As gentrification takes over and more people with money move into the city. I believe they would be the ones to pay the higher fares, and as a result, could potentially close the so called budget deficit the city claims to have. I'm optimistic on where these plans are heading. Because SEPTA as a hole needs a major overhaul to be one of the best public transit systems in the country. Sometimes we need to get through the bad to get to the good. 😉

Philly brings in the most tax money to the state, yet doesn't get enough of it back to maintain its infrastructure. In my opinion its due to long term racism as the rural lawmakers view Philly as poor black people especially the ones who ride public transit. If you are white person in Philly you can just drive like a real person. Regional rail only comes every hour or every 2 hours on weekends or I'd take it a lot more often to get down town.
