NW did a cover of Pink Floyd's High Hopes. If you would like to hear Marco sing a full song by himself, check that one out. He has newer ones at Tampere of Islander where Floor is with the band. Yes, Floor is a sweatheart. She has anconfidence more than an ego and she is generous and kind with everyone. If you knew backstory, that she was out of performing with burnout AND she was at her sisters wedding when Tuomas "made the call" that changed her life, NW future, and gained a lot of new fans and brought back some Tarja fans to NW as well.
Thank you for you reactions to nightwish and I’d like you are organic in this journey but before learn more about nightwish before you reached the poet and the pendulum!!! Thank you and welcome to the nightwish army!!❤❤❤
Marko's Devil character is amorously pursuing Floor's Mermaid character. She is having none of it and manages to get away. It is one of the older songs, from the 2nd album ,Oceanborn in 1998. Vocals on the studio version are by Tarja and guest Tapio Wilska. Floor does love performing with Nightwish ,and wasn't 100% at this show, she had been sick with the flu a show or 2 before this. Yes, Marko plays Warwick exclusively. You don't need to follow Gabriel Bardac's list in order, but we do recommend using his links for whatever song you choose to do. Another highly recommended song from this show is I Want My Tears Back. And for more of those back and forth vocals between Marko and Floor, Ghost River at Wacken.
Apart from Floor's warm vibe it always impresses me that you will almost never see her running out of breath (or it must be the last song of the show where she gives it all, like TGSOE Tampere 2015), so great lungs, diafragma and breath control😍
This song is an absolute banger 🤘😎🤘. Kai's drumming on this is just crazy ( Kai Hahto "The Human Metronome", or in my book Kai "The Machine Gun" Hahto )!!! I saw an interview where Kai Hahto was asked: - Now that in Nightwish, how come you don't do that incredible stuff you did on Wintersun? He laughed and answered: - You don't do things because you CAN, you do what serves the song. In another interview Tuomas/Marko said that Floor has a lungs of a dolphin (That long note is 💥)!!! Floor steps back out of the spotlight during a lot of songs. Guitar solos, Marko singing, Troy playing the pipes, whatever it is, Floor steps back from the mic out of the spotlight, while the others have their moment. Floor is a team player. She has said on multiple occasions that Tuomas makes Nightwish run, not her. Plus, she holds the last note (A4) of Nightwish - Ad Astra for 17 seconds (10/6/2022 Sweden Festival). If this wasn't impressive enough, I can also add than now she's just one, I mean ONE, second short from equaling Pavarotti's longest belt ever recorded. So,.... Nuff Said !!!! NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘
Floor always really feels the lyrics and the story of the song very strongly, you can see the emotions on her face. In this song the end of the song was supposed to be really hopeful and happy, so Floor was looking very happy. And you can hear that in the "Thank you so much!" after the song too. But when she is singing a sad song, she looks totally different and even the "Thank you" after the song sounds very different. You can see and hear that for example in "Poet and the Pendulum" performance at Wembley Arena. But if you listen to that song, you should probably check the story behind the song before listening to it to fully understand and appreciate the whole thing.
Floor is a very nice person, we ( a group of Floorworld fans) stayed in the same hotel and I had a little chat when she was leaving to go sing the national anthem at the Dutch F1 GP. This year a was at a meet and greet (about 25 people where there) and she takes time for everyone. She loves performing and that shows every time. Dead Boys Poem is another banger from Buenos Aires.
The order isn't at all important, but the version is. Gabriel's list has the best version from both an audio and visual standpoint so I would use that a guide for what version to choose regardless of what song you do. As a Nightwish fan I am certainly enjoying your reaction. Thank you!
Floor is a High Sensitive and it comes across in her performances. When she’s not touring, which she loves, you will find her deep in the woods of Sweden in her house/farm/stable. Here she relaxes with her husband (drummer of Sabaton), her daughter (another child on the way) and various dogs, cats and horses. They do all the work around the place themselves, which accounts for her marvelous physique. 😄🤘
I have visited her solo concert in May, she is/was really pregnant and the location was very hot and stuffy but anyway, it was amazing how much power and energy she transported to us in the audience. Her opening artist was Anneke van Giersbergen, I liked her a lot too, just a woman and her guitar, but Floor is just something else. Also chatting away in German and English and everything in between was so entertaining. I wish a safe birth for her baby and that she will soon be with Nightwish for the recording of the new album, which will be quite heavy according to Floor.
