What’s crazy is when I was relaxed and didn’t pay attention to any of this stuff, no issues. No hygral fatigue problems. Become natural and bam all these rules. While I’m never returning to a relaxer, it was definitely less demanding. I agree on coconut oil. It’s a terrible sealant but a fabulous pre-poo
I think its because, in its relaxed state, the cuticle lays at its flattest so does not take too much water in and therefore avoids the hydral fatigue. The strand is also straight enough for the scalp's natural oils to run down the strands length keeping the strand fairly moisturised. The biggest obstacle w kinky hair is that our natural oils cannot get to the bottom of the hair shaft because of the. Strand shape which leaves us with dull, dry hair.
So true. Used to slap on oil and creme unto DRY hair. No problem. Start trying LOC, LCO now PMP/PIMP. My high porosity hair is confusedandbreaking.com 😣

Now it all makes sense!! My mom would always apply blue magic to my hair (high porosity) and it was healthy and retained its length. But I tried to get fancy and listened to others when they said hair grease was bad....welp...returning to basics. Thank you so much for this video!
So interesting how having a different porosity can affect you. I have low porosity hair and grease/butters always left my hair whether relaxed or natural parched.
Hi! I’ve never used hair grease before, but I also have high porosity hair and I’m struggling! When do you apply blue magic in your hair care routine??
My hair is dense. I'm not achieving growth in length, which is my goal. I'm frustrated that it's taking me this long to understand how to care for MY 4C hair. This channel will be my last and only place for guidance. 🥰
God sent me an Angel! I was about to give up and go back to relaxing. My hair was healthy, grew longer and was not dry. My hair is still long but dry and lots of breakage. I've learned so much in the 3 weeks that I found this channel. Thank You Lord. Thank You Hair Angel! Knowledge is power🌹
SunRae* ** It’s about 1/4 cup aloe, 1/4 cup rose water, 1/8 cup glycerin, and maybe a tablespoon of avocado oil. Store in the fridge (use the aloe juice without preservatives) and shake vigorously before and during use since the oil will separate. My hair loves it and I hope yours will too.
I use this moisturizer on my daughters, one has low porosity and one has high porosity and it does great on both....rose water, olive oil, vitamin E oil, and a splash of wild hair growth oil, in a spray bottle.
I've been doing this method for years since I found out my hair is naturally high porosity. Game changers. Great to know I've been doing the right things.
I'm so thankful I discovered your channel! I have HPH and tried the PMP method and I was shocked! I used coconut oil, a little water from my spray bottle then followed with a cream based sealant. My hair was soft and fluffy for 5 days!!! When I wld use hair conditioner mixed in a spray bottle, my hair felt rough and dry. I cldnt understand what I was doing wrong. But, since I've being using this method, my hair feels and responds sooo much better. Thank you!!
I have HPH too. I use LLGA method I made up and my hair is hydrated for over a week before I need to refresh. Liquid leave in Leave in (creamy) Grease to seal in moisture Acid-spray diluted ACV to close cuticles
This channel has been very beneficial because I really love Chemistry (I’m studying the subject as an A level) but in organic chemistry we haven’t focused on the practical knowledge. I was smiling because I understood the skeletal formulas of the flavonoids so I will try using oils that I actually understand about. I might include this channel in my personal statement because I want to study a Chemistry degree.☺️
I remember my cousin use to do her siblings hair because their mom passed when they were young and she use to use water, a detangling brush and Blue magic and their hair grew super long!
Moisturizersss my low porosity hair is like mehhh. Once I have a good leave in, some warm water and a medium oil, my hair is good to go. When I had locs my hair loved burnt sugar pomade by oyin. Its too heavy for my loose hair so I have to use a tinnny bit. Its good because its oil content is good so I can use it after a leave in and skip the oil. It is all about listening to your hair and knowing how it reacts. I can't do too much protein and I keep an eye on the moisture content of items and water. There is just so much!!! Still, I am thriving. I appreciate the knowledge and not the brand chasing information. New subscriber.
Your tips have transformed my hair!!! Goodbye expensive products with crazy ingredients. Nothing has worked better! I can’t believe all I needed was some coconut oil, olive oil, castor oil and hair grease. My hair has never looked nor felt better. Thank you.
I've been doing this method on my daughter's hair. I use a different leave in every week but the star of the show is the Blue Magic Super Gro!!!!!! 🤩🤩🤩 Honey my baby's hair was moisturized for days!!!! And so shiny!!! I see a big difference since I've started doing this method. Thank you so much!!!
I use water, Suave Tropical Coconut conditioner as a creamy moisturizer and then seal it all in with hair grease. I love it! My hair stays moisturized for a long time.
@@joricks5007 I wouldn't say wet, but yes it is damp. Within a few hours, it's not as damp, much dryer but still feels moisturized, if that makes any sense.
@@isaackdowling2727 If I'm doing a co-wash or a deep conditioner, then yes I'll rinse out the conditioner. But I actually dilute the suave conditioner to use as a moisturizer. Keeps my hair hydrated for a long time.
Thank you for this video...I went natural 8 years ago after relaxing my hair for over 30 years when my mom had my hair permed as a child because she didnt know how to handle my thick curly hair. I grew my relaxer out and finally remembered what my hair looked like as a kid. I wear my hair straight..I am puerto rican and I would go to my dominican hair salon and she would do my have hair and I would maintan it at home with rollers or doobie at night. Since the pandemic I have been on my own and my hair had become dry, it was shedding more and my ends were tangling more. I did exactly what you said to do...I have high porosity hair...I had some coconut oil..did the pre-pro over night.....I co washed with my wen fig...mixed some wen, aloe vera juice and water in my spray bottle and used organic hemp seed oil. My hair felt softer just from the wash...it did shed but less..I did do little braids, sprits it the solution for moisture and protected with the hemp oil...my ends were popping with the curls...my hair feels and looks so much better...Thank you...I have learned how to take care of my hair while I remain at home and the pre -poo before wash day. I am learning now how to refresh it when the time comes. Thank you so much...I have learned alot from you. Since you did a video on oils for the hair...can you do it for the skin? Does the oils the pentrate and protect does that apply to how the skin will react to it? I want to use oils for my dry mature skin. Thank you
