Marlin 45-70SBL? Great video mate, thanks for sharing it. Haven't blooded my 45-70 yet, property I got access is heavy in undergrowth so the pigs have an excellent chance of getting away. Like that rest you have on the bike, any video that shows how you made it/fit it etc?
Thanks Mick - well them pigs wont be traveling to far any more then. If you can shoot this calibre well its right up there at the top in stopping power.
I've been impressed with mine so far but got onto a nice Sambar and it was so close I shot over the bastard! Beaut rifle to shoot though, far less kick than I would have thought and just impressed with the finish. I thought it was a 45-70 from your video, when you started picking up the spent shells it confirmed it!! I need to start reloads, me thinks. I've been impressed with its range also...shot a target at 163 yrds a little while back and wouldn't have thought with the ring sight it would come close but there ya go.
Yeah you noticed I didn't leave $3.00 laying on the ground . You wont look back after you start handloading some of the cheaper factory loads are a bit anemic and the quality loads are expensive . I've got a 1-4 power scope on mine Its brilliant my eyes are to old to use those factory ring sights but it is surprising how accurate that big old slug is. cheers
Thanks Bob I'm hearing you. I have always said If you need music in your hunting videos the content doesn't have enough action or isn't good or interesting enough. Cheers
Thanks Scott. It's easy to see that we have been playing this tag team for quite a while we might be old but not stupid -- well smarter than most of the pigs anyway ???. cheers
great communication with your team, I rarely see that happening elsewhere on other channels. As always enjoy watching your videos. I am now waiting for my cousin to get his licence and a safe as I don't want to lock my gun at a range..so waiting my licence out.
+2gud4umenglez Thanks man was a lot harder before we got our microphone headsets you don"t get to hear the guys talking to me though great knowing where they are and what they are doing. Good luck with that licence cheers
I hunted off bikes as a young man, loved it, the hunt. I really liked the fresh air, makes me envious. I certainly hope you went back out over dark and hunted foxes and pigs that got on those 'drag lines'. Spotlighting off a trail bike when I was younger was fraught with problems of batteries and tiny alt/gen capacity. These days of LED's it would be easy. Good luck.
Thanks Floot you understand the Adrenalin caused with this type of hunting . I have a 2300 cc road bike but i much prefer my 200 cc farm bike cruising slowly down a dusty paddock carrying a firearm. Tried the spotlight on the bike at night and you are correct (fraught with problems) - danger - being one of them . Much prefer the 4x4 these days we usually drag the bodies close to a track and space them out over a big area we sometimes drag one behind us we get a lot of foxes that way on the return trip. Cheers
gear drop semi auto if you're on a vehicle because one hand for steering and one for shooting, whereas lever action would be good for if you have to people on like a four wheeler and you're on the back
Semi autos are not an option for us here in Australia anymore the Government confiscated them and crushed them under threat of jail in 1995.Mini 14 was awesome back then but we have had to compromise I now prefer my 45-70 lever gun (7 shots) its brutal on pigs where I hunt now. lucky I can cope with the recoil well.I tend to use my bolt and pump guns where shots are out past 120 metres.
Good shooting ladds, looking forward to my next shoot.lolbought a new tikka 223 more than 2 years ago now and still havent been able to get out and nail something.feral cats are my favorite to nail.
Thanks Troy . You were pretty close with central QLD 20 km south of Mungindi it all looks similar out there.your letting the team down not blooding that fine Tikka rifle though I have one in 222 fantastic gun for rabbits foxes and cats. Hopefully Ill bag a few next week going out for 10 days. Cheers
I know you do been watching and enjoying your videos for years you really know how to clean up on those bunnies and red coats as well . I would recommend that you invest in a shooting rest for your bike though I had the same technique as you for more than 20 years after i put the shooting rest on I doubled my hit rate and it improved my speed . Looking forward to your next vid Cheers
Yes promod114 way cheaper. Had a 223 mini 14 with a 35 round mag- 20 years ago that worked really well but now i've had to make up the loss of fire power with a bigger calibre . Shooting from the bike you only ever get rear end shots so you need something with real knock down stopping power so I rarely have to shoot the same pig twice.
Hi Joseph Green tips are not available in Australia. Have tried military ball ammo and they just zip right through everything and we had to shoot everything several times to stop them, We use large calibre soft points bullets in all of our rifles.
Hi Tom . I do know some people that do eat them but i believe they are taking a risk with the prevalent use of 10-80 poison by farmers pigs also carry some disease such as Brucellosis - Hydatidosis-Facioliasis just to name a few and if you can still deal with that there is the fact that most feral pigs main source of protein is carrion namely the multitude of dead kangaroos these beasts absolutely reek sometimes you also must consume it while you are hunting as the government has made it illegal to transport wild pig meat without a licence. Luckily our feral deer population is quite free of disease we can shoot and transport as much meat as you like but only for your own personal consumption. Cheers
Government has made it illegal to eat or even transport pig meat unless you have the proper licence and handling facilities . After shooting plenty of these critters and seeing what they eat mainly long dead maggot riddled worm infested Kangaroos not to many people take a chance with a bacon sandwich a shame they look so good but smell really bad sometimes.
well I cant blame ya for not eating them lol. No kangaroos for them to eat on in texas where I hunted them lol. I dream someday to hunt them out of a helicopter...fun way to put a dent on the population and burn up some ammo lol
You right Rodney it can be a bit hard to watch at times. I've tried mounting it just about everywhere fixed to vehicle - on my chest - on the gun was terrible but you see exactly what I see looking down the sights I try to concentrate on moving my head slowly. Camera is a Contour +2- I could reset the lens angle from 120 degrees to 170 degrees like a Gopro which would smooth it out but you get that fish eye view and everything looks far away. Thanks for the feed back I'll try to slow down my head movement and cut that peak off my hat as well. Cheers
well just to say I am not trying to be the asses that criticizes your videos but I am probably some of the few that get really nauseous when I watch it like that. I truly love watching you guys shooting the hell out of thoese no good ground destroyers. thank you for responding
Saw your first video a couple of years ago bout time you added to it. looks really flat and open where you are hunting we hardly ever have the time for a long chase at collarenibri if we cant shoot straight away we never see them again and the boys are very competitive on how many pigs we each knock over. Tumbarumba is nice I take my dirt bike hunting down close to there at Tooma twice a year its beautiful country we are so luck here in OZ.
Yes it is Wayde and the best hunting bike I've had. Over the years I have had many bigger and faster with better suspension but when your cruising in the scrub for 7 hours a day you want a farm bike. cheers
It's refreshing to see shooting/culling without all the yahoo and selfies. Good luck with further eradication.
Thanks Grant appreciate your comment

