My 1st concert was in Little Rock, AR. around 1970. 3 Dog Night and the backup band was the "Eagles" I had never heard of that band before. The ticket price was $5.00. I can still remember that both bands ROCKED!
Chuck is an awesome person!!! about five or six years ago my girlfriend and I went to a show at the Mohegan Sun in CT and watched Chuck do his show. We have seen him many times at that venue. She held up the book "Three Dog Nightmare" and he stopped the show and started crying! He called her up to the stage and signed the book for her! He is one unbelievable guy and performer! Love him and all of his music! Keep going Chuck! I still go up every hear to see him. He is a mainstay at Mohegan.
I recall seeing him on a country music show, YEARS AGO, talking about this. He talked about being homeless and losing everything, due to drug use, but he was currently getting clean, with God's help. The minute I heard him say that, I KNEW he was going to be OK...God works miracles, and this man honestly asked for one, and God delivered.
I have been sober from alcohol for 20yrs in 2018, but have struggled with prescription pain-killers for a few years now. Damn, that Satan's a tricky one and knows what fishing lures to use. Thanks Chuck Negron, and Mike Huckabee, for reminding people like me that Jesus Christ is STILL the MASTER FISHERMAN.
Happy for him. I still wonder why the other two members did not welcome him back after the drug issues? I think a missed opportunity for all concerned including fans. No matter how good they are individually they were still better together and should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Drugs and alcohol killed my grandfather in 1966. An Army vet and talented chef... gone 2 days before his 36th birthday. If you're thinking about doing drugs... don't. If you're on drugs, please get help. All I have left of my grandfather is his burial flag. I've never used drugs because I thought about my grandfather and what happened to him. Chuck is still a great and talented singer. His message needs to heard out here on Long Island.
Sorry about your Grandpa. I did the usual gateway stuff that so many kids did in HS; fortunately I found a couple good role models that convinced me to stop - in the music industry oddly enough. One was Frank Zappa - he always poked fun at hippies and the idea of using drugs. The other was Gil Scott Heron. Many of his songs had an underlying message of hope and transformation. The obvious song was "Angel Dust." It was so sad to learn years later that Gil had fallen to the vice that he preached against. His writing really boosted my will power back then.
My only brother died from a addiction... thank you for paying it forward Chuck, you're a hero in my eyes. Thank you for pulling yourself out of addiction and sharing your gifts, you are so gifted. Thank you for Three Dog Night, and for taking the high road.
I remember a long time ago when I first heard the song Easy to be Hard and how it deeply touched me. God bless Chuck Negron and may he continue to be a spoke person for God, what a wonderful uplifting story. Thank you Mr Huckabee for having him on, you have the greatest guests!!
“Drugs take Everything!” That’s an understatement! They’ll possess you. Horrible. I hope my son listens to this and finds this man’s story a way out of the insanity!
Even when a person is out of that life, there are terrible consequences, such as lifetime damage to the brain. My brother was fully embroiled in the drug lifestyle, in the late 60's and 70's. He lived and breathed drugs. He got sober many years ago, but it's hard to have a conversation with him, because of the damage. He's very combative and paranoid. He thinks everyone is on drugs. He's a very angry man. What a shame, too, because he had everything to live for, but the drugs took it all away. I hope your son comes through this like Chuck did.
Jaime, high dose grams of lyposomal C will take away most of the horrible withdrawal symptoms. Liquid amino acids will help the body repair. It's a miracle!! Never give up! Never. Google it NOW. Talk to your child without being judgemental and ask him if he'll try it.
I got to see Three Dog Night in 1987 when I was 18. Cory and Danny were there, but no Chuck. Years later I discovered why, and Im so happy for him that he came through to the other side. I can imagine it was hell.
