfully say that I hear that about my children too. I think it is a product of homeschooling that a lot of people don't understand. When you are a homeschooling family, you are together, and you and your children are friends, in addition to family. We enjoy each other's presence and find joy in doing lots of different activities together. At school, kids are around other kids all day, vying for attention, learning bad habits from others, and having to be loud to be noticed. Kids can learn to be kind of rambunctious at school, and other people notice that when they aren't at school. Homeschooling children model their parents and older siblings, not their peers, and so they are more mature, kind, and respectful, in my humble opinion. I homeschooled both of my boys for their entire educations. It was a privilege and a wonderful experience. They had plenty of friends who were homeschooled as well, and they participated in homeschool sports leagues that were a blast for the whole family. I encourage anyone reading to homeschool. You won't regret it, and you and your family will benefit from it! God bless Janice and family and anyone reading!!
I loved hearing your husband's voice, and nothing wrong with his meal. It would be a good habit for husband's to give their wife a rest from cooking once a week. David was a good sport!
We married very young I was 16 husband 19.we were both still in education and he worked part time too. Right from day one he has regularly cooked. Today 50+years later we still take turns to cook.
This kind of video is really enjoyable Janice, i hope it doesnt mean more work for you - im sure your smaller girls must have been born with huge smiles on their faces - their faces shine. Thank you for allowing us into your home and lives xx
Judy, the hardest part for me is REMEMBERING!!! I feel like we get 2 bites into a meal and I jump up and say, "I forgot to film!!!" Repeat and repeat over and over for a week... 😉
I’m beginning to sound like a broken record which also shows my age, but once again my heart and soul are filled to the brim with happiness, joy and hilarity which only comes from your wonderful family. Quick note: please be sure to read email I sent this morning. Love to all and continued prayers for Shawn’s recovery and assurance of a healthy Fall season. 💋❤️🙏😇🎁
This family is certainly well fed with each and every meal. Full bellies, great shelter filled with love and amazing set of parents preparing all for life ahead. Job well done Janice and Shawn! ♥️♥️
I’m always so sad when one of these videos ends. It’s like saying goodbye to family after a good visit. 😀❤️🥰😍 P.S. Anna’s cookies are my absolute favorite kind! And I’m not particularly a peanuts or peanut butter fan, but these cookies are the exception. Anna, your cookies look absolutely delicious, wish I had one right now!! 🌻
It's at times like this that I wish "smellovision" was invented. Sarahs beef stew looked so delicious and her biscuits (we call them scones in GB) looked PERFECT. I remember getting as excited as Abigail when it came to pizza night. Your pizzas looked amazing Janice and I can tell by Abigails big smile that they taste so good. I always think her eyes sparkle like little sapphires when she smiles. Precious! Blessings always ❤️🕯️🙏
Oh, you would've loved the smells! I wish I could make biscuits (or scones!) as beautiful as Sarah, but I always tend to overwork mine. It looks like we'll need to do a video on the pizzas because others seem to be interested in them too. 😁
@@ozarkfamilyhomestead a pizza video would be great! Theres so many variations other than using the traditional pizza crust and they're great for using up leftovers. When I was a student, I had to be savvy with money. If I had leftover mashed potatoes, I would make fine breadcrumbs using the ends of a loaf of bread, mix in lightly the potato and shape into a circle. I'd use Bolognese or any tomato based sauce I had, put toppings on, add cheese and bake until the base is golden and the cheese is bubbling. I called it "poor man's pizza" but it was delicious and made my money stretch further. Bon appetit and blessings! 🌸🌺🌼❤️🕯️🙏
Yeah, I'm not real keen on being filmed while eating and I think some of the older children are the same way. The younger ones don't seem to mind at all though! 😁
Sarah and Anne is an amazing help and sarah turning into a amazing cook. Would love to see her help you cook . Love all your amazing recipes .You have a beautiful family . God bless
Beautiful family, Our yogurt truned out perfect...I actually boiled the milk, right in the jars with a rolled up hand towel in the center to keep the jars from clanging and the jars were lifted up with a circular slotted lift to keep them from touching the bottom of the pan while heating up to 180° And I used a colman flip top cooler to put the jars in to proof them. I learned something new from all of you 🥰🍧
Sarah I remember being sixteen with braces , and I didn't want anyone watching me eat either lol. Just remember it's not forever and they will be off before you know it. I had mine on for four years all through high school. I totally get it. . We all love you Sarah, you are one amazing 16 year old... 😇 ❤️🙏🏻❤️
Anna is really becoming the lil baker, before you know it she will be doing everything that Sarah's doing, . Sarah your a awesome influence on your little sisters. They are blessed to have you ❤️🙏🏻❤️

I can't wait to see how you all like the pickled watermelon rinds. I absolutely love them and my memory is ftom my grandparents farm in Ohio where my mom grew up. My grandmother always made them. Loved everything about this video. Smiling faces, great looking meals, family time, team work and effort by the whole family. Wonderful! Beautiful biscuits, Sara!! We need your recipe for the pizza crust, too. It looked amazing!! Love your family..thanks for sharing! It's just my husband and I now so I really enjoy it all. ❤
Your children are so lucky to have such great parents like you two. I wish I had a dad like Shawn when I was growing up. Your daughters are sure to pick great men for husbands and your sons will treat some lucky lady so great. God bless your family! I wish everyone was like your family 💜
Another fun “foodie” video! Very fun! We eat many of the same things that you do! My husband likes shredded wheat with banana and almond milk sometimes, and I like bacon and eggs with tomatoes and toast. We eat a lot of salads with left over chicken, and the dish that my husband likes to cook is the classic “poor man’s meal” with diced potatoes, onion, sliced up hot dogs, and a wee bit of pasta sauce. Our two big adjustments due to health are very low salt (so hot dog dishes only once in a while) and no or low sugar. We like rice pudding with cinnamon for dessert, and we love all kinds of vegetables, fruits, and nuts. It’s always fun to see what others like to eat, and how they use food from the garden. Another great video! Dad’s night to make dinner was a success! Spaghetti and fresh bread is always a winner at our house!
