How many folks wish that we coulda froze 1972? Man, things were SO much better in the 70s. Kids today haven't a clue how different this nation was then. I mean sure--we had our problems, but it wasn't anything like the hill we keep slidin' down now. People, we are headin' for a precipice soon. I think that's why I watch these old videos so much...to remember how things used to be.
Amen bro. They also played using musical instruments made over 50 years ago. Imagine just how much worse today's musicians would sound if they performed on these instruments. They're bad enough with all their technological "improvements".
That was a rocking band man!!! Listen hall of fame people!! Put 'em in!! Put 'em in!! Put 'em in!! More number one hits than anyone else from 1969 to 1974!!! Put the great Three Dog Night in the Hall Of Fame nowwwwwwww!!!!!!
I'm kicking myself that I've only discovered him now. What a talent. I remember being really little and being drawn to him on tv but I lost track of them. What a voice, what energy, what commitment
Plus being very handsome, humble and an all-around good guy. I was 9/10 & crushing on Donny & Bobby & David in ‘72…but really appreciate what 3DN had to offer then, and now.👍🏻❤️
I harmonized with these guys thousands of times in my car, and I have to admit, we were all pretty good together! 😊😁 What memories this music brings back. And what a wonderful world it was compared to today.
This makes me sad for what we have lost. Innocent good times, no cell phones, no political constant hatred of each other. People wanting peace and everyone to love each other and enjoy life. I am so so sad for us now
There was political conflict back then, but it was expressed more in generational terms (youth vs parents) rather than in ideological terms (woke vs MAGA) as it is now.
Probably my favorite band in HS and college to dance and sing along. OMG, they were one of the best and we sang their songs with our kids during long car rides. I wish that I could’ve seen them in concert. 3DN lives on and keep’s thrilling with the beat.
Saw this original broadcast on ABC, along with the premiere episodes of The Brady Bunch and Alias Smith And Jones around the same time. Thank you Lord Almighty for such a privileged time to be a part of.
Corey, the kid from Dunkirk, NY made us proud with his talent and being a wonderful person. In 1969 I asked Roger Daltrey who his favorite band was and without hesitation he said "Three Dog Night !"
Harmonies were fabulous , Corey incredible voice , Chuck soulful high notes ; Danny ( Irishman ); Loved his energy. This is really genuine raw talent ; HOF - Please put TDN in 21 Top 40 Hits 3 - #1 ones ! Bravo Gentlemen 👍👏🏆
I had the pleasure of meeting and hanging out with Danny Hutton for a couple hours after a concert in 2022. He's a friend of my husband, who's also a musician. He is such a cool, funny and genuinely nice guy. 💗
Great to see you guys having fun backstage, being yourselves. Great & Priceless Memories and Nostalgia. Thanks, for all you've done, over the years. ❤ PS Thank you, Roberta Flack.
Wow what a band! And what a special. Thank God somebody had the foresight to preserve this unforgettable footage. The kick ass tune "Jam" at the end itself was worth watching! There is a reason I got all the Three Dog Night albums and singles...because they were that freakin' great!!
my sister bought the piano sheet music to Joy To the World - and I learned to play it before I ever heard it on the Radio ... 3 Dog Night is probably the most genuine musical entertainers I have ever witnessed ..
What a rare treat to find this gem from 1972! I really miss the good old days, and the great bands we grew up with! The music today doesn't hold a candle to the talented singers of this highly polished band! I grew up listening and loving this band's music! I wish Danny Hutton would contact Chuck Negron, and Mike Alsup, and do a tribute tour to Cory Wells, Joe Scheramie, Floyd Sneed, and Jimmy Greenspoon, before anyone else passes away in this legendary band. They belong in the rock and roll hall of fame!!
I grew up in the 50sand 60s and those were good years too..I started my family during the 70s when Three Dog Night was always playing on the radio then.I miss those days.
Never understand why they were never inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They were the best and I miss Corey. It's time for Danny to realize he needs one tour with Chuck then it's time to hang it up. The music will always play on for me.
I saw TDN early on and they were fantastic of course! Their opening act was a young lady named Linda Ronstadt. She came out in a leather halter top & loin cloth and she was fantastic too. Learned later of course that her band turned out to be an early incarnation/core of the Eagles.
Just so good! TDN .... i really think one of the best bands ever!.... Have seen them live off and on since '73 thru 2018... all the permutations... Just a fckln fantastic great rock and roll band... every single one of the Seven Separate Fools.... THE BEST!
Tell me about it Tennessee. I turned 10 years old that year and for years now I've told everyone that was my favorite summer for music and just plain life and love. The .music takes me RIGHT there like a time machine.
Watched the original broadcast. I remember being especially eager to watch since I had just seen the band a couple weeks before. The Dog could put on one hellava show. ✅️
Back in 1974 I had the chance to see them live, I really didnt want to go because I was into a different type of music {guitar blues} but I reluctantly went anyway... Boy let me tell you this group of musicians blew my mind and I am glad I got to see them.
In 1972, my boyfriend and I (husband now) traveled to Duluth Minnesota to see 3 dog night in concert. Does anyone know if this is the same concert? Thank you!
May of 1969, Salem, Oregon, TDN opened for Steppenwolf. TDN BLEW them off the stage. They were absolutely on fire. They opened with Heaven Is In Your Mind and closed with Try A Little Tenderness. Then Steppenwolf came on and they were terrible. Born To Be Wild sounded like The Pusher. Steppenwolf was high on drugs.
Just "one" of the many reasons why the Rock and Roll Hall of Shame, is just an insignificant building to buy lame merchandise. I am so glad they didn't build that joke in my home state of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia)

