A few sidenotes/Background-Infos for you: - Ultras: Ultra-lifestyle is an own culture connected to mostly Football (european one), but (depending on country) also Basketball, Hockey, Handball, ... Ultras originated in Italy and the Balkans (those two are arguing about who started it really), and are own "supporters clubs" whose lifes completely spin around their club (and with that I mean everything. Real ultras choose their jobs (if they even have one), partners, living conditions by which gives them the best possibility to not miss out on anything club related). Most Ultras (or at least sub-groups) are at every single match of their club, be it in the next town or on the other side of Europe. They think about those amazing choreographies you see, the chants, etc. Now this is the positive side. The negative side: They are radicals in every sense of the word. Depending on country (some countries are known to be more extreme than others) If you go to a match in the colors of a rival team (lets say you go to a game of AEK Athens wearing the green of Panathinaikos) it's pretty much like walking through Lebanon waving an Israeli flag. They are willing to fight (and if necessary die) for their colors (which occasionally leads to war-like situations surrounding the matches). Also, they have strong opinions on what is best for the club and are also often willing to use force to get stuff done. It often happened that a manager or player was released because he couldn't get along with the fans. (Currently, nearly every German first league match has long interruptions because all Ultra groups are protesting against a shady decision by the league to sell out to investors; They throw tennis balls, use RC-cars, etc. etc). Some of them are also heavily political with extreme positions. E.g. The Lazio Ultras make Trump look like Marx, while Marx would be considered center right if you compare him to the Ultras of St. Pauli or Celtic Glasgow. - Flares: They are basically emergency flares like you have on ships (magnesium, copper, etc. depending on which color), and they are forbidden pretty much everywhere. But if you want to bring something like that into the Stadium, you'll find a way (and when it's in form of Choreos, the guys burning them usually know what they are doing) - The Ultras in the video: I personally think that at least 2 (BVB and Celtic) are waaaay overrated. Yes, situational they can be immensely loud, and especially Dortmund has its "yellow wall" (the Ultra stand, which is the biggest One-tier fanstand in Europe), but most of the time its just 2-3.000 that make the noise. I was there twice and was heavily disappointed both times. IMHO even in Germany, Clubs like Eintracht Frankfurt or Dynamo Dresden (they are playing 3rd tier at the moment!) have way better and louder Ultras
Man, I never comment on this reaction video but I got to say, this reaction is really cool! Maybe because I am a bit drunk atm but this sh!t is gold! XD Greetings from Portugal and keep them coming DrunkTexan!

Mind you, this was like back in the mid 90's.
The channel's name is in Greek lol It's pronounced "Thira efta" which means "gate seven" referring to the supporter group of Olympaicos Peireos from Peireos near Athens in Greece, one of the biggest clubs in Greece