I have been following you for a while now. And I've decided to try adding hair grease to my regimen. And OMG it has made a huge difference in my moisture retention. Thank you so much for that suggestion because I totally forgot about hair grease. My favorite hair grease is Palmer's olive oil growth therapy and my favorite moisturizer is Camille Rose honey hydrate leave in collection. Thanks again and I wish you much success. Please continue to keep us educated on how to care for our hair.
You know that sensation of understanding at least 95% of the video content beforehand but feel happy to support a fellow informative melaninated, gorgeous naturalista with your time and attention? ...Yup, I feel that way too. 😁😏🤗🙌🏾
Loving the info that is being brought forward here. The Hydral fatigue piece of info here was a game changer here for me, because no matter what I did, my hair was DRY. All growing up through now, my hairstylists in the salons have always commented about how dryyyyyyyy my hair was, with an exasperated question mark. Yet, no one ever offered a solution or helpful comments. Thank goodness for the internet and the info on hair porosity!!!! From there, when I would ask questions to my hairstylists, I would just get a blank look. I am now natural for over a year, and my hair is just still so dryyyy! My bathroom has every oil, several shampoos, several conditioners, silk bonnets, silk pillow cases, etc. I've got microwavable heating caps and electric. I've got vitamins, stocked refrigerator and cabinets with cucumbers, salmon, sardines, organic foods, collagen supplements. Hundreds of dollars! When I try something new, it works for 2 weeks, and then here comes queen sahara again. It's true that we all have to experiment to see what works for each of us. My hair has grown sooo much and become healthier for sure, but dry, dry dry and brittle. I am absolutely downloading your book and thank you for informing all on SCIENCE backed facts. Question: I thought petroleum was bad/toxic? (Hair grease). Is its processing ok?
Hey...just a suggestion...make a mixture of 50% water, 30% aloe vera juice and 20% glycerine then spritz on hair before sealing with oil/grease. Re-Spritz once every week and see if anything changes
Me: I'm a P.I.M.P Me: after watching video: staring at 98% my hair products with disdain. Honestly I stopped using most of them and just went back to blue magic with the coconut oil, olive oil, coconut oil (unrefined), Jamaican castor oil, and my shea butter (raw and african). IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW. I was constantly putting coconut oil on my hair after washing (w/ or w/o shampoo) and my hair would be bone dry in less than 3 hours but with pockets of dampness. I noticed my hair DID however look great when I pre-poo'd with coconut oil and then rinsed with hot water (for me I lowkey found this out on accident yeaaaars ago when I was running late for middle school and I put too much coconut oil in my hair and I was like nah I'm not bouta get roasted like that today so I leaned over the tub and rinsed it all out. I HAVE NEVER had my hair feel so soft and pantene-bougie. I don't know why I stopped doing that but I have recently returned to it after finally realizing that pree-pooing is not extra it is needed). Thank you soooo much for the videos. It's honestly hard to find good information not rooting in baseless fact in the natural hair care community (but this is slowly changing I have noticed) and It's between you and 3 other youtubers. Saving me money and giving me common hair sense. Priceless info. I usually don't comment much but I HAD to especially after the coconut oil bit. I have been wondering for years why it would leave my hair greasy but dry.
Chin926 I'm pretty sure Green Beauty is one of them, or should, given the fact she talks with foundation and gives tons of diy's with natural products. Check her out.
Yes I agree with you, her information is genuine and not borne out of a desire to also do hair videos cos she has nice hair which unfortunately most of our 4C sisters are doing. I have had the same issues with my hair and coconut oil and I just dropped a similar comment to yours:)
Thank you so much Curly Chemistry for this video! You answered a question I intuitively suspected about why my hair rejects cream-based moisturizers after a wash. My hair always preferred liquid-based leave-in conditioners, NOW I KNOW WHY!!! Thanks to your educational video, the missing piece to the hair-puzzle was the low porosity of my hair. I now know the right method for my hair and can't wait to try adding liquid to my leave-in cream conditioner to get the best results. Bless you for being such a smart curly chemist! MsECstreet :)
Hi; I was just scrolling in my phone and ran across you page so I read your headline, I been very passionate on ways to grow my hair longer, it had stop growing and I couldn't figure out why, I started apply things to hair that thought was healthy and watching u tube, so listening to you I been doing some things wrong. However watching your videos you gave some very important tips on how to take care of your hair it was very helpful & beneficial to help me along my hair journey I appreciate you, thank again.
The long awaited video from you!!! I commented on the video where you mentioned this PMP and I was amazed by how it is actually an enhancement/upgrade of LCO/LOC to prevent Hygral Fatigue!!!! Which is amazing. Thank you so much for sharing this useful science based knowledge!
Fenugreek tea with fresh AVG is my (fine, med. density, high porosity) hair's favorite moisturizer ever so far! Trying a fenugreek and amla tea this week and *loving* it!
Do you guys feel aloe Vera feels like dry gel on your hair once it dries? And don't you get those aloe flakes? Or the fact you follow it with shea butter or oil diminishes this effect of its gel. I mean I know it is a gel indeed.
@Kahdija Omer, I agree with you, the gel does leave flakes when dry. That's how I started before I realised it. Now I add one cup of aloe Vera gel to two cups of water then spritz it on my hair in sections before sealing with the Shea butter. I add vanilla essential oil to the Shea butter so my hair will smell nice.
I love aloe Vera juice! I mix it 50/50 with Infusium 23 & spray on after I shampoo & condition with Creme of Nature. I lightly oil my scalp with Doo Gro Mega thick, follow that with Shea butter, seal all with Blue Magic Naturals. Easy on the budget. I get long, strong locks in return. 🕊
Sta-sof-fro by Softsheen Carson. I have low porosity hair. Then castor oil to seal. Works like a charm for me for softness and manageability for years!
I must admit this is one of the most positive and informative posts I’ll definitely be following you. I’m high porosity and have been the method you’ve mentioned for a few years. Thank for being clear and concise with your information. Be blessed

