Zelda Lore, I think this is a mighty fine piece of work. It was quite captivating, well organized and well delivered. I enjoyed it immensely and watch every minute. Zeltik: Your work is always top notch. Besides a bit of jealousy I have of you for making a living playing, analyzing and discussing Zelda games (I know it's a lot of work, too...I'm 35, I have a career, I'm not naive), I have a ton of respect for your talents and perspectives (and that voice...it puts me to sleep [in a good way...I wish I could have a "soft British accent" switch when I read my daughter her bedtime stories]...but I digress...). Great work, guys...now I'm gonna hop back on Age of Calamity because I think my Switch has been on the charger long enough.

I just realized that the tremors of death mountain in the memory could have something to do with Tears of the Kingdom as shown in the background of the trailer

Link is always part of the bloodline of the Knight's of Hyrule, according to a Link to the Past. His name is simply because he is the "Link" between the player and the game.
Its intentional. Its Environmental Storytelling, something which games such as Dark Souls and even Hollow Knight have done exceptionally well, and so has breath of the Wild. Would I have enjoyed it more if its story was more in the vein of Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword in regards to how their stories were told? ABSOLUTELY! But I love how BOTW lets you find out the story by yourself. I do, however, want to see these events play out as cinematics, a full movie in the Breath of the Wild artstyle with the same voice actors would be perfect.
@@ZeldaLore I mean, yeah, it's definitely intended to be that way, it just feels too detached for me personally, and never felt like a Zelda story. Maybe I'll be more into the sequel's story if it's more directly experienced in the present rather than the past.

i’m not sure if this has been explained in game or not cause i’ve never played botw, just watched videos, but is rhoam the biological child of the royal family? or is zeldas mom? i’m curious because if zeldas mom isn’t related to the royal family by blood wouldn’t she not have the sealing magic that zelda has? and if rhoams the biological son and not zeldas mom, why is zeldas mom her teacher and not rhoam?this is such a random thing but i genuinely think about this a lot😂😂
It's most likely Zelda's mother, mainly due to her and her mother (Zelda's Grandmother) having possessed the sealing power, which is passed down from generation to generation within the Royal Family's bloodline, aka, the bloodline of Goddess Hylia

Amazing video! I've kind of forgotten my initial thoughts on the story of BotW so having it reexplained to me from someone else's perspective kind of gives me a fresh look. And I have to say that, BotW definitely has a different vibe and what feels like almost completely different characters from age of calamity. It was a good game but it definitely feels more designed to be a fun time rather than being that faithful to how BotW was written. The characters just seem angrier at each other in BotW, I don't remember one time Zelda said anything negative about Link in age of calamity. Kind of interesting.

Breath of the Wild has a unique and grand story, it's just very fragmented and conveyed poorly because of the huge focus on gameplay. It's a shame.