Yup
We must remember to live for today, yesterday is gone never to come back and tomorrow is not here , so live in the now. I do love this music as well.
@@jimnagel5611 no
I got quite a reply to my simple "yup". Lol
@@jimnagel5611 sometimes God places people in our path perhaps he will place her one day. Gods bless you.
No Autotune, no Beat Detective or click track, just real music, live as God intended.

The late great Corey Wells had an incredible voice
Absolutely he did 💕
I'm kicking myself that I've only discovered him now. What a talent. I remember being really little and being drawn to him on tv but I lost track of them. What a voice, what energy, what commitment
corey was a vocal bad azz
Plus being very handsome, humble and an all-around good guy. I was 9/10 & crushing on Donny & Bobby & David in ‘72…but really appreciate what 3DN had to offer then, and now.👍🏻❤️
He did an episode on the Beverly Hillbillies when Granny and Elie became hippies. He was the singer of the band.
Roberta Flack walks into the room and they all immediately stand up. What class and respect.
The very beautiful, in every way, Ms. Roberta Flack!!!

Alas, your comments brought tears to my eyes. Hang in there I will too. The refrain of Easy to be Hard maybe...
Amen to that.
I've been feeling that alot lately...here's to peace, love and enjoying life through these troubled times.
There was political conflict back then, but it was expressed more in generational terms (youth vs parents) rather than in ideological terms (woke vs MAGA) as it is now.
It brought tears to my eye's too. You summed it up so completely, and I'm not a pushover either. Didn't miss one thing that's on my mind these days.
It`s a Damn Shame and a Tragedy that this Awesome Group, did Not Make the Rockin Roll Hall of Fame, Something Very Wrong about that.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is for wankers.
Something very wrong bout that.....
I think part of the problem was that they didn't have any original songs. They were all cover songs. I still love them and agree they should be in.
Agree.
True testament to this band's talent- they sounded just as good live as their studio recordings. A force.
Agree.
Wow they all sound so great singing together! Brings tears to my eyes. Simpler times (at least in my life).
Probably my favorite band in HS and college to dance and sing along. OMG, they were one of the best and we sang their songs with our kids during long car rides. I wish that I could’ve seen them in concert. 3DN lives on and keep’s thrilling with the beat.

Wow. Three Dog Night and Roberta Flack.
Cory!!!! Notice how Roberta kissed him on the lips. He's so darn soulful and sexy. Miss you so much.
Yes, she gave him a different look, LOL. But she did NOT like the arm kiss from Danny
@@nmtgYeah, he went a bit over the top, but I still think he's handsome with those "Black Irish" looks.
I never knew this existed! Roberta and 3 Dog Night should have recorded an album together. Fantastic!
Roberta Flack sings so beautiful!! Love this video!

I saw them in '72, also. They packed the place and tore it apart. Great show. This was their best year. The band was at it's very best.

Almost reminded me of those special Andy Williams Christmas shows. Those wonderful friendships these guys/gals made.

昔、東京の武道館で3ドツグ・ナイトの公演を観た。次々にビッグヒットを連発する素晴らしいアメリカンバンドでした。
I loved the 70's
Corey wells here and terry Kath of Chicago both had amazing, extremely soulfoul, deep voices when performing. Such a pleasure to listen to.

Why are they not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
Because they ended put unrelated bands that are not even rocknroll.
I would go back in time for SURE😊😊
Saw the original group back in 1969 and 1970, Chucks voice was really something. Some of the best harmonies ever.
This was GREAT! Wish we would have been able to capture the love and respect they had for each other's Talent and spread it out to All the World.😘💕
Chuck always outshines the other two singers who are outstanding.
Roberta did not like the arm kissing. Thx for posting this. Loved seeing Where is the Love. I kind wish RF just had a duet with Cory on that one.