I stopped spraying water on my hair as it caused me to experience hydral fatigue and was drying out my hair. I also do not use aloe vera, unless it's raw and in its muchilage state, otherwise my hair would dry out as well. I will try the PMPS method
The visible, resplendent health of your hair and your chemistry expertise set you apart - kudos! Subscribing now! I have hair video binge fatigue and am relieved to find conclusive information backed by scientific research!
I’m a firm believer in hair, skin, and nails vitamins! They even made my eyelashes grow- top and bottom. I no longer wear lashes, just mascara. My moisturizer is Shea Moistures Curl Enhancing Smoothie. Great on my hair and scalp.
This explains why when i was experimenting with oil as my prepoo my hair was so soft after I washed. And because im high porosity, i tried a hot oil treatment under the dryer before i washed my hair and it was EVERYTHING. Glad to see this is backed up by science.
I love your energy. I cut my hair 3 years ago and I want to start growing it again all natural and you're really helping me get loads of information especially things I didn't even know were important. Thank you ❤
No disrespect intended because I have high regard for experiential knowledge, but honestly, It's hard to listen to others now that don't have the education that you do. I love the science. The video about the proper time to treat your hair...blew my mind. I'm sharing this channel with everyone that I know. If you get monetized, I promise to not skip the ads!!!
I will try this. My hair confuses me. I try a method one time and my hair loves it, I try the same method another time and my hair hates it. She is so sassy!!
I love that you came with straight FACTS. It means a lot and I can tell that you're actually passionate about the health of our hair. Not just how it looks or how it's styled because honestly your hair can be styled where it looks wonderful but underneath it's scraggly ,dry ,brittle ,heat damaged ,broken off ,and has split ends ! Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that you've gained a new subscriber and I love your content!!!!!💯💯💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I have high porosity hair and just started using Kinky Curly Knot Today Leave-In with good results. I think the slippery elm and marshmellow root help to coat the hair and smooth the cuticles which provides slip so my hair doesn't tangle around itself quite as much. I also started spraying a 50:50 alove vera juice and water mixture before the leave in.
I use the Knot Today mixed with aloe vera juice because I pH tested the Knot Today and it was pH 6. That's a bit too high for my high porosity hair so the AVJ lowers it to 4-5 and then I can seal with an oil or butter. Hair has a natural pH of 4.5 to 5.5.
I had been avoiding oils for a while after hearing some tubers rant about butters and oils. My hair suffered. I cook with Avocado oil, so I put some into a dropper bottle to keep with my hair care supplies. I put some on my hair when I'm setting it before bed and the next morning my hair was in much better shape.
I consider leave ins as moisturizers. I apply them in the shower. Some I like: Koils by nature leave in. Knot sauce by Soultanicals, curl moisture cream from obia naturals. Looking to try moisture loves leave in serum.
Yes!! You would never know my hair is curly. But when I apply oil after showering my hair will curl so much. My hair loves oil!!! However I have so much hair & it takes so much oil to evenly distribute 😩 and we know these oils ain't cheap! I'm at a loss. I haven't been able to embrace my natural hair because of this. I will try this method and see if I can get the results I desire.
Oh my soul. I watched this a week ago and I decided to try this method. My hair loves itt😭 I’ve been able to retain moisture for 5 days❤️ thank you @Curly Chemistry ❤️
I love how you break things down chemically 💞I've talked about various oils and their uses on my channel because it's important to understand what you're putting on your hair.
I have low porosity hair. My hair loves glycerine! I dont’ care what people say. It actually holds moisture longer with a wash, a light leave in and a mix of glycerine and blue magic. Sometimes, a gel is too much for it. If I use a gel, I use one that has a high glycerine content. The SHINE Curl activator was my favorite before discontinuing! I’m playing with some others now but nothing was as good. So now I’m home mixing in covid.
Great tips! Happy to know I’m on the right track.. I don’t have a favourite moisturizer because I’m unable to commit to any one product 🙈. My favourite leave ins though are Kinky Curly Knot Today and Giovanni Direct Leave In
I'm cheap-cheap, so I deep condition with design essentials rosemary & mint, rinse then layer on aussie mega-moist conditioner, followed by either my shea butter blend or some blue magic.