Haha everyone is very passionate about the game! Best of luck! Ps. You could do a shorter video checking out football chants at the games. That might be popular and funny for your channel. Cheers my man, best of luck!!
The reason you don't have it in the US? Is because you have teams, and not clubs. In Europe you are born into the club. You start playing in the club as a minor. The clubs have all sorts of sports. Football, basketball, handball, icehockey. Everything. And several teams in each of them. 1st, 2nd, 3,rd depending on how big the club is. That create a very passionate fanbase. Because most of them are members of the club, and not just fans with a season ticket to the team. Good vid btw.
I love this about a lot of European sport clubs. In the UK you usually have to play for a different smaller club than the football club you support. And if you play a different sport you need another different club. There isn't the same connection from grassroots to the biggest stage.
It´s all about PASSION for the club you love! The fans hearts have the same colours as the team they loved since they were kids, and they´re dads took them to see the kids first football game!
I'm here watching your reaction with about 6 glasses of nice and cold Gemišt (white wine and sparkling water) and enjoying your reaction. Big love from Croatia. Cheers!!!
Legia warsaw was protesting against UEFA the european governing body for football. So it goes Country FA < UEFA< FIFA. Legia kept getting fined or stadium bans by UEFA for loads of things and DSQ from certain competitions. So the Ultras did a whole host of Tifos and protests. Which that was one of them.
Look up the clip of Lech Poznan (Polish team) travelling to games in Europe with 50,000 fans in one mass unit, swarming into the town square, chanting continuously, real unity. Awesome.
The first chant of Paok ultras is based on an Italian popular song of the past that was used in the Italy’s curve’s as fan song. Than this chorus was exported in all Europe stadiums..
I was waiting for you to get to Red Star Belgrade, because every Ultras video showcases them at some point. And it's even crazier when you realize the players tunnel to get to the field goes UNDERNEATH THOSE STANDS!
Also, it's not only from Europe. Casablanca is in North Africa, in Morrocco. Also, Besiktas is technically not in Europe (they have their stadium on the Asian side of the Bosphorus). Though Turkey is a European nation.
@@victorcapel2755 culture, race, religion niether of those things are european. Turks are asian and that will never change just because they conquered some european land
Good! What you hear are not cannons, but firecrackers! Both flares, torches and firecrackers are banned in European Stadiums but they manage to sneak them in! The Ultras are the most Fanatical Supporters you can meet, as they will Support the Club's team not only in a Football game but in any Team Modality in which the Club participates!
Mike.. You’re Back..!!! How long have you been back? Last time I saw you (about 2 yrs ago) you were giving up on UA-cam. Glad to see you back where you belong. 🎉🤪👍🏻
Regarding Legia: They were controversially thrown out of the Champions League (remember that tournament) by the UEFA fatcats (hence the pig) for fielding an ineligible player despite having beaten Celtic 6-1 on aggregate (hence the 6 smaller than 1).
Can you imagine the looks you'd get if you and your friends went to an NFL game and tried getting the crowd going like that?!!! We make the Bills Mafia look like prim ladies at a teaparty 😂😂
I'm from Europe, Italy. I try to explain why we're so engaged in our footbal matches. Most of the teams are 100+ years old, usually founded by worker class associations to represent the city they live in. Supporting a team is a familiy tradition passed from parents to child. It's not "sport", it's traditions, it's the stories your grand dad told you while you were walking to the stadium the first time you attended a match with him and your dad
If you want to avoid your beer spilling/spraying everywhere, just stand it upright and rotate the can a couple of times before opening. Not sure exactly why it works (something to do with centrifugal force, pulling the bubbles into the middle), but it works. Even with cans you've only just dropped.
The Ultras have a specific stand just for them and if you're not an Ultra or go with one, you do not buy tickets to the Ultra's zone. The other parts of the stadium are pretty much safe, and you can enjoy the game, without passing out from the smoke, get beer all over you or being elbowed during the chantings... unless one of those very lights gets thrown off.
mate i just checked your movie. thing is that those flares and piro are brought to stadium much before game. Ultras guys got access to stadium earlier , security got access to stadium earlier. This is how piro is brought to stadium
Before ex Yougoslavia got fucked up, in late 80' as a kid and Red Star fan was happy and honored to watch some one of the best players in Europe and to be on one of the bigest stadiums in Europe with capacity of over 100 000 people.Back then it was normall and safe for us kids to watch football because there was not crime, police everywhere anf people were normall. I remember that noize, it was over 90 000 fans against Dinamo Zagreb...and Im watching top players like Prosinrčki,Savićević,Pančev.And I waited half time just to run players tunel to throw high five. And I got high five with all three...I was on heaven 🤗
In the last clip of football, where the whole thing looks like it’s on fire…did you notice the security in the yellow vests just standing there looking😂😂😂😂😂
During a Beşiktaş - Leipzig game, Beşiktaş fans made so much noise that a player from Leipzig couldn't handle the noise and wanted a substitute. That was something.
Recipe for good European Football chant is to take any short well known song and change the lyrics to be about one of the other team's scandals, or anything controversial that is impactful for large enough crowd. Now to Americanize it... Take a well known folk song and change the lyrics to something that is PG on the surface no matter how dertey it is underneath the facade.
7:24 This is probably a protest against the proposed superleague which would benefit all the big teams by giving them a copius amount of money and removing the relegation system. The very idea of a superleague is not brought up anymore by UEFA or by professional football clubs. They're too scared of how the fans will react. The protests against the proposed superleague were very extreme. I was only a referee for a year when these protests were getting rampant and the crowds were very intimidating during that period.
First I wanna say great reaction, really fun to watch. Secondly I wanna recommend two videos 1. Ultras - Our way of Life (10k special) by Stimmen der Kurve 2. Why Ultras are so important for Football by Copa90
@6:10 - Don't worry - Greek names are a bit tough... that one is pronounced Fess-a-lonn-eee-kie... Thessaloniki. Great place with great bars and very friendly locals.... You really start getting stumped when they name the same place twice.... Zante is the same place as Zakynthos. Those crazy Greeks loves to mess with you! hehehe. However, I only had good times out in Greece - cant say that for Portugal, France, Italy, Spain - or UK.... football is NORMALLY fun, but over-excitement can easily get ugly. A good fan moves light, always has water and if you're preped, a small first aid kit - even just a few bandages and some glue. Yes, glue. You can patch someone up in the middle of a riot with a bit of cotton and some glue. "MEDIC!!!!!" hehehe....
Its normal for us here in Europe. Nobody died at these frames and smokes. Usually that happened in sectors where are the biggest fans are. We got culture and experience about that. Good video !

