  • The Shamans bridged the bone to the moon. They began the revolution of transferring meaning between word and reality through metaphor. An adventure spanning thousands of years. Today I will embark on my own quest, a quest to answer your burning questions...
    How do you get rid of filler sounds? How should communication training be integrated in schools? How can you practice speaking with social anxiety? These are some of the questions we will answer.
    May the grapefruit make you spokenminded.

    • @deb13292
      @deb13292 3 роки тому +3

      I'm not an expert, but I'd say just keep practicing. If you're confident in yourself and what you're saying, there's no need to stutter or freeze. It does take time to be relaxed, speaking in front of other people, just keep at it.

    • @clayhewett454
      @clayhewett454 3 роки тому +10

      So my girlfriend is in grad school to be a speech pathologist! I hear tidbits about stuttering so don’t take this as gospel. BUT the most important takeaway I get from her stuttering talks is to not let it get to you. Many people start stuttering, and then later in life associate their stutters with negative social interactions. This can develop an anxiety response in which when you are about to speak, you are anxious which can actually cause you to lock up and stutter more than you did before. This effect can basically snowball into a result in which some/a good portion of your stutter may be due to the anxiety of stuttering. Like I said though, I’m not a pro but I would recommend practice in the mirror and changing your perception of your stutters from something negative, to things that happen and it’s ok! Hopefully this will reduce some of that anxiety and let you float over sections that may have made you stutter before! Good luck and sorry for the rant

    • @floresaza253
      @floresaza253 3 роки тому

      I used to stutter quite a bit growing up and I learned to know when I want to say before I say it, and how I want to say it. Sometimes it feels like my mind is ahead of whatever is coming out of my mouth and I have to tell myself to slow down and relax.

    You are almost at 100k Subscribers!!! Congratulations!!
    I love watching you learn and trying new video ideas. You already have the skill of public speaking and are wonderful at teaching it. You truly care about helping others and it shows in everything you do. You spend the extra time to make your videos more engaging by showing you are human like the rest of us. In turn, making what you are saying more relatable to everyone.
    As a person that grew up without the internet and was taught, in a public school, proper phone etiquette this makes me so happy that you are trying to help so many that never had a chance to learn why public speaking is so important. Thank You for being You!

    Video idea:
    Analyse the top 10 or 50 or even top 100 UA-camrs to see what they have in common/skills most of them use. If that seems to big you might watch to watch videos who analyse 100’s of things and put it in 15-30 minutes. I think it will be very interesting.
    I did comment this last video however I think he didn’t see it.

    Wow loving your video's, always inspired when I see the skills you preach being used so effectively. I can't say I'm any where near the lvl of public speaking and communication such as your exuberant self, but I can attest to the advice you gave to the question in 14:26. Said skills have played a major role in influencing my growth and perspective about the world. I believe I too suffered in a similar way in adolescence, but hope to keep learning and growing from inspiring individuals such as yourself.

    Hey David. I wanted to start off with saying that I wish you would have done youtube when I was in high school. I was very nervous when it came to public speaking and the people there did not help much. All my life I’ve been using filler sounds and this is the first time I’ve heard to just BREATHE and replace those filler sounds. I even talked to my psychologist about this and the person just told me “you need to calm down” which gave me more stress😂. I just want to thank you cause I want to improve on this starting since the first video I saw from you. I’m just 18 years old and I recently just started college and it has been nerve recking cause things here in Puerto Rico haven’t been good at all and including the pandemic it is even worse. I honestly had been losing hope to even make friends because I could not find the right people but I do have my girlfriend which has helped me in bad situations. I hope you keep making videos and I know that soon you’re going to have so many comments that you wont be able to answer them😂 but it’s okay. I just wish you the best of luck. And again to just thank you for making videos like these in these really bad times. It truly does feel like your channel is a light at the end of a tunnel. Thank you for being YOU. Stay safe David, see you in your next video❤️❤️

    These tips are better for relieving anxiety in social situations than anything I found on google. Anytime I am talking to someone I am more focused on trying to improve my way of speaking instead of the anxiety of speaking at all. I'm so glad I found this channel through Pewdiepie and i am looking forward to learning a lot more through future videos. Much love from germany