I use pomade from Carol's daughter then the garnier whole blends miracle nectar then the pure honey twisting cream from creme of nature.... stayed moisturized and soft for 5 days without a bonnet 😩😩😩 gonna see how long the moisture last with a bonnet on next time.
the way you explained this and the infographics you used made this click so easily for me. you’re a fantastic teacher! thank you so much for sharing your knowledge ❣️
Careful. Most of those products have different ingredients than they did during the Jheri curl era when length retention was flourishing. The bottles may look the same but man manufacturers eliminated so called bad ingredients during the "grease/mineral oil is bad" phase.
@@deva190 Right. I don't have the expertise of the Curly Chemist, so I asked her to review this, because the videos look really nice, but they're all amateurs. I worked hard to grow my hair via trial and error. I'm not doing that again. I have a peanut head. It's not cute with short hair.
My favorite natural leave-in moisturizing spritz contains rose water, aloe vera juice, EVOO, and avocado oil. I then place the spritz bottle in very warm water. Wait 5-10 minutes then spray my leave-in spritz all over my hair. Sometimes I will add several drops of lemongrass essential oil. This concoction leaves my hair soft and supple. I love it! I plan to add veggie glycerin in future preps.
Omg, I was waiting for this video thank you soo much. Please make a video on henna, and the best way to make it for kinky 4c hair. Keep up the good work. God bless you doll.
Great information! I have two favorite moisturizers. #1 - My water bottle contains water, my oil mix, and leave in conditioner. #2 - Hair Milk (Shea Moisture or Curls BlueberryBliss).
Ok this all sounds good for LP hair, but could you give recommendations for bone dry desert climate when there is no moisture in the atmosphere. Humectants would do the opposite. Thx
Got it. So coconut oil, liquid leave in Conditioner, and castor oil or hair grease that tcb oil to seal in all in for me. 1. Coconut oil 2. Liquid leave in Conditioner for that water! 3. Castor oil to seal (or that tcb oil to sit on the hair and seal in moisture) Sweet was wondering why my hair was dry after I put in water and coconut oil!! Now Inknow I have to get that third step- castor oil. Your awesome girl thank you!!
Thank you so so much! High porosity over here. No wonder my doo gro grease works so well for me and now I know WHY my hair looks bomb after my overnight prepoo with coconut oil. Sometimes I don't wanna wash my hair lol
I never even heard of PMP until now! You explained this so clearly! I don't really use coconut oil anymore but I will try it for penetration. I have low porosity hair and I really like the she moisture jbco leave in, creme of nature spray leave in and ziza leave in, a Nigerian Brand!
Oh, thank you sooo much, I've learned a lot and I am so happy. My favorite it moisture right now is Aloe Vera Juice ( Can you use just the juice without diluting it with water, or mixing it with something else). Right Now. I just put it in the spray bottle and just use it on my hair for now. Thank you so much for the info.
@@quitecontrary23 I buy it, The Fruit Of The Earth Aloe Vera Juice, it is so watery I just use it as is. I put it in a spray bottle and use it as my moisture. Thanks.
Thanx for not leaving us high porosity gals out! Often when ppl mention us, they always speak as if our hair is damaged. My hair grows from my scalp porous. I always prepoo with coconut oil & essential oils. I use knot today as my leave in, camille rose aloe whipped butter gel as my moisturizer/styler. Its aloe vera based so my hair loves it! My daily moisturizer is an aerosol bottle of 50% water, 50% aloe vera gel that has a ph of 4 to keep my cuticles sealed. And every washday I finish with an ACV rinse. Except I dont rinse it out. I want to try grease but afraid of damaging my hair. I've worked hard to get it as long as it is now and I'm just scared. I'm mainly afraid of constantly having to use SLS shampoos to remove it. Plus, although I'm HiPo, I have fine strands & thin to medium density. I prefer wearing my hair big & fluffy so I think that grease may weigh the fro down but maybe I can find a more viscous sealer. I feel like my LCO isnt enough though. Like i need a better sealant. My O step is castor, olive, grapeseed & sometimes I'll put coconut oil in there.
Could you cover products or haircare for people with fragrance allergies? I've been struggling too find products for my 3c/4a since removing all products with fragrance/essential oils since it affects my breathing.
Great tips👏🏽👏🏽 for my high porosity🤷🏽♀️ hair. Will start using hair grease alongside my hair moisturiser to help retain moisture and give a bit more volume to my hair, also pre- pooing hair with oil before washing.
Love your channel I am a high porosity girl and what your saying is absolutely right (of course it would be curly chemist)!! I do all these things and my hair is at its optimum health. Thanks so much for reassuring me that I’m going the right direction! Have a great weekend 😊

