      I've run 11.70 with 4.10 and a built 5.3L this was through the Mach-o-matic. steeda lower control arms and tokico adjustable shocks. shortie headers. pro chamber and mac exhaust . sub frame connectors and aluminum drive shaft. can you say "old school"?

    Had same issue hooking since I also have Steeda lowering springs. Went with Steeda adjustable upper control arms and UPR tubular k frame, Much better weight transfer but I believe a drag shock would be a big help

  • @gt-r_guy

    Finally an update. I think your launch issue is tire pressure. You need to take it down to 14 -18 psi according to M/T page.

    • @EGPerformance
      @EGPerformance  5 років тому

      We accounted for air pressure as well as i stated in some of the previous comments.

    • @gt-r_guy
      @gt-r_guy 5 років тому

      EG Performance what was the air pressure you are running then? A friend of mine on Mach 1 Registry is running the tire and his 60’ is a 1.7. He is running H&R super sports with stock shocks. He dead hooks every time and his only dynoed at 303hp. Trust me, play with air.

    • @EGPerformance
      @EGPerformance  5 років тому

      Derek Young we do “play with air” like i just said we already accounted for tire pressure so we are moving on to other possibilities

    • @gt-r_guy
      @gt-r_guy 5 років тому

      EG Performance I’m just trying to help but if you want to be ignorant. That’s all you. If it was suspension issues, you would have wheel hopped with the M/T. It doesn’t appear that you did so it’s a tire issue.

    • @chasewoods8029
      @chasewoods8029 5 років тому +1

      Derek Young he just said they messed with the tire pressure. Literally told you like 3 times. What don’t you understand? There is more to suspension than just wheel hop so before you start calling people who actually test and tune their car ignorant, why don’t you check what your saying first.

  • @crodrc51able

    Track looked slick. Try bias plys, not drag radials. Gears for the 4.6 Modulars should be a 4.10 for a naturally aspirated car. Don’t know what mods you have, but that car is definitely a hi 12 or better. I had a ‘03 Azure manual Mach. 4.10’s, Steeda subframe connectors, driveshaft, Eibach shocks struts and Pro Kit, uppers and lowers from UPR, X Pipe, no cats, Magnaflows, clutch, aluminum flywheel. CnL intake and tune. 310 and 324 to the wheels with the stock 3.55’s. 12.8’s on crap tires. Awesome cars, absolutely stunning in looks. But because they’re lackluster in torque, getting em out of the hole properly with a manual is a bit of fun.

    • @EGPerformance
      @EGPerformance  5 років тому

      crodrc51able the track was a little slick even down the track. I could feel the car get a little swirly way down the track forcing me to let off. Thank you for your comments!

    • @_____Justin______

      EG Performance slicks have a softer sidewall and will be easier to hook with and easier on your drivetrain. Also when you go to launch, hold the e-brake and slip the clutch a bit to preload the driveline so you don’t shock the axle and tires when you’re coming out of the hole

    • @EGPerformance
      @EGPerformance  5 років тому

      We are gonna go back to the track pretty soon. Make some adjustments and hopefully stick this time. We aren't trying to use skinnies or slicks at the moment but we aren't saying we will never do it. Just trying to use what we have at the moment. We are going to practice and focus on slipping the clutch.

  • @davidrudkevitch9844
    @davidrudkevitch9844 5 років тому

    Just curious what the ET's you where getting? I read some of the comments below. 1 of the things that made the Mach1 so much quicker was the set up from factory. 200lb rear and 600lb front rating on the springs. I went with 650lb fronts and a progressive 200/300lb on the rears. I agree with the upper and lower links for the rear end (I went with Whiteline product) and Pan hard bar is a great improvement. Mickey Thompsons are not the greatest. Toyo R888 or R888R is a great tire; they hook on street and track. Biggest improvement is a taller tire with those 373 gears. I will be running an 18inch, 303/35-R-18 Toyo. They are coming soon from tire rack. But with the stock 17 I found that I was topped out in 4th gear almost felt like hitting 5 th each time I was at the track. Good luck

    • @EGPerformance
      @EGPerformance  5 років тому

      Couldn't tell you just because of how inconsistent the launches were. I would have to disagree with you on the tires. Although the toyos are a really good track tire, they arent the best when you are strictly drag racing. I think you have a really good point about the springs. We are going to be consulting with someone here in town that lives and breaths mach 1’s.

    • @davidrudkevitch9844

      @@EGPerformance Ya your probably right on the Drag tires considereing MickeyT has been selling them for long time. Im also running 373 gears and with stock tire size i found i was flat out in 4th before the end of the quarter. Best time i ever scored was 12.89 that was not a hard launce but traction and not to much tire spin. Nailed the light so reaction time wasnt too much of a factor. Thats at our local drag strip Edmonton Alberta Canada area 2200ft
      elevation. Never been able to duplicate it mind you. Seem to be stuck in the really low 13s. We will see how these tires help. Can't wait.

    • @EGPerformance
      @EGPerformance  5 років тому

      David Rudkevitch yea i bet we both wish we were living somewhere with a lower elevation. Very interesting! Im glad yall are dragging up in Canada

    • @michaelharris748
      @michaelharris748 4 роки тому

      @@davidrudkevitch9844 just fyi reaction time has nothing to do with your et time it only matters if youre racing the man next to you if youre just trying to run a number you can wait 5 min then launch and the time would be the same. Just an fyi

    First of all beautiful car awesome sounding everything’s just right on that car! I own three Mach 1’s and two of mine are set up almost identical with the look. Are your tires aired down to 15 psi? That helps the most. Of course track prep is going to be a big issue, but I always had really good luck with upper and lower control arms, low PSI in the tires, and unhooking my front sway bar launching around 2-2500 rpm. The rear stock springs are the only ones he would need to swap back too if you wanted to try that

    • @EGPerformance
      @EGPerformance  5 років тому

      Justin Johnson Thank you very much! We did drop the psi but still no luck. I have been wanting to take off the front sway bar since i had great results doing so on my 5.0. Hopefully adding suspension and dropping weight in the front will do the trick.

    • @SvpremeReactz
      @SvpremeReactz 5 років тому

      331Grabber i just think it would be smarter in the long run to just get the terminator cause their blocks are know for around 800 capable horsepower (not that ill be making that much lol, looking for mid 500’s) and when u put a blower on a mach their probably just about at the limit then your looking at building the internals and all that correct?

      Yeah. I hear about 450 RWHP is the limit for the stock WAP aluminum block in the Mach 1. I have an old Teksid aluminum block in my shop for my Mach 1 if I decided to supercharge it. The Teksid can take a lot more power.