All of the meals looks so delicious. Sara is fantastic in the kitchen and everything she does. I Rebecca looked wearing her apron!!!! All of your Children are so precious, gifted and talented/ awesome Mama and Dad!!!!!!!😊❤🙏🏻 Ms. Ruby
Maybe a tip for Sarah: Make satesaus from the peanutbutter. That's a little more runny/juicy, and will stick less to your braces. You can make it as thick or thin as you like. Even spice it up with some worcestershire or soysaus. That way you can satisfy your craving for: PEANUTS!!
Mmm beef stroganoff one of my favorites! That’s the best cookbook! My mom got one when she got married and I used it growing up! I found the same copy she had 60’s version in an antique store and have it for my own family!! I would pick the supreme pizza you like too that looked delicious! I may have to try and make your sausage! I have some spice allergies and sometimes have problems with store bought breakfast sausage!
Oh my, I thought everyone ate them! I read your comment to Shawn and he said he doesn't remember eating them during his childhood in Oklahoma though, so maybe it IS a Missouri thing! 😲
@@ozarkfamilyhomestead Momma made them a lot , her momma made them . Momma was born and raised in Springfield. Daddy was born in Oklahoma but teen years he lived in Willard . So it must be a Missouri thing . 😁
Your family has the best well balanced meals ! Shawn I bet everyone loved your Spaghetti. My husband grills out too . I call him the Grill Master. All your children are wonderful and such good kids .
Pear sauce!!! I just happen to be canning pears this morning.. There has been a bounty this year and I have been praising the Lord!! If your willing and able to share I would love to have your home made pizza crust recipe.. Thank you so much..
Better homes & garden cookbook is the best, have used it for years my mom had one that was her mom's and we used hers till we couldn't no more had to break down and buy a new one 😄👍
What a lovely way to end my busy afternoon evening, watching such a beautiful family...its now 11.35pm in Aussie Queensland...but i can now go to sleep with a smile...love you guys .. as i have said before i have never been so addicted to a channel as i have yours ...have a fabulous day there ,nite from the Aussie ❤
You could watch The Sullivan family who live in the North of Scotland .They have just moved house and live on a small wage but like this family there is a lot of love for all their children. They have a very different way of life here the children go to school, love dancing and just walking in the countryside.
There are a couple other easy and cheap macaroni and beef meals. One that gets made frequently here is Campbells tomato soup, macaroni or spiral pasta and hamburger. I only use the Campbells soup but you can use whatever brand you prefer. We call it slop lol. I like to turn it into a casserole by putting a good layer of cheese on the top and broiling it for about 7 mins. It's yummy straight out of the pot too. Another cheap pasta meal is, pasta, soy sauce, onions and ground beef or chicken. Veggies and seasonings can be added. There is also a good breakfast wrap/burrito I seen Becky from Acre Homestead make and it is delicious! You just scramble up some eggs, add cooked veggies and cooked meat along with seasonings and mix together. Hash browns can be added in too. You then put it on a tortilla and wrap it up. Wrap each in plastic wrap separately and place in a sandwich or freezer bag. I did 2 per sandwich bag. I put in eggs, sausage and/or bacon, sweet peppers, onion, cheese, salt and pepper, garlic powder and a dash of seasoning salt. I made a bunch up to freeze and then we could just grab one or two as needed and heat in microwave for about 60 seconds. Mine were smaller so they could go straight to the microwave from freezer but if you're doing big ones you should let them thaw before heating up. They're very convenient to grab and go in a hurry.