Thank you for the HighPo tips! I really appreciate this and agree! I think my hair was doing better when I used heavier oils and am about to switch back! Hair grease here I come! 😂
Im desperately looking for a moisturizer but your advice on liquid products over creams is already helping! My hair still feels a little weird but I got it in a ponytail today! Trust me, it's an accomplishment, my hair is usually too stiff 😂
Absolutely love your videos, they’ve been so so helpful :) I have a question though. When prepooing, can a penetrating oil do it’s job when you already have product in your hair (leave in, gel, protecting oil, etc.)? Oh also! TGIN Green Tea Super Moist Leave-in Conditioner is the BEST.
Yes! The majority of product will remain on the outer layer of the hair, a lot of what we think "goes into the hair" does not. So coconut oil for example is so tiny it's the perfect ingredient to by pass the cuticle and get inside despite what's on the outside. Now if you don't wash your hair for like 3-6 months and your hair has MASSIVE amounts of product build up then I doubt coconut oil will get very far.
Curly Chemistry cool, thanks :) I have one more question (sorry) I have a gigantic bottle of C8 mct oil. Would that work in place as a penetrating oil instead of coconut oil?

Now in wondering what to do I'm considering grapeseed oil since I have low porosity hair.
Any tips on good moisturizers?
I think its because, in its relaxed state, the cuticle lays at its flattest so does not take too much water in and therefore avoids the hydral fatigue. The strand is also straight enough for the scalp's natural oils to run down the strands length keeping the strand fairly moisturised. The biggest obstacle w kinky hair is that our natural oils cannot get to the bottom of the hair shaft because of the. Strand shape which leaves us with dull, dry hair.

