I cut celery in slicrs, spread out on a parchment lined cookie sheet then freeze. When fully frozen, put in freezer bags. Take out just as much as you need for your soup, stew etc.
There was a long time where we couldn't go either. I find that each distribution place gets different items. Up north from me, they get a lot more items and a lot more meat. I have often thought of driving up there to get a share or two but don't think it is worth the gas money unless I am visiting relatives at the same time. For the cost, I will take anything they give. I am thankful for it all.

You have way cooler stuff then we do. I didn't go in a long time because I can't get off of work in time.