Another great reaction. Gabriel is carrying on a tradition started by the late Ann Waychoff, mother of the Nightwish Army, of providing some information on the band for first time reactors as a way to help build support for a band we all love. The list, as Gabriel says himself, is not meant to be road map or specific way of exploring the band. Instead it does gives some insight into the style of the song and a link to the best video for each song. By all means react to songs that interest you. Yes Marko is a great singer and was the lead singer of his band Tarot before joining Nightwish in 2001. He is also one of four Finnish metals singers in the super group Northern Kings. He has also sang with other bands such as Delain and Ayreon. There is a pretty cool video of Marko and Floor singing with Delain just after Floor's first band After Forever had broken up. There are a number of Nightwish songs where Marko takes the lead or has a prominent role. Some of my favorites are The Islander (live at Tampere), While Your Lips are Still Red (live at Wembley) and one that doesn't get reacted to often, Endlessness, from their latest album Human Nature. Never performed live because Marko left the band before the pandemic ended but the official lyric video is gorgeous. It is a very fitting last song for Marko to sing with the band. Nightwish doesn't have a lot of official music videos but the few they do have are really good. Since the Human Nature album dropped right before the pandemic hit and the band couldn't tour in support they released official videos for each song on Disc 1. My favorite is Shoemaker (one of my top 5 Nightwish songs) and the video is just stunning and as epic as the music is. It is also pretty amazing live (Hellfest or Deichbrand 2022) but I think the video adds alot to the song.
I love this performance, the vision of Floor towards the end when she's brushing her fingers through her hair while she's smiling is one of my favourite images of her. You may notice that Tuomas (keyboardist) is not just pressing keys with his 2 index fingers, he's also hitting with some other fingers, notably his pinky finger. He's moving so quickly it can be difficult to see. Well, it looks like that's what he's doing, I'm no musician though!
I think Floor speaks for all of us when she says "WOW!" at the end. Probably my favorite vocal performance of hers, because of all the different styles and theatrics. Always a highlight when this one gets reacted to. I've always said, nobody has more fun at a Floor performance than Floor herself, so I'm glad you pointed that out. She always acts like she's having the time of her life, and it's never just a job for her. And certainly the crowd and even us viewers feed off that positive energy. Of course, everyone else in the band shines here too, especially Kai, who is just killing it back there. Maybe his most Windersunnish performance with Nightwish. Always love Marko doing all these crazy things on the bass, too, all while singing his parts.
Floor is an absolute beautiful Person , she is always interacting with her fans , wether its posting pictures , updates, videos or having hour long live streams with us on all her platforms, she has Floorworld where we all interact with one another .....we havent heard from her for about a week due to her getting sick ( she's at least 7 months pregnant) on the tour , where they had to cancel the final show of the tour ......so were all waiting and hoping all is ok with her .
She is a super sensitive person. Everything affects her a lot. Both good and bad things, but also helps her to deliver so well in her performances. Everybody that worked with her defines her as professional, talented, nice and funny. She is a beast.
Where much music (metal or other) is formulatic (guitar riffs and drum solos) Nightwish is anything but. Everyone does what is needed without having to be the “star”. Floor may be the front person and perceived as the star but she totally realizes and appreciates that it is the presence of all of them performing together at the very highest level that creates the Nightwish vibe and excellence. The juxtaposition of her insane range and presence and this bands hard hitting insane talent is incredible They were super fortunate to be blessed with both Jukka and Kai…two phenomenal drummers who melded so perfectly with this phenomenal band. Kai in Beast Mode on the drum kit ..again👍in this one🤘🤘
This is one of the few Nightwish songs where I like the album version with Tarja more. It was written for her voice, and Tapio was a much more convincing devil. But they are long gone so I will take it. Liked (I was already subscribed)!
