Another great video, surprised you have to release the bolts 3 times in the stretching. You would think it would give stiction errors - but there you go, I’ve learned something again. Thanks.

Yss it is a strange way to get the torque setting correct, however this is the way bmw motorsport engineers designed it so I'm sure there's some method to the madness! This is why I prefer using aftermarket ARP rod bolts. They are easier to torque, and from the research I have done, there are many people suggesting they are more uniform in preventing ovality of the con rod bore.

Do you need to alternate between counter-torquing and torquing each screw three times, or do you torque each screw three times and then consider the task complete?

Hello, very good friend, the video. I want to ask you a technical question. a month ago I bought a M3 E92 manual transmission year 2009 it has a slight vibration when I accelerate it stopped in neutral between 1200 and 1500 RPM. It feels like the engine is out of balance, is that normal? do you know what the problem would be?

just curious why didnt you get arp studs and just did the easier 50 pounds of torque method as opposed the ones you did in the video? did you use oem bolts

From memory it was due to covid just starting when this was filmed, and Western Australia being difficult to get parts, the customer didn't want to wait an unknown time to get the ARP bolts. I always suggest them however.

Question, why did the plenum have to be removed for this?

I support the engines from above with a bar going across the engine bay. The plenum is covering the hook points.

You are experts only on bmw or AMG ? I think MB is easy for you. Because you work with very complicated engines with bmw so AMG is easy for you.