Oh my, your "slop" sounds tasty!! 🤣 Thank you for all the other suggestions too. I think Shawn would LOVE some of those breakfast burritos to take in to work with him! 😋
Dad loved watermelon which we ate all summer long. Mom made watermelon rind pickles - so sweet. I miss them. My sister has the recipe so I can ask for a copy of it
Hi sweet family 💝. You're neighbor here in Desloge. I've been really sick for about 2 weeks so I am catching up! Of course these are my favorite ones all the good food lol. We are getting a 10 box I'm bonne terre so I am going to rewatch some of your videos to grasp how it works!! Could you please tell me how you make your parsley potatoes!! They look delicious 😋 I'm assuming boil them and add butter and parsley? Anything else? I hope you guys see this lol. Much love to you from me!!
Have you tried cutting up hot dogs and adding it to your chili? It's a game changer for us. My Husband thought it would be kind of dumb until he tried it. We have often put it onto our hotdogs, but cutting them up is definitely a game changer. It's so good, better than it sounds 😊
I LOVE watching your channel! I'm constantly looking for new videos. This is how I spend my time drinking coffee. I'm a shut in, just had 2nd round of Chemo last Wednesday. Thank you so much for sharing
Teresa, I'm so glad you're enjoying our family's channel! It really does bless me to know that we might be helping you to smile while you're going through treatment. Sending love to you from the Ozarks!! 🥰💞🥰♥
Teresa, my middle daughter went through the whole cancer/chemo(20 weeks)/radiation(36 times) experience in 2018 -2019 at the age of 36. It was so hard watching her go through all of it because it was almost more than I could bear, but she was so brave and such a champion the entire time. She just passed her five year mark and had another scan and she is still cancer free!! We absolutely could not have gotten through all of that without a whole army of prayer warriors who stayed with us the entire time. I’m going to appointment myself as a member of your prayer warrior team and will be praying for strength and complete healing for you!! You’ve got this! Our Favorite saying is don’t tell God how big your trouble is, tell your trouble how big your God is!! 🙏❤🙏🌻
Diets low in healthy fats like Omega3, etc., can also produce peanut butter cravings. Everyone’s body is different and just requires different amounts of different things to keep it happy. 🙂
My washing machine died over Easter last year. The only one within 40 miles from us was at a Hardware store in another small town, here in rural Australia. After 16 months of using the tiny washer my son had had enough and surprised me with a washer big enough to wash king size bedding. Thankfully we're a family of 3 adults, son is 24, so a small washer was easier for us than for your slightly larger family.
HELLO i love these videos im not sure why watching you feed your precious family gives me so muc joy but it does im so happy you and your family are back on a regular basis also happy Sean is doing better ❤love you and your family Does the yellow watermelon taste like the red watermelon
Thank you so much for the kind comment! Personally, I think the yellow watermelons taste very similar to the red ones. They're just a novelty that I think is fun to have on the homestead. 😉
Hi Ozark family. The supper looks super good👍 I love Asparagus., but I never like carrots. Thank you for the video. Looking forward to your next video. Take care❤❤❤. Watching from Malaysia 🇲🇾
Sarah you probably need minerals if you're craving peanut butter. A good pinch of real mineral salt like Redmond's real salt in your water or food will do the trick. ☺️ Also be careful with peanut butter it's very hard on the liver and it has a high omega 6 which can cause problems, especially if it's not organic. Peanut butter has a high pesticide load and a toxic mold. To lessen this, organic Valencia peanut, peanut butter is a good option with just peanuts and salt. 😉
Sarah, When you are craving peanut butter, make yourself a smoothie. My current favourite is banana, peanut butter, dates, maple and cocoa/chocolate, and milk. It turns out like a caramel peanut butter milkshake/thick shake.

Your comment made me smile, Gayla! Thanks a bunch! 🥰
Love your channel …it’s like receiving a big warm hug 🤗….just spotted that gorgeous homemade rag doll on the table …it’s the little things 😊
Your children are so lucky to have such great parents like you two. I wish I had a dad like Shawn when I was growing up. Your daughters are sure to pick great men for husbands and your sons will treat some lucky lady so great. God bless your family! I wish everyone was like your family 💜
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a kind comment! I appreciate you being sweet to us! 🥰💕🥰♥
Another great video, I really enjoy the what you eat in a week, it's nice to see what other families are having so we can get ideas too 😁
Another fun “foodie” video!
All of your Children are so precious, gifted and talented/ awesome Mama and Dad!!!!!!!😊❤🙏🏻
Ms. Ruby
Everything looks delicious!!! TFS ❤️
The kids are adorable!