Great 4 being Authentic Guys ❤. And further our Nightwish Army General Angel Gabriël has a great choice as well .. all is matter of making choices . 4 All is well 🦁💥🙏🏼
I enjoyed that reaction. Love it when musicians get into the more technical stuff because I know nothing about that, and love to increase my knowledge.
I know Floor personally from music school. In real life she is a pretty shy modest sweet person. On stage she becomes this Valkery....amazing to see. Music is her life. She is more the observer type, so it was so weird for me to see her on stage (After Forever) and certainly in Nightwish. She was that badass metal chick and became this growling soprano Goddess. Amazing.
Wellwell, 6.12. happens to be the Independence Day of Finland. And the "Decades" was the first live album which topped Finnish charts. I saw them live last week at Kitee, Finland. Floor was about 7 months of pregnant, but still they delivered a full two hours show. ⛄❄👍
As a keyboardist, Tuomas' solution to that problem is spot on. If you see what the arpeggio shape is, it's basically world class concert level technique for playing that part with "classical" technique. It's very fast, it needs to be very accurate and efficient... so to solve that issue, he chose the perfect way. There's no real need for dynamics in that part, as long as everything's played at the same volume and in TIME it's good... :)
Marko is the reason I play Warwick. I heard him on “Century Child” and knew what I wanted my tone to be. MISA from BAND-MAID is the reason I play through Orange.
Marco sings often in Nightwish. He has a beautiful vioice too! The Islander in Tampere is a great folksong, he is alone on stage and he sings High hopes from Pinkfloyd with Nightwish too. He has his own band for a long time, Tarot. He can sound like a demon or has a soft sweet vioce. When your lips are stil red in Wembley is beautiful too.
🤘Hey Guys, well done review.I think, the only way you can perform like Nightwish does is,you have to love what you are doing besides all the hard work they all have to do to make it work.Floor is ofcourse, the front person of the band and its so a natural thing for her to be.Her little gestures and movements comes from within, you can feel that she is living the songs she sings. It's a quality some people just have. Floor is also a high sensitive person, wich explains ,i think, her dedication to her craft. The spotlight is mostly on the front persons in most bands, but Nightwish is/was (also with former members) a hard to beat presence on stage, they all have a story to tell.😉🤘
🇫🇮❤It's hard to believe that Floor was already sick with a flu in B.A.. Four days after this show she could hardly talk at Bogota, but fought her way through the entire setlist.
Kai is top 10 metal drummer for me. Studied with Freddy Gruber and as a lefty playing right handed, dude is next level. I enjoyed this reaction. Especially from someone who looks like "christian Gary Holt".
they are a band and friends ..enjoy playing together.❤🔥 Time goes by and when you are not happy anymore.. (like Marco for personal reasons) you go and your friends are not happy but accept it !
Floor really is so so nice in like the best way possible. She loves being on stage and rocking the hell out of it!!! I've been to one of her shows during her solo tour in April and it was so amazing to see how much she enjoyed performing her own stuff and how much she appreciated each and every person in the audience. I also attended a quite private M&G (10 people maybe) that happened right before that show, she took time for each of us and we could talk a bit and get stuff signed. It's insane how nice she was but like real and honest and not that fake stuff. She was talking to us in German and/or English depending on what each of us would prefer, so because of my nerves we ended up speaking a fun mix of Denglish (German &English)🤣Couple of weeks ago I attended Nightwish's last show in Germany (for now) and it was an unforgettable night. The band and the audience just shared a special energy!!! Also seeing a quite pregnant Floor headbang like crazy just has something😅 My highlight from her solo tour was definitely the M&G and my highlight from the Nightwish show was probably hearing How's the Heart live, my favorite Nightwish at the moment
This is one of my all time favorite performances by Nightwish. The drumming is so maddeningly good! I can’t even begin to understand how he does it. And Marco’s singing is so awesome, gritty as hell and he really gets into hos character. Empuu ia always awesome and I really admire him for his humbleness. He always serves the song and creates the perfect tone. But as always it’s Floor that shines the brightest. Her vocals in this song are so good that there isn’t a proper word to describe how good her performance is here. Flawlessly flowing between several different vocal styles is no easy feat. But the control she has on those decrescendos are the real showstoppers here. It even outshines that long note that she holds for what seems to be forever. Becuase they are extremely hard to get right and she does them with superhuman precision. And all interviews and talkshows I’ve seen with her in them tells me that she is a warm and loving human with a huge heart. Thats exactly whyshe is my biggest hero and role model. She isn’t just this amazing rockstar, ahe is also a great person. There is a great show from dutch tv that does flashbacks with famous people in the setting of a high school reunion. Her old classmates sits in a classroom with her and she gets to see how her life has been since high school. Here we get to see what led up to her joining Nightwish and it is a marvelous story. I really recommend watching it. Not necessarily react to it, but you should definitely watch it.
