    Excellent job! Multiple people on a crew is definitely beneficial, especially when they know what they are doing. Strong back, weak mind is good for demolition, but construction demands a strong mind to work with the strong back. You have that with these guys!

    I'm in Oregon and once I saw ALL that dust, I had to pause the video, and run down to the shop to get a dust mask to continue watching the rest of the video....nice job.

    You need to be very careful when you attach the bottom chord of trusses to a plate. When the truss takes a load (like snow) it lifts up as it goes in tension and can pick the wall up with it. You need to use a connection device (they make them) that will allow the chord to go up but that restrains side to side movement.

    What you call rat runs in the Midwest and Missouri stiff back or hogbacks plus we put a 2×6 vertically along the long of two-by-four

    The bottom chord of your trusses needs to be able to flex up and down, depending on the wind rating in your area how necessary it is to secure centre of the bottom chord at all
    Run battens long the top of the bottom chords and block either side of the bottom chord on the bearer and remove the screws you put it
    This will allow it to flex like it needs to but not rack

    Oh man, I feel that plywood demo, just removed 1000sqft in that same manner from a remodel we are doing. Those flooring sheets will be used as roof sheeting as needed

      It was definitely worth removing the nails and reusing it, saved probably $1,000 easily.

      @@craftedworkshop we stacked about 4K in lumber between studs, subfloor ply which will be used on the roof, and 2x10 joists. Just crazy

    Looking great! Did you end up eliminating the opening in the 2nd floor where you were going to install a future man made elevator?

      We did, those were the "trap doors" as I called them. I decided having the floor insulated was a better idea, plus we got the back doors to the attic operational so we have another way of getting material up there.

    I surmise there are no building inspectors in Ashe County for this thing to be built in the first place. You should rename your "workshop" to your "work shanty".

    4:10 - Engineer says structure will fall if XYZ not done... Roof not even connected to girders and still standing after 50 years.

      you might ask him about connecting the trusses to that girder. they are supposed to be free floating over walls, but you should have a 2x4 across them to keep their spacing proper.

    Looks like Eric is the only one that was going to breathe the next day. That's a lot of dust to not wear a mask.

      We all ended up wearing masks on and off throughout the day. Unfortunately, it's next to impossible to communicate with respirators on and tools being used, so it was kind of a trade off.

      We mixed it up depending if we needed to pull pieces together. Also, I think we only had two nailers on hand but everyone had impact drivers.
