- India vs. Sweden - what`s different when it comes to public speaking?! Today I've got special guest Divas Gupta with me and we will decode an Indian and Swedish speaker.
Do functional gestures and body language allow communication across languages?
Afterwards we cover 3 DONTs for public speakers in India and in Sweden.
Get your towels ready. Here we go!

Haha... This was fun. Travelling 6400 kms from India (although tiresome😅) was worth every second when you were around. You are not just an amazing speaker but also an incredible human being.
Much love to Maria & everyone at the beautiful JP Manor.

The legend is back!
So so so refreshing to see you uploading again!!! Keep it up!!!
Very interesting to see how effective non verbal communication is, also great to know a bit more about the Indian and Swedish cultures, keep on educating as always!
Thank you! Will do!
The head wobble is interesting. I've seen it a lot on movies. I can barely see any difference on the head wobbles but a lot on the facial expressions.
I LOVED the comparison!
I worked for a publication for a short while and had the opportunity to talk to some multi National companies.
What I found interesting in speaking with some CEOs was HOW DIFFERENT negotiation/business conventions are due to cultural differences, and how some things are unacceptable/acceptable because of it.
I would think it would be super interesting to see more like this!
Different culture, different game!
This could definitely be a series
"in Sweden if you're 2 minutes early you're late" underrated joke lol
yes this is the kind of video ive been waiting on (communication in different cultures)!
I love this feelgood shit. Thanks.
The Towel Gang has long Awaited your return Mr Phillips.
Thanks so much!
Absolutely loved this
Hi David, awesome. I am looking forward to meeting you sometime in Sweden.
Towel gang representing!
It is always the sunny cultures who don't take time too serious. When I visited Greece for the first time, the busses didn't even had a time table. The bus arrives, when the bus arrives.
This was stressing me as a German a little, who - despite having to deal with THE unreliable railway company - loves schedules and being on time.
I guess the sorter the summers, the more value time has.
Interesting, isn`t it? Maybe the management of DB took some inspiration from India ;)
@@DavidJPPhillips This kind of inspiration only benefits themselves, I fear :D
And this mindset has jet to arrive at employers and job interviewers.
It's due to seasonal extremes. The crop cycle puts a strong emphasis on time culturally, since in the far north it was a matter of life and death.
@@Mr12Relic sounds plausible.
What an awesome video
Very unique idea! I like how once the language barrier is up in place, you have to rely on what you can tell with body language and expressions!
Absolutely!
Traffic here is insane really
Video #2 of asking David to react to The Warning, they are a great band of 3 sisters from Monterrey, Mexico bringing rock back to life and they are a joy to watch, even when they are not performing.
We missed you David
It was a nice experience you try different stuff with another people David :)
You should do a video based on business relationships in different countries and the dynamic between worker and boss, and how that changes when your boss is younger than you.
Noted down!
This was fascinating! Will you do this with other cultures/nationalities?
Which one would you be interested in the most? :)
@@DavidJPPhillips Ireland, Japan and Pakistan are my top 3 favorite ones but ideally any 🙂
Haha that was great
I’ve known some people who head wobble.
As a non-Indian person it comes across more as engagement rather than like a yes and no.
Damn
Towel gang rejoice!
Swedish are my kind of people.
Hello philip
It’s like math it’s universal
hai
Oooookay.
The Swedish guy looks like PewDiePie s dad
@Sandeep maheshwari
First like and comment 😇✌️
You are faster than Sonic my friend!
@@DavidJPPhillips " I am speed"😅🤣
And don't forget Indians have the best Microsoft support!