It's a common problem for Americans who essentially live in an isolated bubble, without exposure to the rest of the world. I'd love to see American football teams tour Europe or south America and face this level of passion and commitment. I wonder if they could complete the tour ....... ? Regards
They do tour Europe mate. They’ve played a few games at wembeley and some in Germany I believe which has been a huge success. I’ve just got into the nfl myself and love the passion….. btw drunk Texan Check out our version of nfl which is rugby….. proper hard men shit lol
@@peterkelly9675 Pleased to hear it. Travel broadens the mind doesn't it, so if the travelling teams - and fans - can experience some of this passion on their tours it can only serve to benefit American football. Plus the opportunity to experience food that isn't more chemical than organic ! Regards
In USA everything is basicaly commercial, their whole "culture" revolves around chasing money and material things till a day you die, thats why they cannot comprehend stuff like this.
Red star is something else. If you want to see some more look up the Red Star vs Partizan derby , probably the best one in europe
Fun fact, in Sweden its illegal to take flares in to the stadium but people are smuggling it in anyways😂😂😂
in most other countries (e.g. Germany) that's the case too.
THANK YOU for NOT turning the sound down and next May,I enter my 8th decade and for the last 7 decades I have supported MILLWALL of South East London all over England.
I hope you enjoyed that,nice,gentle introduction,my friend...:)

A few sidenotes/Background-Infos for you:
- Ultras: Ultra-lifestyle is an own culture connected to mostly Football (european one), but (depending on country) also Basketball, Hockey, Handball, ...
But if you want to bring something like that into the Stadium, you'll find a way (and when it's in form of Choreos, the guys burning them usually know what they are doing)
- The Ultras in the video: I personally think that at least 2 (BVB and Celtic) are waaaay overrated.
Interestingly, the extremist Ultra bases are often in clubs from a city with another big club, usually both clubs lean opposite ways politically
Man, I never comment on this reaction video but I got to say, this reaction is really cool!
Maybe because I am a bit drunk atm but this sh!t is gold! XD

You summed up European Ultras perfectly when you said "Nothing's on fire...Yet!"

Of course Bayern Munich sucks big time if you'd ask me. Let's pull down their leather pants!
Haha but the Fans from Dortmund and Cologne are great. The Bavaria Munich Fans are like the US Audience : Boring 😂 ❤Besiktas❤

American: Is that normal?!! Is that real soccer game???
Europeans: Yes.
Regarding the fire hazards...
Yeah... I once had to flee because our own fans set the roof of our own stadium on fire. (Second to last game ever to be played in that stadium due to a new stadium being built at the time and being ready for the next season.)
Small local club NAC-Breda, in the Netherlands.
Mind you, this was like back in the mid 90's.
Fires are banned for a long time but unfortunately some people have big holes in their bodies😂
Good to see ya back mate!
The channel's name is in Greek lol
It's pronounced "Thira efta" which means "gate seven" referring to the supporter group of Olympaicos Peireos from Peireos near Athens in Greece, one of the biggest clubs in Greece
Wow I wasnt even close!
Hey bud,
Loving your last couple of videos, definitely think you will find an audience for your channel. Best of luck to you. Ohh btw, you need to choose a team to support! I’m from Newcastle upon Tyne. We are Newcastle United. The Toon army! We just changed owners after 15 years of hell. Got champions league last year (finishing top 4 in Prem). Haha everyone is very passionate about the game! Best of luck!
Ps. You could do a shorter video checking out football chants at the games. That might be popular and funny for your channel.
Cheers my man, best of luck!!