Wow! I really like your show! Chuck Negron from the Three Dog Night! Such an uplifting message! May God's love and mercy unite us all! Thank you for putting this show together! This channel is such a breath of fresh and inspiring air with all the fake news and lies that are dumped on us daily! Thank you, Mr. Huckabee! May God bless you and your family! May God bless the USA! Let's all together ... MAGA! :)
You know sometimes you wonder where the roads in our lives lead us to the events that, at the time you never dreamed in a million years you would be where at, Joy to the World was on the radio when I was about 6 in a little small town in central Louisiana where only Cajun music was playing on popular radio stations my brothers and sisters and I crammed in a station wagon singing this song on our way to visit our grandmother in Mississippi, 30 years later, I’m shaking hands with Chuck after a little concert that Three Dog Night did in Hattiesburg, MS. Just thinking back from that moment in time at six I remember wanting to be where they were and sing with them and then in 99 I had smile from ear to ear thinking, wow, “here I am”! singing with them it was great!
My Brother killed himself because of depression and drugs and it takes part of your life with it.He was my little brother, and would of been 57 and he died at 39 in 1999. And It's something family can hardly ever face it still hurts so much, please ppl get help if you have depression and if you are turning to drinking or drugs, it only makes life hell, and its up to you out of love for your family and seeing how much they love you ,your friends yourself to see yourself as important as you realy are. You might be everything to someone. If you aren't here part of that persons life dies to .
Yes, they need to make Suboxone much more easier to get. They should be handing it out to anyone that wants it. Heroine is destroying families and killing kids everywhere.
can't sing those high notes like he used to however,,,no he can not and THAT is what drugs and alcohol can do to you I KNOW IT FOR SURE....and it's been now, 32 years sober and 26 years without smoking or drugging.....and still can't do the "Falsetto" I used to do with ease. SO at 75 years old now, we do the best we can ehhhhhhhhh!!!!! Carry on THREE DOG NIGHT
I saw him in the summer, it's sad. He couldn't remember the words and couldn't hit the notes. I loved this man and still do. Just sad to see him struggle.
if you want to hear the most thorough & definitive interview of Chuck Negron's experience throughout music, fame, addiction, & life - check out the interview he did with Mark Thompson on The Edge : ua-cam.com/video/Fj82JBNZDRY/v-deo.html
My brother is an addict, I wish he wasn't....... born. I wish I could forgive him. But any care I once had is replaced with resentment or at best ambivalence. I am glad some can recover and find the lord. But I don't care whether they do or not, it is between them and the Lord and those they have trashed along the way. I don't see courage, I see desperation, earned desperation. And I have no sympathy left to feel. So for those that overcome addiction congratulations for not flushing your life down the sewer and trying to destroy every decent thing along the way and trying to drag every person in your life that cares about you, down with you. You can ask Jesus for forgiveness, I have none. I know you.
doliverelliott For a Christian, you don't show much forgiveness. You sound like the judge, jury and executioner. Maybe YOU are the one that needs to seek out the help of your lord. You are not much of a Christian with your screwed up beliefs. Your brother doesn't want your sympathy......he wants your help, you idiot.
What a testimonial. I'm 62 and Three Dog Night has always been one of my favorite bands. Too bad that they could not reunite before Corey passed.
For being over 70+ years, Chuck still gots it.
I am so happy Chuck is still alive..He is one of Americas most recognizable singing voices...The Three Dog Night were a hit factory in the 70's...
He is so awesome. He fought his addiction and finally won. He's still the greatest singer. Love him.
God took my Addiction away ! 26 yrs Sober here too !
I presume that you believe that it was some entity named Lucifer or Satan that got you addicted.
Thank God and God bless you, brother!!!
James Burdzinski God bless you
Drugs are a scourge to all mankind.
I'm in love

