FRM is a niche credential. CFA is general finance quasi qualification. There's no point comparing them. Neither of these credential alone gives full value in job market. CFA is really a great value for CA/CMA/MBA. Similarly FRM is a great value addon for CFA/CA/CMA/MBA. However CFA won't give you entry in IB if you aren't IIM MBA/CA rankholder in India. However ordinary MBA finance/CA + FRM can get into Banks risk management opening. Hence for avg folks FRM is more beneficial. CFA is comparatively much easier. We Indians find it difficult because of our higher education system. Most of candidates here are either MBA/CA passouts or students. However in USA most of candidates are MS/Msc - finance/financial economics/ fin engg candidates. These are focussed on finance providing indepth knowledge in broad areas of finance. Against this CA is an accounting/ tax focused course. MBA is a generalized management course and even in finance electives with large no of subjects packed into tight trimester/ semester schedules students don't get to gain indepth knowledge. Also focus is more towards soft skills. Now coming to FRM it's still not that tough course. The real problem is commerce people haven't studied maths or mathematical statistics at graduate level. Now wienner process is ordinary for Science/engg graduates but a new concept for Commerce people as they study BS pricing model. Similarly all stats utilized is actually BStats 1st year level. For non commerce graduates they are not comfortable with finance concepts. Actually Btech/Bstats/Bsc-pcm + CFA should find FRM easy. Even commerce graduates of they rush up +2 maths & study mathematical stats books before moving to FRM will transform their learning.
Hie Murrad, I have completed my Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, is there any way for me to pursue Masters in Finance in a good UK (United Kingdom) University?? Thanks
Sir I'm a type of non commerce student and i would like to go with CFA, so could you suggest me best online tution which they can teach me CFA in most easiest or simple way so i could clear all three level
Currently iam pursuing MBA in finance, and interested in CFA Just I want to know what is the correct age for starting CFA? Atleast howmuch time it will take?
But it's not possible to properly give weightage to both the courses, and iam already in sem3 of mba, so is it worthwhile to start after MBA? And minimum how many months are required for passing level1 of CFA for an average and above average Student as per your expertise?
complete your Mba first. - Because as you say you are in 3rd semester of Mba ( Try to maintain a CGPA of around 7 to 8 ) - focus on placement - Grab a job then start preparing for CFA - Most people do CFA along with Job so don't be scared The job helps you to fees of CFA and gives you so security
What if the early bird registration is closing and the scholarship result is still pending? Should we register early bird or CFA institute provide a facility for scholarship applicant to enroll early bird if the scholarship is under review?
Heyy if the scholarship results come after early bird ends, you are still eligible to register at early bird fees. Just a thing to keep in mind is that the scholarship must be applied for when the early bird was still going on for that attempt.