Reacts to Joelma when he was a member of the band Calypso live in the Amazônia (Brazil) in 2004. And then he reacts to Joelma in his solo career live in the Amazônia in 2022 (Block 1 and Block 2). She is considered the greatest performer in Brazil, and one of the few who don't use playback, her face is swollen because she contracted Covid 4 times and her blood was clotting, but even so she managed to record this DVD, like almost 50 years. From Rio de Janeiro!
GREAT reaction guys!!! It’s always cool when reactors with actual music performance background/experience comment on what they’re seeing. I just want to re-iterate what some others have already said. It’s your channel, do how you like! “General Gabriel’s” curated list is just a wonderful guideline to explore the many styles and sounds of this amazing band! The links he’s provided are to performances the vast majority of us in the NW Army agree are the best UA-cam versions of specific pieces. -NW Army, western NC Battalion
Great reaction. Wanne see a rough and heavy Floor. Try the song Disdain from her former band Revamp (live at Graspop 2010) This is why Nightwish wanted her so badly...:)
I'd love to see your reaction to Ever Dream and Songs of Myself - personally, I like the Wacken 2013 versions. Ever Dream might be on the same vibe as Romanticide as a comparison but Song of Myself is quite different. If you really want a deep dive for Marko, I love Kiss While Your Lips Are Still Red.
Floor started doing Fan Fridays during the pandemic, answering all sorts of questions about her family, dog, horses, struggles for breath while singing, not liking tacos much...very warm and personal, though introverted.
Gabriel is giving you suggestions, not telling you the order you should listen to. Sometimes Nightwish fans can get militant about the order “you should watch”. Having said that, one song is an exception - the Poet and the Pendulum. Whenever you chose to watch it, it is very helpful to do a bit of background research - the song has a deep emotional origin that will truly mean more with a small measure understanding that comes from the bands parting with Tarja. If not, you will misinterpret band interactions that may seem to be flippant, but are not!!
@@jeffwolinski2659 You must be kidding! Tribal, Noise, Shoemaker not good? The Greatest Show on Earth - best song ever (my opinion) and Shudder before the Beautiful best show opener. Elan, My Walden - so beautiful, Weak Fantasy - aggressiv and critical, Alpenglow - uplifting.
If you really want to know how good a voice Marko has, then check out Nightwish's cover of Pink Floyd's, High hopes. David Gilmore approved. It's amazing.
Since youre currently at the Buenes Aries concert I would suggest I Want My Tears Back from the same show. A different sound from Nightwish, and Troy on the Ulleann Pipes ( the traditional Irish version of bagpipes). Have you been introduced to Troy yet? I cant remember if you've done any songs that he's been featured on.
Marko is an awesome singer! You simply must hear him in Phantom of the Opera 2005 (End of an Era), The Islander, While your Lips are Still Red, High Hopes, and Yours is an Empty Hope! His voice also pairs so perfectly with Floor's in so many songs, it's better than PB & J!
wrt Tuomas keyboard playing, it's really difficult to play the same note fast using a single hand/finger. Depending on the 'action' (the springiness for the sake of simplicity) of the keys on any given keyboard, the key doesn't have time to recover to the unplayed position before you need to strike it again. Therefore rhythmic control becomes virtually impossible unless you strike sharply with alternate hands as Tuomas was doing at various points. He's raising his hands much higher than he needs to but I think that's just showmanship on his part. All the band members are what I'd describe as 'ensemble' players - intelligent and humble enough to realise that everything they do needs to serve the music, and there's no place for egos (even if they had them).
