Amtrak’s Southwest Chief passing ATSF’s Last Wig Wag

- Like a lone survivor, the Wig Wag in Delhi, Colorado remains the last active mainline Wig Wag in operation. A reminder of the fallen flag “Santa Fe” Railroad as she comes to life. She has been restored over the years as the paint has worn off. Rumor has it that she is next to be replaced in the coming year(s) on the BNSF Raton Subdivision. For now she protects this crossing as Amtrak’s Southwest Chief and few BNSF trains coming through.
Beautiful K5la💜
The fact that this is the last magnetic flagman in mainline service is killing me I live in Illinois but would love to see that in person you will be missed wigwag
Not only that, but there is still active semaphores on this mainline as well
Amazing video! The sunset is beautiful!
Thank you! Wild fires were active in the local area At the time we film this video. The smoke combined with the sunset provided great colors!
start a petition for the railroad to either donate it to a museum or to abandon it in place and install new crossings next to it as a memorial. just a random thought, not too many of these girls left and they need to go into preservation.
A New Railroad crossing will be taking it’s place as confirmed when talking with BNSF Signal Maintainers.
@@SouthwestRailroadPhotography oh no
OH NO
O H N O
Already done; it’s going to a railroad museum up by Golden, west of Denver. Supposedly this wigwag was taken out this week (week of 3/2/2021) and it has been replaced.
Still looks and sounds like it’s was well maintained though...!
@@2themoon863 YAY! I'm glad the CRRM got it

In the loving memory of the Delhi wigwag
I am so glad I got to see this crossing about 2-3 years ago at least the one in Joplin Mo is still their
Actually the wigwag in Joplin has been removed and replaced with stupid crossbucks on wooden posts
@@UsTrainsAndSirens 🤦🏻♂️ UGH Why !!! Must they do this !
@@ceilingfanman3568 IKR! To make things worse, they also recently replaced the Delhi wigwag😔
@@UsTrainsAndSirens Yeah I know about that also the Wigwag in Vernon Ca and the one in Anaheim is also gone
@@ceilingfanman3568 OH THAT'S JUST GREAT. They're replacing great pieces of history that are worth being in a museum😡😡