I just love Rebecca's impression of a tiger. LOL I just love these videos great job Mama and hubby did great with the spaghetti dinner.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yay my favourite type of video from you! Have a good day everyone! 😊
Yay!! I'm so glad you like them! :)
Thank you , you have a great day as well ❤
Love Abigail’s smile!😊
Maybe a tip for Sarah: Make satesaus from the peanutbutter. That's a little more runny/juicy, and will stick less to your braces. You can make it as thick or thin as you like. Even spice it up with some worcestershire or soysaus. That way you can satisfy your craving for: PEANUTS!!
Oooh, I had to look that up as I had never heard of it before! Thanks for the tip - I'll pass it along to Sarah! 💕
Hello 👋 2 yr olds always makes your day happy & bright 😂
Yes, definitely! She's a joy to have around! :)
All your meals look delicious😊 David is such a good sport God Bless You all
David is usually the comedian in the family, so he especially appreciates a good joke! 🤣

Cheri, thank you for taking the time to leave a sweet comment! I hope you know that we're all very glad that you're here! 💕
David is so smart your a GREAT MOM😊❤
Wow,Everything looks so good. I'm hungry now😁
I just love Abigail’s sweet smile 😊 she reminds me of my daughter Niamh ❤
Mmm beef stroganoff one of my favorites! That’s the best cookbook! My mom got one when she got married and I used it growing up! I found the same copy she had 60’s version in an antique store and have it for my own family!! I would pick the supreme pizza you like too that looked delicious! I may have to try and make your sausage! I have some spice allergies and sometimes have problems with store bought breakfast sausage!
Such sweet children❤
Such a beautiful family
Moma, how do never look tired? You have such a beautiful family. Bless.
Oh my, you're sweet to me!! I don't do much filming when I have my sleepy face on! :)
You are the first person who makes parsley potatoes too !!!! Must be a Missouri thing !! 😁
Sarah you are an amazing baker! The biscuits and muffins looked really good. Take care.
Wonderful video! Appreciate you all❤
My dad loved watermelon rind pickles and he was a very picky eater. Really enjoyed this video😊

Homesteading with the Zimmermanns is another good channel.
I'm so glad we were able to catch you before you went to bed! We love you too and we're always, always grateful for your support and kind comments! :)
Oooh yes, I love that channel too! :)
A baked potato topped with chili is delicious. Cheese, sour cream etc on top is optional.
Dad loved watermelon which we ate all summer long. Mom made watermelon rind pickles - so sweet. I miss them. My sister has the recipe so I can ask for a copy of it
I have my moms BHG cookbook that she got for a wedding gift in 1957
Love that!! 💕
Love you all So Much! Cinnamon is very healthy! ❤
Good morning from Oregon.. 🌲💚
Sarah is craving the protein , that's why she is craving peanut butter 😊
Diets low in healthy fats like Omega3, etc., can also produce peanut butter cravings. Everyone’s body is different and just requires different amounts of different things to keep it happy. 🙂
My washing machine died over Easter last year. The only one within 40 miles from us was at a Hardware store in another small town, here in rural Australia. After 16 months of using the tiny washer my son had had enough and surprised me with a washer big enough to wash king size bedding. Thankfully we're a family of 3 adults, son is 24, so a small washer was easier for us than for your slightly larger family.
HELLO i love these videos im not sure why watching you feed your precious family gives me so muc joy but it does im so happy you and your family are back on a regular basis also happy Sean is doing better ❤love you and your family
Does the yellow watermelon taste like the red watermelon
Thank you so much for the kind comment! Personally, I think the yellow watermelons taste very similar to the red ones. They're just a novelty that I think is fun to have on the homestead. 😉
Sarah your biscuits are blue ribbon worthy.
Thank you. I haven't tried turkey bacon yet. Love lives at your home.
The girls are so sweet!
Hi Ozark family. The supper looks super good👍 I love Asparagus., but I never like carrots. Thank you for the video. Looking forward to your next video. Take care❤❤❤. Watching from Malaysia 🇲🇾
Always glad to see you here! :) We sure do appreciate you supporting our family!
@@ozarkfamilyhomestead 😇😇💞💜❤️
Wow that is big I thought it was a turkey at first
I have this cookbook I’ve had it for years I think I purchased it at a thrift store 😊
I love these ‘what we eat videos’. Great family and I send my love. Battery is going down on my iPad so I must go…❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
Always, always, always glad to see you here, Vikki! 🥰💕🥰♥
Great family ❤
Sarah,
When you are craving peanut butter, make yourself a smoothie. My current favourite is banana, peanut butter, dates, maple and cocoa/chocolate, and milk. It turns out like a caramel peanut butter milkshake/thick shake.
Yum! I’m gonna give this a try!