About Gabriels list, it is not curated, however if ypu pick a song, check the list for the best quality video to use as there are some fan made ones that are not great, and some slowed down ones out there.
Gabriel's list is simply a guide for those who want to get the essentials. There's nothing orescriptive about it . Take it in any order if you choose to use it at all. This is my No 4 favourite, in this version. Despite the genius of Tuonas, apparent in the album version, this version with Floor's and Marcos' vocal abilities, is vastly superior to the Tarja/Tapio version For similar vocal dynamics try Slaying the Dreamer from the same show. The latest album is great on music videos if you have to have something to watch as well as listen.
Great reaction. I'm also a rock/metal musician, and it's a mistake to not follow the list, like I've said before. It's a mistake for your own sake. It's not that you won't appreciate the performances, because you do, but you're robbing YOURSELF of an _increased_ appreciation of some of the best pieces like Dead Boy, Poet, and Greatest Show unless you take the time to get there, because the comments on the reactions leading up to them will contain tons of useful information that will increase your understanding of the context around the piece. Which, in turn, will make you appreciate them more. So, now you know. It's for your own sake. Which, in turn, makes it a better experience for us, because you're able to connect with the music at a much deeper level and appreciate the lyrics as well. Comments can be extremely misleading. Newcomers to the band will recommend the epic pieces extremely early, and I have seen other reactors jump straight from Ghost Love Score to Greatest Show and/or Pendulum. Those reactions are just not worth watching. They have no clue what the songs are about.
Pretty please Crows Fly Black Tarot Undead Indeed live. Tarot is Marko's band where he shares vocals with Tommi who is also in Raskasta Joulua with Marko and many many others.
If you want more of what Marko is capable of, also a dip into the original vocalist. I would highly recommend their cover of Phantom of the Opera from the 'End of an Era' tour ua-cam.com/video/tL25rbnvM4o/v-deo.html
From the same performance - Dead Boy's Poem
She never upstages but she is truly happy on stage and one the most humble singers out there.
The new bass player for Nightwish Jukka Koskinen was in Wintersun as well.
NW did a cover of Pink Floyd's High Hopes. If you would like to hear Marco sing a full song by himself, check that one out. He has newer ones at Tampere of Islander where Floor is with the band.

Thanks, great as always.
Gabriel's list is not for following in morder, but hte links on it are secure related about sound and imagen quality.
I highly recommend Weak Fantasy (at Tampere)...if you like the harder ones....oh and Slaying the Dreamer!!!
I fell in love with Kai's drumming with weak fantasy (the live at Wembley version is great)
Thank you for you reactions to nightwish and I’d like you are organic in this journey but before learn more about nightwish before you reached the poet and the pendulum!!! Thank you and welcome to the nightwish army!!❤❤❤

a shoutout for oceanborn, not a lot of people listen to it but it's arguably my favourite nightwish album.

❤ Great choice ❤ This song is a banger and the decision to do more Nightwish is TOP‼️🏆
Hello Chris and Sam, what a wonderful reaction. The smiles on your faces says it all. Thanks for checking this awesome track out. 🤘🤘

There is no "leader" to the fandom, Gabriel is the HERALDER of the Army!
Floor is a High Sensitive and it comes across in her performances. When she’s not touring, which she loves, you will find her deep in the woods of Sweden in her house/farm/stable. Anneke was a great influence on Floor before she joined her first band, After Forever, at 16 years old

Troy's beautiful line in the end with PRS and E-bow is everything for this song.
Great job guys , in this one Marco is the devil trying to have his way with Floor the mermaid but she's having none of it
The symphonic part is all prerecorded with the London Philharmonic and runs as a backing track for the entire show.
I think Floor speaks for all of us when she says "WOW!" at the end. Probably my favorite vocal performance of hers, because of all the different styles and theatrics. Always a highlight when this one gets reacted to.

You do your thing and watch the videos in order you want.
Great job!
It doesn't look like you guys have done "Ghost River" yet. It has a similar Marko evil/ Floor good storyline. The Wacken 2013 version (obv)

Weak Fantasy. Love your reactions!
