Solo grandes maestros de la musica tejana,,saludos del fan numero 1 de la musica tejana en el estado de guanajuato mx,saludos desde pueblo nuevo gto mx,
Gosh, how I wish you would do more of these rehearsals to see the legends and the musicians interacting with each other and capturing all the nuances. To see their surroundings. Things that no amount of words or stories could ever capture. To see everyone in their true humanity. Please do us a great favor and do more. This is what was never captured and forever lost in the magnificent groups of yesteryear.
First off I'm not a very good muscian , but as a begining Bass player I helped out Henry and the Glares for around a year or so. We once opened the dance at the Old Mcallen Civic Center for Fredie Martinez and Ramon Ayala this was after Cornelio parted ways.
@@gradyhernandez4699 I love all kinds of music, Norteno, Tejano, South Texas Conjunto, Blues, Rock, Pop, Rockabilly, Country etc... I grew up in Mcallen Texas and played bass for a couple of years with Henry and the Glares in the Rio Grand Valley. We opened up for Freddie and Ramon Ayala at the old Mcallen Civic Center. My point is this- all the Spanish Music in Texas is inter--related. I am not a music snob!. Music is made up of 7 notes not counting the flat and sharps.. Our music was borrowed from the Europeans that lived in Mexico and South Texas. The Mexican people and Tejanos gave it their own flavor. There is no such thing as 100% Norteno. or 100% anything. Hopefully you will research our music and expand your horizens so that we both can pass it on to the younger generations.
@gradyhern you are obviously young and and unaware that these guys all speak Spanish. I don't get your comments. Freddie, Guti, Sunny and many others were singing and playing the early Doo Wop and Rock and Roll of the 50, and 60,s but returned to thier roots. Their parents probably immigrated from Mexico. They probably spoke both English and Spanish at home . Also Sunny was the first Latino artist to appear on Dick Clarks American Band Stand iin 1963.
@@konjunto2477 I'm not referring to the legends about learning Spanish. It was a response to some English only person comment. I'm 70 years old FYI dude .I have seen sunny agustine joe bravo Roy montelongo los dinos Rick and the Romans rocky gil little Joe Jay Perez Jimmie G. Y muchos mas this area Texas and others were all mexico so my family was already here since then. The greedy anglos dreamed up " the borders'
@@gradyhernandez4699 Sorry for the misinterpretation my friend. i also will be 70 in a few months. I played on the same stages with Ramon Ayala, Freddie, Agustine, Carlos Guzman, Agapitpo Zuniga, Lenny and Su lucky Six. My cousin is Wally Gonzalez the short legged Texan. lol oh and Rick Gonzalez y Grupo Pezado Texas is also my cousin . I helped get him started on the bass guitar then he went on to play with Carlos Moreno and the Saneds. Not sure which comment you are referring to, but as a human race we need to let go of the hate. I understand that we are living in unprecedented times. Not all gringos as you say are greedy. All ( most) civilizations were conquered at one time or another. also look at the Hispanic politicians in our city, state and federal government. they are no different ( generally speaking) than any other group. they are out for themselves. $$$$$$. I have witnessed discrimination and racisim from all ethncities. Mexicans coming over now want our milk and honey but they call me a racist because i was born in Texas. ignorance is a disease. Oh and i have been happily married to a Gringa for 49 years and she is not greedy. Also what gives us the right to tell someone else what they should learn! we can suggest , encourage but we can't dictate our opinions or beliefs. there are enough people in Congress and around the country trying to do just that.

@@konjunto2477 Ramon Ayala is NOT Tejano music chief..he's 100% norteno.

Their missing the Horn Section I love the organ but their music needs the horns because that’s their style
Agustin said tejano music should be played with horns. Dish the accordion..
The new born bands in tejano need to learn from the pros in this video

They need to learn Spanish like we had to learn English
Love these Texan singer's! Why should they learn "Spanish"!! You want "Spanish" then listen to "Mexican Music"!!