Thanks for Dan Ashworth!
If a „top 10 ultras“ includes Celtic fans, you have to stop immediately and ask yourself wtf are you watching!
Top 10 Europe Ultras: Casually putting Raja+Wydad Casablanca in this aswell, i love it!
I'm here watching your reaction with about 6 glasses of nice and cold Gemišt (white wine and sparkling water) and enjoying your reaction. Big love from Croatia. Cheers!!!
7:46 it is aimed at EUFA. European football union.
You Have no idea how good This is
Red Star Fan here
Also, it's not only from Europe. Casablanca is in North Africa, in Morrocco.
Also, Besiktas is technically not in Europe (they have their stadium on the Asian side of the Bosphorus). Though Turkey is a European nation.

I do not think that you have noticed it but in some of Olympiakos and Panathinaikos clips are from basketball courts. Which is INSANE
Just a week! Glad to see you, I remember you!
The basketball game at the end, they were playing the FIBA (european champions league) anthem via speakers and the fans were chanting over it. :)
I appreciate a lot when you say socc.. ehm football.. as a Texan the homeland af American football! This shows you pay attention to the ward used..
so... just from a European point of view... what you are drinking, is not a "beer"...
casablanca is europe now?
Drunk American : "this is a family channel" LOL
American Sport Support is Entertainment , European Sport Support is Passion!
since when is casablanca in Europe?
Ultras are insane....big passion 💯
Regarding Legia: They were controversially thrown out of the Champions League (remember that tournament) by the UEFA fatcats (hence the pig) for fielding an ineligible player despite having beaten Celtic 6-1 on aggregate (hence the 6 smaller than 1).
Cunt's are still bitter fer yer fuck up LMAO
USA: "FLARES OUT!" = Jet ejecting heat seeker decoy
Europe: "FLARES OUT!" = 16:39
Can you imagine the looks you'd get if you and your friends went to an NFL game and tried getting the crowd going like that?!!! We make the Bills Mafia look like prim ladies at a teaparty 😂😂
Morocco now in Europe?
I'm from Europe, Italy. I try to explain why we're so engaged in our footbal matches.
Most of the teams are 100+ years old, usually founded by worker class associations to represent the city they live in. Supporting a team is a familiy tradition passed from parents to child. It's not "sport", it's traditions, it's the stories your grand dad told you while you were walking to the stadium the first time you attended a match with him and your dad
Good to see you back 👍
If you want to avoid your beer spilling/spraying everywhere, just stand it upright and rotate the can a couple of times before opening.
Not sure exactly why it works (something to do with centrifugal force, pulling the bubbles into the middle), but it works. Even with cans you've only just dropped.
His first drink most likely had no time to settle
It's the bubbles that form on the inside. You can also tap the cap without swirling it, works even better.
Minute 5:15 - We're allowd to bring flares to the stadium, but we're not allowed to bring guns in a supermarket. You choice what's less safe
Ur a cowboy untill you to a football game..
Americans: is a nice day to go see a game with ma kids.
Europeans: hold my beer, this is sparta.
Fun fact, those “crowds” were at friendly Sunday league games. You should see the derbies.. 😅
Thanks for honest reaction, Egyptian team Zamalek🇦🇹 ultras (White Knights) should be on this list for sure! 👍
mate i just checked your movie. thing is that those flares and piro are brought to stadium much before game.

In the last clip of football, where the whole thing looks like it’s on fire…did you notice the security in the yellow vests just standing there looking😂😂😂😂😂
how can you say "beer" to the stuff you are drinking.
You should do a video on the planned rumbles between European Ultras
"MEDIC!!!!!" hehehe....
never have i heard an american say "don't worry about the explosions it's fine" 😅🤣
Suggest you react to why there are very few flares at English games, check out Bradford City, Valley Parade ground.

Its normal for us here in Europe. Nobody died at these frames and smokes. Usually that happened in sectors where are the biggest fans are. We got culture and experience about that. Good video !

In the last clip the anthem of the competition they are playing in is supposed to be playing, but you barely hear it because of the crowd.