What a story! So sad that he couldn't work things out with Danny and Corey while Corey was alive. Would have been an incredible reunion.
Love Chuck - what a humble soul who turned his life around. Praise God.
I love chuck so much! He overcame so much and he is so giftedly talented! Glad he is still with us...
What a wonderful testimony. One of my favorite groups.

Lyposomal C and liquid amino acids. Do it. Grams and grams of lyposomal C. No withdrawals! Go up be so so surprised.
Looking and sounding amazing at 75, Mr. Chuck!!

Wow, not a lot of men can sing that well at that age.
I missed this first show...five months later I'm now seeing it on UA-cam!!
He looks fantastic ❣️
3 Dog Night, is the best rock band in the world! Ever! In time! Always! We miss, Cory Wells! Cheers, Danny Hutton! 🎸🎶🍺

I read the book & it told me there is always hope for the drug nightmare. Nephew is 3x and is still addicted. Hope.
He looks great!!!

Looks remarkably good for being 75 and a former addict!!!
What a great interview!
Great first show. This is a great testimony. God Bless
Im clean off the oxi pills, suboxone got me off . Thank God !!!
Yes, they need to make Suboxone much more easier to get. They should be handing it out to anyone that wants it. Heroine is destroying families and killing kids everywhere.
God Bless you, James! God Bless you, Chuck, Your Amazing!
I went to the Happy together tour in New Brunswick N.J. I have not seen anyone that hot in 20 years and I'm only 50. Never saw you before baby
Just a note of trivia: Harry Nilsson wrote that song. Look it up, it's interesting. He had the voice of an angel.
Nilsson Schmilsson...10 songs, sounds like 10 different singers.
But chuck ran with it.
@@tmee1512 One of the BEST LPs ever made.
I'm in love
Check is amazing. Wow. I’m glad he is doing well now.
Still battling drinking issues , but I’ll win the fight
AMEN!..Awesome! Heath issues and all .........Strong with God!

Fan of chuck
nice, really nice, that Chuck is better! Describes the Horror of Addiction.
Ironic that Cory and Danny is not there to add their beautiful back up Voices. How Sad.
Thanks for this new channel! Thanks Mr. Huckabee!
O.m.G. goodtime gd. Bless mrs. Chuck negron
I saw him in the summer, it's sad. He couldn't remember the words and couldn't hit the notes. I loved this man and still do. Just sad to see him struggle.

I would love to find the audiobook.

Is that the original drummer from 3DN also??
He is old.... now so he is trying to make is right befor he sees the light....
HE'S RIGHT.
Regardless Chuck Negron was my favorite 3 Dog Night I respected the other 2 tho!
Thoughts and prayers for this show staying on air.
I'D LOVE TO KNOW WHAT MIKE ALLSUP THINKS ABOUT THIS.
its to be hard
Chuck's a great guy... what's on his glasses on both sides of his nose?
He has oxygen tubes fitted to them - I think he calls them his Oxy-specs Read his book "Three Dog Nightmare" great read!
Portable Oxygen delivered discretely via his glasses.......You can see him struggle breathing through his nose after the song from his COPD.
I thought it was the reflection of the lights but then looked again and I think it is oxygen tubes.
Chris Johnson Chuck wears Oxygen Therapy eyeglasses for his COPD, rather than use the typical cannula that goes in the nose.
He's actually connected to an oxygen tank offstage due to lung disease.
My brother is an addict, I wish he wasn't....... born.
I wish I could forgive him.
But any care I once had is replaced with resentment or at best ambivalence.
I am glad some can recover and find the lord.

Why is chuckle so jittery???
74 years old
Mama told me not to come.
It sure dont look like Chuck, but if that's really him, wow !!
6 years today
Chuck is Awesome. Huck? Not so much.
The song in this version would not have been a pop hit.
Does he have Oxygen tubes going to his nose?
MarvelDcImage yes
Huckabee? Lolol
This was great but Huckabee you gotta get a tailor. C'mon you can afford it. Stop buying off the shelf suits dude!
Chuck has lost much of his voice. He used to be incredible. I still think Cory Wells had a more pleasing voice.
I always favored Chuck's voice; but he pushed it hard back in the day. Especially that song "Tenderness."
I did enjoy this video and Mike Huckabee seems like such a nice guy. But his daughter Sarah doing Trumps dirty work just astounds me, don't get it.
Kelsey Braun
Sarah and her dad are both a couple of ass kissers......Trumps ass, to be precise.
