I love how he is still an engineer while taking on the Israel/Palestine conflict. And he is really right in his conclusion and assesment. The hard part is that there is also a number of other terror organisations which might feel encouraged to attack Israel if they don´t see a really hard response from Israel. That makes this so much more difficult and maybe impossible.
When Muslims peacefully took control of Jerusalem, they did it without any bloodshed! They did not seek revenge for previous oppressions of their enemies! That’s why the most peaceful time in Palestine has been when Muslims ruled it. Jews trying their best to beat Christians in who can be the most oppressive! What losers!
UN resolutions 242 and 338 call for an immediate end of occupation of lands captured in 1967 and return of expelled refugees to their homeland. Geneva Conventions prohibit the transfer of settlers to occupied land and the expulsion of natives. Implement UN resolutions 242 and 338 and end the occupation of the state of Palestine. There are 7 million refugees who have been waiting 70 years to return home. END THE OCCUPATION.

I also think many Israelis haven't healed from the trauma of the holocaust so they feel they have to wipe out any perceived threat to their nation, livelihood etc (the whole "Never Again" mentality)

I like the way Mr Musk has not distanced himself far from the world around him, and has the dignity to pause before answering questions. Those responses came form the heart, not the head. All we can hope for is someone in Israel is watching and also has the same qualities as Mr Musk, to try and stop this awful war. War has no winners!

No wisdom ... there is also no need for a genocide... you can drive them out to the Arab countries. It is both a call for vengeance as well as equal response. An equal response tend to escalate because both side underestimate the badness of their response and overestimate the badness of their opponent's response. Furthermore, for a century back and forth conflict like Israel-Palestine. It would go on forever even if both side would keep doing fair eye-for-an-eye response.

As a political scientist I can almost guarantee you that most politicians understand it and even understand it very well, only in politics or in geopolitics it is more about interests and alliances.

Whenever Israel has made concessions, those concessions have backfired. The reality of the situation is that Israel is too small in terms of both land area and population to be able to play nice. The U.S. and Europe can afford to make feel-good decisions because they're large, powerful and surrounded by allies; but for Israel to do the same would be unwise at best, suicidal at worst.

The 'Palestinians' are just a group of Arabic people; they don't have a unique language, culture or history. Yes, Palestine is a tiny colony within the Arabic world, which is why I'd suggest they give it to the indigenous people of the land, who lived there for 1700+ years before the Arabic people left the Arabic Peninsula.

It's an interesting take, but it's also a misinformed one. For example, he said he "thinks" Hamas' only objective was to commit as many atrocities as possible and produce a huge response. This is just nonsense. Their goal was to get hostages and exchange them for Palestinian hostages with Israel. Atrocities were an unintended consequence and weren't as common as propagandistic media is claiming.
Contentious is definitely the correct word to use. It's also difficult to label someone as a terrorist, even if they create acts of so called 'terrorism.' If you burn down my house, and I tell you that I love you even though you destroyed part of my life, then you burn down my kids house, and I still forgive you, but then you steal my land and tell me that it's gods will, and I fight back, is that terrorism?

There are pictures from the time when a ship of Polish jews came in with sign saying something like "we have been displaced, dont leave us hopeless". And the Palestineans accepted them. Even the famous star Bella Hadid's father's family shared their home with these jewish refugees. But his family was thrown out of their own homes by those they sheltered when Israel was founded. It's not an eye for an eye. What people miss is that Israel, quite openly actually, tried to coexist with hamas (accepting it to be the sovereign of gaza) by slowly giving more options to gazans and endorsing the (huge) financial support they were given from every corner. Some say it was way too little too slow, but that fact remains true. Israel kept investing in the Iron dome for protection so they can keep ignoring constant attacks from Hamas on the south of Israel, even when these attacks severely damaged farmers, even when citizens there were constantly begging for the government to do something because they were bombed and aimed at a lot, Israel barely retaliated. Even one of Hamas' leaders openly admitted they intentionally sent the vibes they are 100% preoccupied with the development of Gaza and have no desire for aggression or conflict, so israel will be numb. So it's unfair to simplify it for an eye for an eye, the attack of Hamas simply made Israel understand that ignoring the obvious flags was wrong and now their paying for it. Another thing to understand is the atrocities that were done to the people of the south in Israel made them declare they would not return until the government (which neglected them) can ensure absolute safety, and that's critical. They do not trust empty promises anymore, and Israel cannot abandon an entire area in it's own territory barren, especially one that was thriving. Netanyahu is the main target for these claims and he cannot remain anymore in office: he was the one who lead this lenient approach towards hamas, and his policies were the ones that lead Israel to this state.

It's not an eye for an eye. What people miss is that Israel, quite openly actually, tried to coexist with hamas (accepting it to be the sovereign of gaza) by slowly giving more options to gazans and endorsing the (huge) financial support they were given from every corner. Some say it was way too little too slow, but that fact remains true. Israel kept investing in the Iron dome for protection so they can keep ignoring constant attacks from Hamas on the south of Israel, even when these attacks severely damaged farmers, even when citizens there were constantly begging for the government to do something because they were bombed and aimed at a lot, Israel barely retaliated. Even one of Hamas' leaders openly admitted they intentionally sent the vibes they are 100% preoccupied with the development of Gaza and have no desire for aggression or conflict, so israel will be numb.
So it's unfair to simplify it for an eye for an eye, the attack of Hamas simply made Israel understand that ignoring the obvious flags was wrong and now their paying for it. Another thing to understand is the atrocities that were done to the people of the south in Israel made them declare they would not return until the government (which neglected them) can ensure absolute safety, and that's critical. They do not trust empty promises anymore, and Israel cannot abandon an entire area in it's own territory barren, especially one that was thriving.
Netanyahu is the main target for these claims and he cannot remain anymore in office: he was the one who lead this lenient approach towards hamas, and his policies were the ones that lead Israel to this state.
