I dare any Nightwish fun to thry to debate that the original was better than this! They will fail miserably. I used to listen non stop for months to that entire album when it came out and when I heard this FLOOR/MARCO live version I had to go back to rehear it because for I could not even remember which one was it. They made it SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better, it's unreal. This live version is absolutely brilliant, it's just out of this world.
The complexity of this piece alone is unbelievable. The very fact that it is performed in the exact timing without any slip makes it even more profound. This is like Paganini on steroids kinda spectacular and very rare for musicians to pull this off as an entire band.. It blows my mind every time I listen to this piece.. FANTASTIC.
Compared to Floor, Tarja was the beautiful "church mouse" floating around the stage. Beautiful operatic voice but she was permanently stuck in opera mode. She was more like a guest performer making an appearance, where as Floor dominates that stage like a lioness on the prowl. Floor commands the audience like a general commanding the troops. Floor has a beautiful operatic voice, but that is only the beginning. She has enough horsepower to overwhelm any performance. With Tarja they sometimes relied upon stacked recordings of her voice as part of the background score to give her on stage voice the power it needed to be effective. Floor has that power natively. No prerecorded help needed. She brings the 'gravitas' NW always needed.
So I'm pretty sure the note she hits at 6:30 is her highest note in a live performance. It sounds like a E6. She hits a D6 in "Phantom of the Opera" as well as in the slide in "Romanticide." So this beats those out.
Regarding Kai on this one, his fills sound like 8 machine guns being fired by an octopus, it's relentless and comes from everywhere in the most wonderful way!...

Be sure to search explicitly for that. Finally, you've only done 2 of the Holy Trinity (Ghost Love Score, The Greatest Show on Earth), which leaves you with the third, The Poet and the Pendulum. For context with that one, you need to do some research on End of an Era and the fallout of that and possibly some Tarja era reactions, then you'll be ready. And then you still need to get into a little angry side of Nightwish.

Maybe a double reaction 😉, the album version of "Beauty of the beast" (OF is importand, an other NW song is called Beauty AND the beast) first and than the live version of "Creek Marys Blood" from the End of an Era conzert.