Thanks Mike, appreciate your info and taking the time to reply.
Fantastic! And no stupid music. I wish I had been an Aussie. Pigs and feral cats.
Thanks Bob I'm hearing you. I have always said If you need music in your hunting videos the content doesn't have enough action or isn't good or interesting enough. Cheers
Great vid! Nice team work on cleaning them up.
Thanks Scott. It's easy to see that we have been playing this tag team for quite a while we might be old but not stupid -- well smarter than most of the pigs anyway ???. cheers
nice shooting..looks like too much fun, and very effective means of feral control👍🐷🔫
Thankyou Mr Mushroom
Great teamwork, and it sure looks like tremendous fun to hunt on bikes along with friends.
When you combine Bikes -Guns and Hunting together its hard to beat.

do you like the lever action in particular over a bolt or a semiauto?
gear drop semi auto if you're on a vehicle because one hand for steering and one for shooting, whereas lever action would be good for if you have to people on like a four wheeler and you're on the back

This is absolutely badass, excellent job.
Thanks Caleb Teamwork is the Key - Cheers
Nice shooting! Just hope you don't leave any lying there wounded.
Thanks - westmeathguy - My brother always douse the sweeping up duties straight away, He's also the sweeper on the dinner leftovers (as you can see)
westmeathguy they're only wounded till they die
Where was this at mate.central qld ?

In regards to your comment. When you get them all ... yer ridin' days are over! LOL!
^..^~~
Never thought of it that way before recklesswhisper . May have to rethink that comment. Cheers
Great shooting mate
You neeed a bigger knife, AND A BLOODY BETTER HAT, missing half the action as the camera can't see around corners
Fun times, love hunting them on a two wheeler
I know you do been watching and enjoying your videos for years you really know how to clean up on those bunnies and red coats as well . I would recommend that you invest in a shooting rest for your bike though I had the same technique as you for more than 20 years after i put the shooting rest on I doubled my hit rate and it improved my speed . mrbikehunter Ta mate. I noticed your rest, looks like a good idea!
I love my 45-70. Wouldn't a .223 be more cost effective? It would be boring but cheaper.
I was just watched another video they had assault rifle and couldn't hit the pigs you guys did so good with bolt action
To tell you the truth Bj I've improved my shooting since the government destroyed my semi auto - I have to make every shot count now. cheers
its a lever action not bolt action
ISIS would not eat them..They are not that stupid.
Carry a pistol with you, recommend .40 S&W or even a 9mm to put them down. Saves on that .40-70 and is much cleaner.
truth be getting told
Not allowed here.
good job!
Have you ever used green tips on them
Hi Joseph Green tips are not available in Australia. Have tried military ball ammo and they just zip right through everything and we had to shoot everything several times to stop them, We use large calibre soft points bullets in all of our rifles.
Nice one boys
Are these animals edible and if so can you take them to homeless shelters and stuff like that
Oh, and the homeless are about 2,000 km from here.
(01:57) What are those critters?
lol whitch ones
there little spotted piglets
piglets i geuss
"Don't get too close, otherwise they'll..." Didn't finish the sentence. Otherwise what?
Otherwise they will split up and go in all different directions. Thank you Phormynx I've wanted to finish that sentence for ages.
That's the same bike my dad has is a 200cc
Where about's were you hunting these pigs?
Collarenibri - NSW a 148 square kilometer property most of is like what is in the video with a fair chunk of flood plain (when it rains)
Do you guys eat any of these pigs? I didn't know if they taste any different than the ones in Texas I have shot lol. Great video!!
I kinda figured pork is pork lol
Government has made it illegal to eat or even transport pig meat unless you have the proper licence and handling facilities . man wish you would mount that go pro someware else. you need to watch your own video and you will see why.
