I swear the first time I played against a robot it gave me brain damage. All my muscle memory was fried because I was used to starting combos off of hitting people, not hitting someone then being turned into mashed potatoes.
This is the exact reason I play robot. I feel like I should say though, we can get hard countered by cowboy due to speed differences, and he already talked about the problem with wizards, but ninja usually gets hard countered.

As someone who has played robot since day one: Always generic Grab when in range. Except that one time when you've hypnotized your opponent into throw breaking, then Bounds Check. Block+Fly is literally the greatest thing since sliced bread Finally, accelerate global warming by becoming an electromagnet at every moment possible. Combine with tip 1 for best results.
As a certified hustler, i can say with confidence that i have literally played against 2 robot online, and both of them forfeited after they lost the starting interaction. and also since no one asked, i am a cowboy main
They're lame then, if a robot gets wailed on for awhile and escapes with DI, they now have a ton of level to fuck you up with, probably dropping your health by half in one move
finally a character that can rival potemkin with the amount of grab options but i dont think theres ever been a character with more than 7 grab options
@@Jimmymacawooits getting nerfed next update to be more of a auto block/parry than just ignore everything. Tho in exchange he is gonna become way more mobile and some of his moves will ignore projectile knockback. Also he will be able to get a one time use super armor whenever he lands a kill process
Also, clutch basically beats everything at point blank and drift is your only projectile immune move while boost is a ground DH, so car mode is actually wonderful for getting in your opponent's face and winning neutral with. Just transition out of it asap once in combo
And arguably bounds check is kind of useless as it trades your combo for simply cornering and a throw's damage, of which you could do with a kick + propel-drive + 1 meter (boost hits OTG or you can inst-cancel your forward)
sadly all projectiles negate armor alongside grabs in fact because of armor all of robots moves are pretty slow because he can usually cheese an attack out but most projectile attacks are too slow to get out anyways so it doesn't really matter. essentially if you are against a robot run first thing then use a lot of projectiles if you are a robot dodge and block projectiles like you life depends on it.
i haev found out you can try catch or air grab some one over and over until u run out for advantage frames then u can grab them and fry your own brain as well as theirs i genuinely think robot was made to stop the mod uprising i have beaten some of the most broken mods with robot.
Stopped playing around the time this video came out, came back just a week ago and I’ve resumed maining robot. Landing 2 consecutive overflows is heroin. (Also I genuinely forgot magnet existed until I watched this again.)

let’s count the robot grabs , *inhale* grab, command grab, kill process, try catch, bounds check (at a stretch), ping (at a stretch) earthquake, and uh, yeah.

God robot one time got me to 1 hp lived for the next 6 minutes and dodged a laser beam form space but died soon after from fire