I have HPH too. I use LLGA method I made up and my hair is hydrated for over a week before I need to refresh.
Liquid leave in
Leave in (creamy)
Grease to seal in moisture
Acid-spray diluted ACV to close cuticles

Hello what leave in
@@aurelie3150 right now I am loving the one from Melanin haircare. A little really goes a long way. Also the honey and pomegranate one from Mielle
Your tips have transformed my hair!!! Goodbye expensive products with crazy ingredients. Nothing has worked better! I can’t believe all I needed was some coconut oil, olive oil, castor oil and hair grease. My hair has never looked nor felt better. Thank you.
Thank you!! 😆😆
Penetrating oil - coconut oil, pree poo
Moisturizer- deep conditioning or leave in conditioner
Protecting oil - avocado and castor oil, hair grease
I use water, Suave Tropical Coconut conditioner as a creamy moisturizer and then seal it all in with hair grease. I love it! My hair stays moisturized for a long time.
Hi, when you seal it in with hair grease is your hair still wet?
@@joricks5007 I wouldn't say wet, but yes it is damp. Within a few hours, it's not as damp, much dryer but still feels moisturized, if that makes any sense.
This conditioner is the truth!!!
Do you wash out the conditioner before putting the grease in
@@isaackdowling2727 If I'm doing a co-wash or a deep conditioner, then yes I'll rinse out the conditioner.
Thank you
This video confirms what I learned from trial and error... oils are life for my hair and it does better with less water. Thanks for the great content.
I just tried this and omg my hair is so soft. It’s never felt like this! I can tell that my strands have really taken in the moisture. Thank you!!
Yay!! So glad you love it!! Thank you for sharing. ☺️
I started doing your method for this month Feb 2021, on my daughter and myself and omggggg, It's a game changer!!!
Yay! I’m glad to hear that! 😆
Me: I'm a P.I.M.P
Me: after watching video: staring at 98% my hair products with disdain.
Thank you so much Julisa! I'm glad the video was helpful! :-)
Who are the three?
Chin926 I'm pretty sure Green Beauty is one of them, or should, given the fact she talks with foundation and gives tons of diy's with natural products. Check her out.
@@AmbarGerman So funny bc I was thinking Green Beauty actually lol. I love her and have her products!
Yes I agree with you, her information is genuine and not borne out of a desire to also do hair videos cos she has nice hair which unfortunately most of our 4C sisters are doing. I have had the same issues with my hair and coconut oil and I just dropped a similar comment to yours:)
Wowwww, I have never in my life heard of over watering your hair 😳 Ya learn something new every day