There is strength in restraint- great life lesson!!!
🤗🍒🤘🏻 well done and well and if she is a nice person !!!!
9:11 Right on the spot guys, Kai does have a second hi-hat on his right side. He is so fast that his later fill is even more stuffed than this one.
Especially from someone who looks like "christian Gary Holt".
they are a band and friends ..enjoy playing together.❤🔥
Time goes by and when you are not happy anymore..
Also seeing a quite pregnant Floor headbang like crazy just has something😅
My highlight from her solo tour was definitely the M&G and my highlight from the Nightwish show was probably hearing How's the Heart live, my favorite Nightwish at the moment
This is ooooold one :)
If you really want to hear Marco SING, check out their tribute to Pink Floyd’s High Hopes.
You need to react to Crown Solace!!!
They're like Nightwish but come with a unique twist.
The list isn't in any particular order. Go any order you want. They're just the best links
Great reaction.
Wanne see a rough and heavy Floor.
Try the song Disdain from her former band Revamp (live at Graspop 2010)
This is why Nightwish wanted her so badly...:)
Tuomas has 2 keyboards, one for tracks, one for playing "keyboard". The level one is tracks, the one angled downward is for playing.....
It is your journey, so pursue whatever path pleases you. I would recommend using the links provided by Gabriel but any order is fun.😉
The songs of the two albums Tuomas wrote for Floor are not getting enough reactions in my opinion. (exc. perhaps Yours is an Empty Hope)
Because they're not as good. The ultimate NW experience is Floor singing the older better songs.
Greetings.
Kai sometimes incorporates hits on the cymbals during drum rolls.
Kai is doing triplets on the kicks instead of 1/16's during the outro and threw in a snare beat on an off beat on the four in there, too.
Kai at Rotten Sound. Cheez. 🤘🏻💪🏻
wrt Tuomas keyboard playing, it's really difficult to play the same note fast using a single hand/finger.
What I would suggest use Gabriels list for the links to ensure you get the correct quality video etc. if you don't use it for anything else ;)
Despite the genius of Tuonas, apparent in the album version, this version with Floor's and Marcos' vocal abilities, is vastly superior to the Tarja/Tapio version
For similar vocal dynamics try Slaying the Dreamer from the same show.
The latest album is great on music videos if you have to have something to watch as well as listen.
this video is good example why Kai is nicknamed "Human Metronome"
Those orchestral parts are prerecorded and playing in the background an the band plays exactly in the same rhythm
Reaction starts at the 6 minute and 20 seconds level. You're welcome.
“Yippy skippy”. 😅
Justin Credible& AJ Styles doing Nightwish 😂🤘🏻🥰
It is well known that Marko is (was) the best singer in NW :p
Yes meatloaf was great. That guy would get out there and sing his heart out! And yeah they did the skit and play off sometimes too lol
🤘💞🇫🇮💞🤘
Inform us if you know, please tell us if you know, tell us that, tell is this, have you two "Bozo's" ever responded to a comment....
Hi There. If you;d like more of Kai Drumming, you might like to check out "Nightwish - Weak Fantasy - Lyric Video" Kind Regards from the UK.
Marko hietala is awesome
Isn't Floor a lovely person?
Yes. ❤
I just love this one - she posted it herself, too 😂

Pretty please Crows Fly Black Tarot Undead Indeed live.
Tarot is Marko's band where he shares vocals with Tommi who is also in Raskasta Joulua with Marko and many many others.
If you want more of what Marko is capable of, also a dip into the original vocalist. I would highly recommend their cover of Phantom of the Opera from the 'End of an Era' tour ua-cam.com/video/tL25rbnvM4o/v-deo.html
Hi, beautiful
Floor is an empath…
THERE SO MANY MORE TALENT WOMEN LIKE FLOOR ,IN THE NETHERLANDS.
Pls for love of God react to songs you feel like. Not to the list "AGAIN".😂
Just saying because if everyone does it it gets very repetitive.
🐕
Its pronounced TarYa
Kai destroys in this song.
wrong vocalist :D
