True to the adage: When the student is ready, the teacher will appear . I am a newcomer to baking and needing to increase my knowledge base. There are so many books but with resources limited, it becomes a difficult to choose wisely. Wonderful resource. Thanks so much.

you cannot learn a trade from books and baking is a pure trade.
all the authors putting their names on books are pretty much fake wankers, there are very few professional grade books available, you can expect to pay several hundred dollars for one.
but if you buy them you still cannot learn to bake from them.
you're supposed to already know how to bake before reading them.

Many if not most of my followers aren’t professional pastry chefs! All of my recipes should be easy enough for non-professionals to replicate. Is their an aspect that you aren’t comfortable with that I could help you with?