Yayyy you're so welcome Khadija! :-)
Curly Chemistry isn’t PMP the same as LOC
I have high porosity hair and struggle w/retaining moisture I don't pre-poo but after this video, I will start.
Fenugreek tea with fresh AVG is my (fine, med. density, high porosity) hair's favorite moisturizer ever so far! Trying a fenugreek and amla tea this week and *loving* it!

Favorite moisturizer: Natural Aloe Vera Juice. Then I seal it with Shea butter
Me too! I make my own. The only con is that I can’t stop touching my hair because it’s so SOFT :) hahahaha
Do you guys feel aloe Vera feels like dry gel on your hair once it dries? And don't you get those aloe flakes? Or the fact you follow it with shea butter or oil diminishes this effect of its gel. I mean I know it is a gel indeed.
Khadija Omer you should try the aloe Vera juice as opposed to the aloe Vera gel. The gel gives me flakes but the juice never does.
Hello you are truly teaching me how to take care of my hair. 68 years old...thank you.
Sta-sof-fro by Softsheen Carson. I have low porosity hair. Then castor oil to seal. Works like a charm for me for softness and manageability for years!
My favorite moisturizer is a combo of Rose Water, Aloe Vera Juice, and Melanin Leave in or sometimes I'll use As I AM leave in if I can't get Melanin.

I stopped spraying water on my hair as it caused me to experience hydral fatigue and was drying out my hair. I also do not use aloe vera, unless it's raw and in its muchilage state, otherwise my hair would dry out as well. I will try the PMPS method

Hair has a natural pH of 4.5 to 5.5.
im high porosity and i actually do a wash and go with aloe vera gel/juice, grease and a heavy twist cream. gets full 7 days of moisture
That's a good method! :-)

Great, informative video.. I’m high porosity so I like heavier, moisturizing creams. My absolute favorite products are by Qhemet Biologics.
I love this type of content. There is so much information about straight hair but I've seen only two UA-camrs proving this type of information ❤️

So can you talk about Jheri Curl gel and curl activators, and wash and go with curl activators and styling gel, please and thank you.
Careful. Most of those products have different ingredients than they did during the Jheri curl era when length retention was flourishing. The bottles may look the same but man manufacturers eliminated so called bad ingredients during the "grease/mineral oil is bad" phase.

1. Coconut oil
2. Liquid leave in Conditioner for that water!
3. Castor oil to seal (or that tcb oil to sit on the hair and seal in moisture)
Sweet was wondering why my hair was dry after I put in water and coconut oil!!
Do you make it fresh or buy it?
@@quitecontrary23 I buy it, The Fruit Of The Earth Aloe Vera Juice, it is so watery I just use it as is. I put it in a spray bottle and use it as my moisture. Thanks.
MeMe Flower thanks!!

Good question! I want to know that too. @Curly Chemistry. (Idk how to tag ppl on here, lol)
LazyGirl...the green tea mist...is that an actual product line? Thanks
snow40741 yeah it’s from TGIN (thank god it’s natural). I usually get it from Sally’s Beauty Supply
